In the end, we did not select Mr. Ricks for our project for a few reasons. First, he wanted a much larger deposit than anyone else we talked to. He also had a waiting period of a few months, and wanted the deposit just to get in line. He was also not particularly interested in our small project, and his impressive knowledge was presented in a way that came across as a little arrogant. However, I am confident that he would have done high-quality work, even if it might have been a little more expensive than others we talked with.

We got DW Ricks' info from Angieslist, and hired them as our architects. From Day 1, they were professional, transparent and straightforward. Their work was of very good quality, and all of the timelines and deliverables were met on their end (we were even overseas at the time, and did most of the work via teleconference). If there was ever a delay on their part (no more than a week, in one case), they told us in advance. Basically, the project with this architectural firm was devoid of any stress, miscommunication or frustration. We are extremely happy with them, and would recommend David Ricks and his staff without hesitation.

Ricks led us comfortably through the entire design process, from concept, to final drawings, obtaining bids and supervising the work. Ricks' solutions to our architectural challenges were sublime. The addition is different from the original house, but integrates beautifully. Ricks is a small company and I never had a problem getting help or getting a response via email or telephone.
