They drop me really and owning I always pay in advance pay $3000 3 years ago cover opening closing. I called them said that they would open and close it they will not return money. they said open with $500 and close it for $500 and they said I need to find another company to clean it. For two years open my pool and close my pool for two years find somebody else to clean and this is pain in my ***. They send me a letter owed me $900 2 weeks ago. They left me hanging. I think they are not being truthful the reason drop dropping me they no longer get the labor they need. but to let me know this to keep my money for all this years not refunding my money I can understand that how it works. But to let me know this late for this season not opening and closing my pool. The does not sit well for me they let me know it first. The problem with the pool service that they I have a large property in the Old Town Alexandria with swimming pool. But I did work with for 30 years and later years the theft became worst. I finally have to report a couple of theft that is the reason PoolService to drop me. I will not recommended them.

I've given up on PoolService Company and have turned to Leslie's.  So far so good!.  I was a long-time customer of PoolService (20+ years) but I cannot tolerate the substandard customer service I've experienced in the recent seasons.  Incompetence and rudeness seem to be the hallmarks of my experience with PoolService, and that is why PoolService is fired, forever.
Unions clearly labeled "do not lubricate" are left covered in sticky waterproof grease.
Requests to install new valves are simply refused.  The existing valves are locked closed.  Two callbacks result not in repairs, but in lectures from the pool technician, telling me that I don't know what I'm talking about.
Waterproof covers are left open, showering the timer mechanisms with pool water, resulting in rust and damage.
Heater is left filled with leaves and pine needles, resulting in flame rollout and requiring emergency service.
I could go on, but what's the point?  Merchantability is the central issue here.  My patience with PoolService Company is permanently exhausted.

It went well. We knew the issue and Pool Service Co. was able to come to dignose the problem, order the part and replace it faster than others we considered using.

They opened my pool in the pouring rain. I subsequently had to call them back twice over the next few days to address leaks in several of the plugs and fittings that they had removed at pool closing last fall and reconnected as part of opening. They were very responsive to my calls for them to return and address the leaks. In fact, every contact I've had with Pool Service has been very positive, professional and responsive to my needs. I received 3 bills: the opening, and a separate bill for each callback. The bills for the callbacks seemed too high, since I did not expect to be billed for redoing work from closing. I can understand the difficulty in verifying connections in the rain, but lesson learned is to avoid opening under those circumstances and/or to be extra vigilant. I contacted the account manager and he indicated that he would try to address my concerns with the billing.

Very well. Diagnosed problem quickly, showed us the failed parts in our current heater, offered to repair or replace the heater. We chose to replace the heater and they had a new heater installed and operating within a few days. This install was performed very professionally, and much better than the original install using many techniques to prolong the life of the heater. We installed a professional grade heater (cupro-nickel, brass, and stainless, digital), hence the price shown.

we used this company to open and close our pool over the past 2 years. I'm shopping around for another company this year because when they came out last year to open the pool, I was home and they knew it, but they left without finishing the job because I later found out that they were having trouble getting electricity to the pool. instead of them coming to the door and telling me so that I could possibly have the issue resolved quickly, they just left and we had to schedule them to come back to finish the opening. Another complaint with them is although the folks that answer the phone are very friendly and nice, the guy that came to open/close the pool was not friendly at all and not very helpful either. My husband was also not happy that they backwashing the filter right into the flower bed instead of walking down a little further away from the plants.

They charge about $6000 for a whole year's worth of service including the checkups. My experience with them has been good. They are responsive. They were able to correct the problem that the other pool company left us with. They worked with the filter company to get a replacement installed within the warranty period. They may be slightly more expensive but we have had no problem with the water; it has been great.

