Not one item was broken or cracked!  They did the delivery in two separate trips, which worked out really well even though it was unplanned. We could unpack the first load and then were ready by the time they came with the second load. The movers were very nice and helpful and just did whatever we asked.  A lot of our furniture was new, so they even assembled some pieces upon delivery.

When I requested a quote, I received a very timely response with an accurate estimate.  It was easy to schedule a date and time that worked with my schedule.  The movers arrived on time, were very professional and took great care to wrap and protect my items for the long haul move.  When the items arrived in NYC, the staff was again professional, worked diligently and took good care of my items.  Would definitely use again.

I spoke mostly with Kanika and she was very helpful overall. Our move was from DC to Manhattan with fairly short notice to the moving company (a little over two weeks). Even though the move date changed from our original discussion (due to restrictions on weekend move-ins), Kanika was very accomodating and worked with us. Majestic was also able to set up moving insurance in a fairly short amount of time, so they're definitely able to handle any red tape that comes up in the moving process.
Move date was fairly smooth, a crew of four showed up relatively on time, traffic permitting, and had everything packed up within 3 hours. They catalogued everything, wrapped all the furniture and were pretty thorough.
Move-in was the next day in NYC. We had scheduled an additional pickup for my partner's belongings who was already in the city. I was under the impression that the movers would drive up the night before to get an early start with everything, but it turns out they left that morning, so they arrived nearly three hours late. They were able to unload everything, but had an additional job to load before they could go and pick up our other belongings in the city. With a 5PM move-in deadline that day, this left them with little time to finish everything and had us very concerned that the move would not get finished in time. In the end, Majestic came through and was able to pick up and deliver the rest of our stuff just a little after 5, so everything worked out. The crew worked hard and was very efficient when they were there, but driving to DC from NYC on the day of the move left the schedule very tight and us in suspense until the last moment. This would be my only complaint. I'd recommend and use Majestic again; they'll get the job done and do it well, but be prepared to roll with the flow a little. Moving isn't easy.

Majestic Moving & Storage was one of three moving companies we contacted to get estimates for our end-of-the-year move from Bethesda, Maryland to Central Texas. One of the companies failed to return our call. Both Majestic and the other company that did return our call were very prompt in doing so, and in sending someone out to perform the on-site estimate. Both did a thorough room-to-room walkthrough and provided us with written estimates in a timely manner. The estimates came in very close to each other in terms of price. Our ultimate decision to go with Majestic was guided 1) by the fact that Majestic is a family-owned business and 2) that, with them, we had a moving truck dedicated to our goods alone, i.e., that our belongings would not be lumped in with those of two or three other households.
Ovando Thelwell, the owner, came to our home to do the estimate. He showed up right on time, was personable, low-key and very forthcoming with information. He spent a little over an hour with us, walking through the interior and inspecting the contents of two outdoor units -- a gardening shed and a Pod in the driveway that we had rented to store excess furniture, etc. while we were selling our home. Ovando satisfactorily answered all of our questions and was able to make the approaching  long-distance move seem less ominous than it seemed.  Also, while we had a settlement date for the sale of our home scheduled, he was agreeable to remaining flexible regarding packing and loading dates, should there be a change.
Once we had informed Majestic of our decision to go with them, Kanika Thelwell became our primary contact, and we interacted with her by both phone and email. Kanika confirmed the details of the move with us and worked up a service order for us to sign and return. A deposit of $250 was required at that time to reserve the dates and the truck.
The packing and loading was done on two consecutive days. My husband and I had packed our books, bedding, non-fragile items and most of our clothing, with Majestic taking care of furniture, breakables, kitchenware, artwork, home electronics, heavier items such as tools and gardening equipment, and hanging clothes. The two men who came to pack on the first day were a little late due to traffic, but that wasn't a problem. They called to let us know beforehand and they were so skillful and efficient once they got there that, even with a lunch break, they were finished by 1:45 pm -- fifteen minutes before their scheduled finish time. And the three men who came on the following day to load the boxes, disassemble, pack and load the furniture and any remaining items arrived punctually and worked tirelessly, completing everything within the scheduled timeframe. One of the three acted as crew chief, keeping a running inventory of what was being packed and directing what should go on the truck when. All were extremely hardworking and pleasant, and they were very careful not to damage any walls, floors or fixtures in our recently-sold house. We paid one-third of the total bill at this time.
Delivery at the other end of our move was scheduled for a week later. Knowing that it's hard to pinpoint an actual delivery time for a long distance move, we had asked Kanika whether it was likely we would see the movers in the morning or the afternoon. She said that, generally, they try to show up between  9:00 and 10:00 in the morning, but that the driver would call the day before with an estimated time of arrival.  However, we didn't get the call until the following morning, saying that they would be there around noon. Because our experience with Majestic and its crews had been so positive up to this point, we weren't overly concerned with this fact, but I do think they want to try and follow through on this as a matter of principle, for obvious reasons.
There were two men delivering, unloading, reassembling and placing the furniture in our new home and they did a fabulous job in a remarkably short time. One had been the crew chief at the other end and his memory of what came from where in the previous house was awesome.  As quick as they were, they didn't leave until they were sure we were satisfied with the placement of every box and every piece of furniture. The final balance of the bill was collected at this time.
After several days we noticed that there was a crack in the leg of our futon frame. But that was the only damaged item in the entire move. We didn't even bother to notify Majestic about it, since it was something we were able to easily repair ourselves and because everything else had arrived in such immaculate condition. It was evident, as we unpacked boxes, how much care had been taken in packing the items. Not a glass broken, not a lampshade ripped.
Overall, our experience with Majestic Movers was an extremely positive one and we would not hesitate to use them in the future.

