Richard's Tree Service

We could not be more pleased with Richard's tree service! They provided us with a written estimate and were very nice about giving us a new estimate when we said we wanted to make a change in our original request. . They showed up when they said they would, did their work very competently, removed all the debris from all their work and when they left, except for the trees they had removed, you would not have known they had been here. They also saved the tree we wanted saved that was very close to a tree we wanted removed. We will definitely use them again!!!

I found them on Angie's List. They did very good work. They gave me the best estimate.

A group of seven workers was lead by Richard himself who also did the climbing in the oak tree. Everyone was cheerful and professional and worked quickly and safely. The cleanup was excellent. The only place to improve is punctuality, they were late getting started. They offered that there was a problem with one of the trucks. I guess it happens. I would be happy to use them again!

I love Richard's Tree Service. They're really nice, very professional and clean-up as well. A real person answers the phone. They're really honest about when they're going to get to you which is very important if a tree falls down across the street or another emergency happens after the rain. They're pretty much accurate with the time frame they give you. When we first got an estimate, the man that came out was very fair in the price. He itemized it by tree so we could decide what we wanted to do now and what we wanted to do later. He gave me a very competitive itemized estimate.

They were fast and punctual I just can't believe how much tree service is out here since there are so many trees....

This company was very responsive, showed up on time to provide a free estimate and seemed very knowledgeable and trustworthy. They gave us an honest opinion of what work needed to be done on trees in our backyard without pushing to get more work or do any unnecessary work. The representative provided a written, detailed estimate after discussing with us. Although I appreciated the high quality service, the quote was significantly higher than what we received from other companies. We may still decide to go with Richard's, but will negotiate with them on the price.

I appreciate that they came out to give me an estimate so quickly, but was shocked at their price.

We were so pleased with the work they performed. They arrived on time with a crew of 10 men and 2 trucks. They worked feverishly, pruning all trees at the same time, taking great care to remove all parts without damaging our property or yard. The person that provided me with the estimate (Charles Walters) came out at the beginning of the job to talk to the crew and explain exactly what we discussed, and then a certified arborist stayed with the crew for the entire job. The work they did on the Elm improved the look of the tree tenfold. When they were finished, I walked around the yard with the project manager who explained what was completed, and gave me advice about any additional trees to keep an eye on. I selected them after reviewing their reports on Angie's List, and I couldn't be happier with their service. Although they were slightly higher in price than the other 2 offers I received, I believe they were worth it. Highly recommend this company

We called for a estimate, they came next day and left written est. Included Angie's List discount. In about a week they came back and raised the canopy of the Oak and trimmed out dead and weak limbs in the tree. They did a fine job. And when they left they left no trace. Like the tree was trimmed by magic. Great Job.!!

They were courteous and prompt...arriving on time for the estimate and the job. The estimate was clear and to the point. They were very professional. We would hire them again without question.

I originally had contracted with Richard's Tree Service to cut dead branches from several trees. Shortly before they were scheduled to come to do the work we had a damaging thunderstorm which resulted in tree branch damage. The day that Richard Berube and his crew arrived I told him about the extra work I wanted done and he gave me a very reasonable price and did the work right then rather than setting up another day to do it. He had an 8 man crew all of whom were very courteous and professional. It was obvious that these men had worked together for some time and knew what they were doing. I had used Richard's Tree Service several times before so I knew what to expect and I was not disappointed.

They were very responsive and the rep was courteous and professional. The price quoted was very competitive. However, the rep mis-identified the species of tree, which didn't give me a warm and fuzzy feeling. We decided to go with another company at a comparable price but a more confident feeling about the company.

I got home about 9:30 a.m. and called Richards at 10:00. After they contacted the estimator, they gave me a call back to confirm when they would be by. They had an estimator out at 11:00 a.m. We signed the contract and they had a crew out by 12:30. It was apparent the crew had worked together before. The crew had all the necessary tools. They were quick and Richard was very good at explaining what they would do. They even put a temporary patch on the hole in the roof. The tree and debris was all removed by 4:00. It rained the entire time.

On the day of the service, a very large crew arrived and began to climb my tree using leg spikes. As the tree has enough challenges already with borers and insects, the use of spike to climb a tree one is trying to preserve (not take down) seemed less than ideal. I reminded the crew that my arrangement was that the tree was to be free-climbed. The foreman pulled the crew out and left, informing me that the job would be twice as long and expensive if they did not use climbing spikes. They were polite about it, but it wasted an entire work day for me. I got the impression they regarded my job as one they wanted to get done quickly and not particularly carefully.

I have used Richard's before. As before they did a great job. They returned my call within hours to set up an appointment to make an estimate the next day. They were the cheaper of the 2 estimates I had. They scheduled for 2 days after I called to let them know they had the job. They showed up right on time and did a great job in cutting and cleaning up. The whole job took them about 2 1/4 hours.

We've used Richard's Tree Service for 10 years, with a 2 year hiatus when we lived in another state. Having just moved back to NOVA, we knew who we wanted to call, but checked on Angie's List first (just to make sure they were still good), and there they were, ranked "A" with loads of happy customers, so we're adding ourselves to that list. They came within a few days, left an estimate, scheduled a time to come, did a great job getting the tree nicely pruned, and we hope to have many more years with this amazing maple and have nothing hit the electric lines! They are always professional, fast, and right on the money.

They provided an estimate within a day or two, and called to follow up to answer any questions I had. They offered a discount, but was still a little more expensive than the company I ended up using.

A Richards rep came out promptly and gave two written estimates, one for the removal of the entire tree, and one just for the removal of several large limbs. The estimate also included a certificate of liability insurance. He did not try to sell me on any additional work. After I contracted for the removal of the entire tree, the crew showed up as scheduled, and completed half of it the first day. Thunderstorms rolled in to the DC area, and Richards called to let me know that the crew would be back as soon as the weather cleared. As promised, the job was finished the third day, and I was not billed for any part of it until completion. I was impressed by Richard's professionalism, efficiency, and reliability, which is not my experience in dealing with tree businesses. I highly recommend Richards and plan to use them again in the future.

Fantastic job. The receptionist was prepared to send a arborist within 2 days of our call. The arborist showed up on the day of the work ahead of schedule and was done (as if he'd never been there...cleaning up all debris) in a couple of hours. There were several power lines near the trees, but none of them were affected. The price was incredible, too! They did forget to give us the 10% off for Angie's List members, but when I called they were incredibly apologetic and told us to simply send a check in for the difference.

I have used Richard?s Tree Service on a number of occasions to remove and trim trees.? They have provided detailed estimates and completed the work on the date as scheduled. ?Since they are willing to come and have come while I was not home, I cannot say how long it takes them to do the jobs, but the jobs have been done well and they leave the work site clean.? I believe their prices have been reasonable. ?I would definitely use them again.

They did a great job! The clean up was exceptional and they took the tree and all the debris with them when they left. There were no surprises during the course of the work. I will call them for any needed tree services.

I called Richard's to take care of the tree and they were able to fit me into their schedule without a problem. They did an excellent job on the tree and cleaned everything up. They removed all of the debris.

The estimator for Richard's Tree Service was in our area the day we called so he came right out. The work started the following day. They trimmed the trees quickly and efficiently. They were careful and respectful of my property. The trees look great.