I have used this company for the last 20+ years. This year I asked for my pool to be opened on 8 May because I was having a pool party and wanted it to be ready. Part of the work was to replace tiles that fell off. After five visits and promises each time that this would be done, it never was. Matter of fact once when they told me they were coming on a Tuesday and didn't come or call, I called the next morning and reinterated that my party was Saturday and I got a what I considered a sarcastic response that they and the entire company was and quot;well aware of my partyand quot;. After 5 visits and a promise that the tiles would be replaced - guess what, they weren't and the party went on without the tiles on the pool. I was very disappointed in their service. Will I use them again, probably not!!

This company is amazing. They have done work that we didn't request, then lied about it, then charged us. They have broken things and then told us it was already broken and charged us for repairing the item. Terrible. Skip them. Really, really terrible.

They opened our pool and treated the water, power washed the decking around the pool. They removed the hard cover and started the filter. We had some trouble with them last year, but they did a better job this time. They are really trying to take care of me.

At the beginning of the season my timer for the polaris got invested with ants and had to replaced. I made the appointment - they showed up in about a week and a half and fixed the problem. Note I callled two other pool companies and they would not even committ to an appointment. We were then gone for 2 weeks in the summer and I hired Pool Service Co. to check on my pool and clean as necessary. When I returned the pool looked great, and a neighbor who was watching my cats mentioned that they were there at least every other day. They left me a report on what they did and what chemicals they added. I thought they did a great service, but just wich they would have used some of my chemicals rather than chargeing me about 3 times more the cost for their chemicals. They did a great job and now know I can rely on them when I am gone. Would definitely recommend them.

As noted above, the schedulers were neither helpful nor particularly courteous. In addition, the last straw was when I scheduled services as above and, after the opening, the pool deck was still filthy. I called them and asked if they had indeed powerwashed as I had contracted for. A snarky employee said that if they had contracted for it, they did it. Sometime later, another employee called to tell me that no, they had not done it, and that somehow it had not gotten on the schedule even though I had set it up with them. That was it; I decided not to use them again.

They came when they said will, scheduling was not a problem, they even called to remind me the day before. The crew was very professional, did what they were supposed to do, even some things that the last year crew didn't do. There was an issue with the invoice (incorrect charge), which they resolved right away. Overall, I am very pleased with them this year and would consider them again.

I called to schedule the appt. and specifically asked how much it will cost. I was quoted around $450. The day of service, the crew showed up on time and did the work, they seemed very efficient and from the looks of it, did a good job, answered all my questions. When the bill came however, I was in for a surprise, because they charged me additionally for the winterization of the spa and the caretaker valve. Now, this company has serviced the pool for years and they were not aware that there was a spa and a caretaker valve when quoting the initial price? Very disappointing.

By the time the chemicals are added in, this is an extremely expensive service for about one hour's work! They always want the customer to sign up for additional work, and are not at all conscious of environmental concerns. For example, they wanted to fill up the pool just weeks before they would have to empty it by gallons for the winterization. That would have wasted a lot of water, and cost us even more money!

This company loves to point to how long they have been around, as an indicator of their quality service. I submit they seem good because most of the other companies in this industry are so bad.

Pool Service is too large to properly handle its customers. We inherited them from the previous home owner, and they performed the 2004 pool closing well. The next season we made an appointment, well in advance, to have our pool opened and cleaned two days before our home May 2005 wedding. They simply did not show. When we called, we were told that they could not accommodate us, in what we thought was an emergency situation that they caused. We then tried other pool service companies who did decent jobs, but we didn't have full confidence in them for problems like a leak and pink algae. In August 2006, we therefore contacted Pool Service about timer replacement, a leak and to make an appt. to close our pool. When I called to get their closing rates, they didn't know what they were yet. They said they'd call me back with the rate. Instead I received message telling me of Oct. appt. Over the next several weeks, no one would return my calls about other items. We cancelled our closing well.

Over the many years we've worked with Pool Service Company we've been on the whole quite satisfied. We've had issues from time to time, but they've always been resolved promptly, and we find the company management to be customer-friendly and reasonable.