I initally used Majestic to move into storage back in October 2012. I was quoted a price for 2 movers for 3 hours. They sent 3 movers insead but the price remained the same. This was a much appreciated extra touch. The guys were prompt and professional. They took great care to wrap anything breakable and moved everything at an impressive pace. I had the same flawless moving experience when I used them again in January to move into my house. I would absolutely recommend Majestic.

I received estimates from 3 companies to pack and move our belongings from our 2800 sq. ft. house in MD to a newly constructed 4300 sq ft house in VA.  I chose Majestic for the following 3 reasons:
1.  Most cost effective estimate
2.  The estimate was a "Not to Exceed" price, whereas the other 2 were not
3.  Ovando provided me the estimate on the spot (the other 2 emailed an estimate a few days later
Now that its over I can honestly say I was very impressed with the work that Majestic Moving performed.  These guys worked their tails off from ~8:30am until they finished around 7:30pm.  During it all they were exceedingly careful with our belongings and our new house.  Every single one of them was professional and courteous.  We have a few new scuffs in our stairways to the basement and 2nd level, but I was honestly surprised it wasn't a lot worse considering the passageways are so tight.  More importantly none of our items were damaged, which is the key to a successful move.
I hope I never have to move again but if I do I'm calling Majestic Moving.  I've already recommended them to all my friends.

Long story short:
Majestic Moving was fine. A moving day got set. On that day, I met the movers (3 men) at the storage place. They were punctual and professional. They soon had packed up and wrapped my furniture and off it went (to New Orleans by way of Texas).
I flew down to New Orleans to receive the load a few days later. A different Majestic crew (2 men) arrived in a truck at the New Orleans house, around the appointed time (I'd phoned the Majestic home office for bulletins about when the furniture would arrive.) They were as professional as the first crew. They unloaded my load. It was all there. No items was damaged.
I'd certainly use Majestic again.

My wife and I used Majestic Moving on Saturday 12/1 to move us from our apartment in Fairfax to a townhouse in Warrenton.  Overall, I was very happy with the movers themselves & the work they performed with the exception of a couple of things.
First, I made an appointment for 8A; however, the movers were unable to arrive that early.  They were not able to arrive until 11:30A due to difficulties securing a truck.  Kanika at Majestic called the night before to let me know about this, but at that time, she thought they would make it by 9A.  Unfortunately, the plans she described did not work out, and they were not able to make it until later.  This was a problem as we had plans which had to be postponed due to their late arrival.  Majestic did provide two additional movers at "no extra cost", so I was willing to forgive the late arrival.
The movers were quick and efficient.  We had a two-bedroom apartment on the 2nd floor, so they had to use the elevator and stairs to move our stuff to their truck.  We had packed everything, so all they had to do was move it.  They also disassembled our bed and plastic wrapped our couch to protect it during the move.  They were friendly, courteous, and worked diligently.  Once they got to our new place, it only took them about an hour to unload the truck.  We did not have any damage to any furniture.

Unfortunately, I did have an issue with the final price.  I was billed for 5 hours; however by my calculation, I should have been billed for 4 hours 15 minutes.  By my calculation, they spent 1.5 hours at the Fairfax residence + 1 hour at the Warrenton residence + 40 minutes drive between Fairfax & Warrenton + 1 hour drive time (as stipulated in the contract) for a total of 4 hours & 10 minutes.

I also had a problem with the fact that the movers even stopped for lunch on their way from Fairfax to Warrenton - knowing that they were 3.5 hours late to begin with.  Furthermore, there are no restaurants directly along the fastest route from Fairfax to Warrenton, so they obviously had to deviate from the most expeditious route to even find a fast food place (assuming they then ate in the truck on the way to Warrenton).  Mean while, we had to wait on them to arrive, thus further delaying our plans.

