Had a great experience working with Sam for the initial walkthrough. Very friendly and provided a competitive estimate on the spot. Crew arrived on time, completely covered/protected all floors, cabinets, and furniture. Did a great job painting almost two full floors of my home including walls, trim, stairs, spindles, doors, and frames. Touched up all areas of concerned and did a good job cleaning up afterwards. Would recommend and use them again in the future.

Jayden's and Sam's crew did a good job with our 3000sqft interior painting. They were priced reasonably (~$1000 cheaper than the competitors) and finished the job within a day. There were previous reviews that mentioned about no-action response for fixing a few touches, so we initially agreed to pay 90% of the contract upon completion of the job then the remaining 10% after we have thoroughly inspect and the paint is totally set and dry. We found a few imperfections several days after the job, we were in touch for a couple of weeks before one of their crew members was able to come back and did a free touch-up job.

They were excellent. They show up with enough people and did a great job.

Fabulous. Mr. Kim met his workmen at the house at 8:00 a.m as promised. We walked through the house and he was exceedingly diligent about what got done. Once through that, the workmen spread drop clothes virtually everywhere and began their painting. They finished up about an hour ago and the work is excellent. Good coverage, no issues, no mess. Highly recommended.

Sam King is a friendly and seemingly accommodating representative. The interior painting plus deck scraping and power washing and installing exterior lights went fairly well. The painting of the garage was terrible. Large pieces of paint began peeling within the week. Work was done in 2015 and we have been trying to get them to address this problem since then. Company owner visited to inspect work and said a crew would come to fix the problem. Never happened and have had several promised since then that a crew would come to fix the work. No one has come despite their reviving a registered certified letter from us this July with photographs included.

excellent - we lucked out with Sam and his crew for painting exterior of our house. We got their estimate several weeks before but undecided. He called back fortuitously on the last warm weekend of fall 2016. We had negotiated initial price, but turned out we wanted more work than original spec. Turned out we got everything we wanted and they had excellent recommendation to paint gutter and fix rotted out wood on porch and window sills. It was paint and repair throughout and they did a thorough job. They got custom color that we wanted, repaired porch, scraped old paint from sills and replaced rotted wood framing for side door to garage. They did excellent job in scraping and painting our patio french doors which had water damage - made them look new. Neighbors remarked what a good job they did...it made the house look like new. Sam had great follow-up and so glad he persisted in calling us back up. His crew are expert in painting and repair. Definitely would hire them to do other jobs again.

They did a great job. They were on time. They cleaned up after their work. They skim coated and painted two bathrooms, put up drywall in our family room and painted it, and they also painted another bathroom. They were very good. I didn't have any problems with them.

Sam was very responsive - sending prompt responses to questions and project proposal drafts by email, and calling to follow-up within 24 hours (or less!). Sam and another wall specialist came to assess our options for smoothing the unwanted texture on our walls and ceilings, and provided us with an estimate that was both thorough and very appealingly priced. Any concerns we had about Friendly's pricing as it related to their quality were quickly allayed. The crew arrived as scheduled, and had completely prepped our main floor for the work within their first 15 minutes on site. The crew's work over the week of work was steadily paced but thorough. The crew double checked all colors with us prior to painting, and were good about communicating with us about their progress as they worked (this was especially helpful, as it was a week-long job). Sam and the crew had warned us that there might be slight imperfections in the paint after it had had a few days to settle, as a result of the smoothing process. They very helpfully came back to do touch-ups on these areas a few days after the initial painting, and assured us they would come back again if we found any other areas of imperfection. The only thing that detracted from an otherwise excellent job was the fact that the work ran several hours longer than expected on the final day of work. We had a cleaning crew scheduled (separately) to give our home a thorough cleaning post-painting, and the two teams overlapped due to the delay by Friendly in completing the final trim and touch-up work. Otherwise, we have been extremely pleased with our newly painted (smooth!) walls and ceilings - at a price that simply could not be beat!