Anyway, I contacted Majestic, and expressed my dissatisfaction with the final bill.  It took them nearly a week to resolve the issue, but they finally sent me the following response:
"I apologize for the confusion. It would have been best address this the day of the move by calling the office. We could have then assessed whether the crew did stop for lunch or whether they ran into traffic, etc. Based on the gps directions used by the crew, the travel time between your current home and your new home is 45 minutes. We bill in 15 minute increments beyond our 4 hour minimum. Based on your timeline that would credit you for 30 minutes.  You should see a credit on your card of $75.00."
Assuming I receive this credit, I will consider the resolution satisfactory; however, in the future, I will confirm arrival & departure times with the crew to assure that we are all "on the same page".
I would use Majestic again in the future.  Again, they service they performed was very good.

We got a 10% discount from them for being a repeat customer.  They sent two people who arrived promptly, handled our possessions gently, laid down runners inside our home before moving the items in, and cleaned up completely after they were done.  We had a piano, amongst other fragile things, and they were very careful in their work.  The estimate was for four hours, and and they needed exactly four hours to move us.  We had agreed in advance to pay for four hours; but the movers thought we owed for transportation time, as well.  We called the office to ask about the additional charge, and they immediately cancelled it.
We would recommend Majestic highly.  They are a small, local, family-owned company, which we much prefer over a large national corporation.  Majestic has done a terrific job for us, again.

They showed up on time with 4 very fit and ready to work guys. I have been screwed over in the past with other companies who would send 2 people neither under the age of 70 but these guys were fit and healthy and in good spirits. They went over pricing with me and immediately went to work. We estimated it would take four hours since we had done most of the packing ourselves and planned on not taking everything but as we neared the end we realized we had a lot of time left over and they offered to grab additional things since it would be included in the balance anyway! They were careful with the loading and unloading. I would absolutely use them again in the future and/or refer them to any friend of mine!

Punctual. Very smooth job. Courteous, professional. The men wrapped mattresses and couches in plastic to avoid damage. Company provided boxes free of charge. We used their clothing boxes the day of the move.
Ovando did the estimate and was right on with the estimate. Received a 15% military discount.

Moving is never an enjoyable experience, but working with Majestic made our move about as uneventful and worry free as humanly possible.  We were blessed with a really terrific crew that took great care of our belongings, but having met the owner during the estimate, I know it was more than just dumb luck.  This is a well-run organization and I highly recommend them to anyone considering a local or long distance move.

We thought they were great. We had such a problem with the move and they were very accommodating. Dates were changing when we were closing on our house and closing on the new house and they were very accommodating. They just kind of stood by waiting for us to tell them when the date was. Things changed so rapidly but they managed to get us packed up and moved out and unpacked when we needed them. We thought the pricing was reasonable although we have nothing to compare it with.

I took an hour out of my Saturday to meet with the company's manager who came to my home; we had a normal discusion, and he looked around the house before giving me his estimate. It was a good price, and I said I would probably use it, but that I wanted to see the storage facility first. He said I needed to call his office to schedule that. When I did so, they said they would have to get back to me, which they did - only to say that the manager (Ovando?) had decided they were "not a good fit" for me; no other explanation was forthcoming. I asked him to give me a call, but he did not.
It appears they are none too anxious for people to actually see the storage facility. That is the only conclusion I could draw.

This was for moving a 3 BR townhome from Odenton MD to New Jersey (120 miles away). Kanika Thelwell provided me with a very fair estimate for moving expenses (in truth, this estimate was based on actual items to be moved rather that cost per time, since I had provided them with a list of everything that needed moving). The quote was very fair and I liked this since this would mean that I did not have to monitor the activities of the movers (and have to pay for down time).
When moving day arrived, the crew was composed of 3 burly men, and they arrived an hour late. No big deal. Everything was carefully packed and transported into the truck. By the time they arrived at the destination, they were clearly very exhausted, and the items were heavier than they had anticipated. I understand that. They took 6+ hours, unpacking and relocating things where they were supposed to go. As 9pm rolled by they got increasingly antsy since they had another 2+ hr commute back home. This is when professionalism started to slip a bit. They used my restroom and left it a disaster, and towards the end, the men asked me to help assemble the furniture and stated that they did not know how to assemble some of the furniture that they disassembled. Regardless, given how bad the moving industry is these days, I would say that they did a satisfactory job. The price was reasonable and for that I am grateful. The men, despite their lack of professionalism were clearly exhausted beyond all measure and I can sympathize with that. They received a generous gratuity on my part for the diligence they took in their job and for doing what they were supposed to very carefully.
Would I use them again? Absolutely. The issues I had with them were small potatoes compared to how well they performed their job.