Do not use this company, as they do not finish the job. If something goes wrong after they have been paid, they will not come back to complete the work. I had to have them repaint things when they were still here. They do not stand behind their work. They broke my light fixture and fan cover. They put the doors back on the hinges before they were dry, and now I have marks on the doors, door frames and the adjacent wall that were caused by the top door stopper having paint all over it. They did not paint the bottom of both of the doors and you can see the old paint from before. They did not paint behind the toilet in my guest bathroom, like they said they would. All the walls in the master bathroom will need to be repainted because there are spots on all the walls that you can clearly see where they missed applying a second coat. You can see patches where they drywalled my walls and the mud is showing through. Those walls will also have to be repainted. He would not allow his company to fix anything. He told me he was going to do the repairs at first. He sent his men out to do the repairs and when they saw what needed to be done, they called Sam, who was the man in charge of the job, and Sam told them not do the work. He then tried to get more money from me in order to do the repairs, I said I would not pay more because the work was in the contract. Then he said he wasn't going to do the work. I said he could not do that because we have a contract. and then he tried to say that I refused to let them do the work, which I said was not true! I never refused to let them do the work, I wanted him to finish up and he never did.

I requested an estimate and Sam Kim responded within 2 days. Showed up on the day scheduled with a 6 person crew ands worked quickly. Job was done neatly and profesionally. I used another painter in Northern Virginia and find Friendly to be much better at this kind of work. I will certainly use them again.

From the estimator to Sam, the scheduler to the crew of painters, everyone was very polite and professional. I was able to get the original job scheduled within a few days. Loved their work, called to have them do some additional work and was able to have it scheduled the next day. The price included all the paint, primer etc. They arrived promptly and were like an army of painters carefully laying and taping drop cloths to protect the floors etc. Most of the work was completed the first day but a few painters returned the next day to finish up the cabinets. The quality of their work is top notch. Everything is perfectly done, no crooked lines, drops of paint etc. They completely cleaned up the work areas. We are extremely happy with this company and highly recommend them!

Friendly is awful. Without a doubt, the worst contractor with whom I've ever been associated. If you want a poor product for a mid-leval price, go for it, but be prepared to be lied to about completion dates, deceived about hte progress of the job, and greatly unimpressed with the quality of the work. Friendly is a company that has no business taking on jobs outside of their specialty -- painting. If you want your house painted, they can do that. If you want more, look elsewhere, or I promise you that you'll be very, very disappointed.

They were able to accommodate my second choice for scheduling, and on the day of, they arrived with about 10 painters. They finished all of the work in one work day. I was amazed by the quick turnaround, and all of the work was high quality. They checked in afterwards to see if everything was ok. There were a few snafus, but they fixed them. On the day of, I explained to the head person that I wanted a color that was painted on the living room wall matched at the paint store, and I gave them the color code. He didn't speak a lot of English, and he showed me a color that was in an entirely different color family thinking that was the one I wanted. One of the painters jumped in and said he understood what I was looking for. I worried a little that they would purchase the wrong color and that my room would be painted the wrong color, but in the end, they got in right. The other issue was that the crown molding had a seam that was directly above the fireplace, and in my mind, the eye was drawn directly to it. I hadn't realized there would be a seam, and if I did, I would have asked for them to make sure it was located somewhere less obvious. They came out and patched it up, and in the end, although I can still see it if I look, I eventually forgot about it, and it's no longer the first thing I see when I look at the room. All in all, I think they did a great job, and I wouldn't hesitate to hire them again or to recommend them. Also, I should add that I think their price is very reasonable for the work they do.

It went really well. Scheduling was no problem. They were done timely and to budget. The work was done in my mother-in-law's apartment and she was comfortable with the team working and happy to get it done in less than a day. We would be happy to use them again.

The estimate was provided promptly. The workers showed up on time. They performed the worked requested and completed it in just under the two days they stated they would. As they finished up the rooms, I reviewed them. There were only a few small areas that needed a little more attention. These were quickly remedied and the end results were excellent. Communication during the process was very good. The only thing keeping me from giving them an A for quality is that they used a fairly cheap grade of paint, but I can't really fault them as I did not specify the grade of paint to be used except in the bathrooms, where they used the paint that I specified. I would not hesitate to hire them in again. They were the cheapest of the three estimates, but we will most likely use them when we paint the rest of the rooms in the house because they did a very good job.

It went fairly well. They cleaned up their stuff. My only complaint was that it actually took an extra day than they planned but it wasn't a huge deal. I'd rather take an extra day and have good work. I chose them because of their rates and also the time frame. They could get started quickly unlike some other companies that wouldn't be able to come out for a month or so.

They were okay, no complaints. They were on time. The only issue was that the project manager only came on the first day, he said he was going to come back on the last day to finish up but he didn't, I would have preferred if he would have come back to inspect.

They came in and took a look at what I wanted done. He was dressed professionally, which impressed me as I didn't know if a painter would come in with paint all over him. He wrote everything down, took my email address and followed up with me in a timely fashion. I was really impressed at the way in which he conducted business. I think what they quoted us was probably average for the work that we wanted done. It was within line of the other quotes we got. The project was just cost-prohibitive for us.

Overall everything went great. Tom was very punctual in dealing with me through the estimation and work process. The work was performed quickly and generally of great quality. There were some minor issues with the painters not removing outlet covers to do the painting, but I pointed it out and Tom took care of it quickly. I would gladly recommend them to others!

We received estimates from 3-4 providers to paint our entire newly purchased home. We were under time pressure because closing had been delayed and we had a move in date with a week window in between. We thought we had a painter lined up but their final walk thru estimate increased over 120% so we were in a panic. Friendly performed an estimate and assured us that they could perform in the time we needed plus get all of the repairs and painting done around the carpet installation. Ricardo's team started a couple of days later and they were nothing short of miracle workers. They worked really well together! They were very detailed (high gloss white trim everywhere, including wood grids that had to come out of every window) and worked really hard to meet our deadline. The previous owner had a hideous to us faux marble paint treatment in the dining room that required a lot of sanding and special primer. The smell gave an instant headache but the team kept right on moving. The dining room looks great. We loved the colors we chose once we saw their work and we only had a few go-back items as the days went along. We will definitely have them back to paint the outside in the spring. I can't say enough good things about Ricardo; he was everything a nervous-nelly-in-the-aftermath-of-a-late-closing-about-to-move-in wants. Thank you Friendly!!

They said that they would email the estimate to us within the week. After waiting over a week we called them to find out about the written estimate. They said that they were waiting for a quote on the columns and would send us something shortly. We did not receive an estimate from them. They should have at least given us an estimate for the painting. We hired another company. The lack of communication and responsiveness is the reason for the F.

Great work, walls and trim and ceilings look great. Very easy to work with, very responsive to emails and calls. Lead workman spoke English. Wonderful about adding last minute work. Very easy to schedule. Overall a great experience. I would use them again. Why not an A? Clean up was subpar. Paint splatters left on windows and switches had paint on them. Some wall plates were put back up before paint dried, so were stuck on. Other wall items were not removed for painting. I bieve I could have had them back to address these issues without a delay or problem, I had my furniture and household delivered in short order and didn't want to deal with it all. We cleaned it up. That is the only reason they didn't get an A.

Friendly Painting did a fabulous job correcting my painting mistakes! I was doing touch up paint in the condo living room with 18 feet walls in preparation for my new renters. I ran into trouble when the old paint in the can had dried up, Sherwin Williams no longer carried the same color and there was a different formula that they were never (after numerous tries) able to match up for me. While mixing and trying to match, I painted over the old and new paint in a few places and tried out the new shades. I eventually arrived at the matching color, but the sheen was all wrong with the natural window lighting and the original eggshell paint looking more flat after a few years. From the angle in the kitchen looking through the cut out to the living room, my touch up work looked awful with the lighting and stuck out like a sore thumb. I finally gave up and decided to call a professional painting company! I found Friendly Painting on Angie's list and they answered after 5P! Tom Seo, the owner, listened to my sob story and gave me a quote (with a 10% Angie discount) and said a team would be out the next afternoon! He reassured me that they were excellent painters and would resolve my painting problems. They were an hour late in arriving, but more than made up for it in their professional techniques to correct my blunders! Yes, they tried to sand and roller over my painting, but when I pointed out how my work was still showing through, Jose quickly came up with a plan and the perfect solutions! He got Armando and Abdias to spackle over a few places, the hair dryer came out and within a few minutes the roller paint covered everything perfectly. They completed my job in about 2 hours (with a 20 minute break to let the first coat of paint dry before the 2nd one was applied), with Armando high on the ladder, Abdias doing the cut in work and Jose rollering. The final result is that my living room walls look gorgeous! I will use this company again and certainly hope I get this same team of Jose, Armando and Abdias! They worked well as a team, were very knowledgeable about their work and were a joy to have in my home.
