Exceptionally well. As a matter of fact they came out at a later date to install a missing shingle on another part of the roof that they failed to accomplish the first time---all at no additional cost.

Horrible estimate consultation. He showed up wreaking of smoke and came across pretty negative about the job. His measurements of the existing curb contradicted the measurements that I had taken and because of that he said he needs to special order the skylight. I wouldn't have had a problem with that except that I had already received 3 other estimates for the same job and all had come up with the same measurements which contradicted with the measurements this guy came up with. None of the other companies had any problem using a standard sized skylight and were all confident that the job was fairly simple and easy to do using a standard sized skylight. He insisted that the other companies didn't know what they were talking about and couldn't see how they could fit a standard sized skylight in the existing opening. After he left I remeasured the opening and verified that my original measurements were correct. He was a full 1/2 inch off. Over all this guy was just rude and combative.

There was minor leakage in the ceiling and they had to figure out what it was and how to repair it. We called them on a Friday and they came on Monday. They went up on the roof, took pictures, and showed them to us and we decided to get it fixed. I like that they came immediately, they did the job professionally, and they cleaned up after themselves. It was expensive but it got the job done.

In 2004 they gave us an estimate to replace our entire roof for $2500.00 in which the actual Invoice came around $6500. When asked why such a difference in price they said because they did not tell how muc FRT board needed to be replace - so the price went up. My complaint was, if you could count to 4 why not 12! My attic is so huge you can create another level so it would have been Crystal Clear how many board needed replacing. Essentially Kevin gave us a low price to get the job. We had just moved into the house with new baby so the suprise bill was unerving. Now it's been 5 1/2 years later and my roof is leaking! Clearly it's leaking, and when they came out to look at it Kevin agreed and said he was going to have someone else come out and look at it. They sent another guy out less than a week. This guys was even more condensending, rude with a matter of fact attitude. He told me that the leak was "Not a Leak" but just stain on the wood. I told him, that the "stain" has not always been there - we went back and forth over this, the company said IF I ever see leaking then to call them....Well, I see WET boards all over my attic right after the snow, so this will become a bigger problem for me soon. My father who is 65 years old got on the roof, looked at and there are LOW NAILS everywhere. Basically, when installing the roof, they nailed in some of the nails below the shingle - so water is getting in. I basically have a s***** roof that is suppose to last 15-20 years. This company is a hit or miss. If they are in a good mood they may provide you with what you need. Otherwise I would simply use another company to avoid the risk. As it stands today, I will be using a different company to just fixed what they did not, and pointedly told me that they would not. Oh not too mention that the crappy roof cost me over 6k!

The contractor visited my home and provided a price proposal for the work on the same day that I called. As this was a non-standard size it was considered a special order; the contractor specified that there would be a lead time to recieve the materials. I signed the contract that same day. They notified me by telephone of the intended delivery and installation and the skylight was delivered within the timeframe stated. The day after the skylight arrived, the workcrew arrived to install it. They were courteous, executed the work in a timely manner and departed with all old materials and packing debris. All staff that I spoke to, both on the telephone and in person, were very professional.

The gutters are shared with my neighbor, and the neighbor didn't realize there was a problem with the gutters. I was just trying to replace my side. I had a difficult time getting anyone to give me a reasonable estimate. People were giving me $4,000.00 estimates. It took me 6 months to find them. Springfield Roofing got the job done. They talked to the neighbor, and no other company would. It happened to be the perfect day that they came. There was a lot of ice standing on the neighbor's side, and then my neighbor agreed to have them done. When the other companies came they would just submit a bid to me, and not talk to my neighbor. I must have called 10-15 places. They did the work. You wouldn't have known they were here afterwards.

Four workers arrived as scheduled. They removed old roof and hauled away debris. They replaced a few damaged boards at $120 additional charge per contract. Put on the new material. Work took most of two days. Left the area clean. Work looks great. I expect the work to last well beyond the guarantee and be easy to repair when problems develop. I consider this a premium roof. I could have spent less money and gotten an asphalt shingle roof, but I wanted something more durable. I coild have spent more for an aluminum roof with probable life of 50 years. That I felt was excessive.

The existing roof was not completely worn, but wind damage was evident, The previous owner had installed a new roof over older asphalt tiles without replacing them about twelve years earlier. I requested estimate on replacing the roof. The estimator said he would need to replace plywood adjacent to the neighboring roof to bring the roof up to code. He said the two lower roofs and rear portion of the main roof were not damages and had 4-7 good years ahead. He said he had materials and would be able to complete the work in no more than a couple of days. He called to give warning as promised, completed the job on time, and cleaned up without a trace. The new roof and vent look good, and the work is guaranteed for ten years. Highly recommend.
Description of Work: A portion of the roof on my townhouse was leaking, and the screening under the eaves was torn in several places. The contractor replaced the front half of the roof, including new fire-resistant plywood sheets on the portion adjacent to the neighboring roof. He repaired the chimney flashing, replaced the eave screening, and installed a new attic vent, .

Springfield Roofing was very responsive and sent an estimator over the next day after my call. When we put the ladder on the roof, he immediatley identified the problem - dirty gutters.Rather than write an estimate for a service call, he simply removed the debris and solved the problem. No charge! I have dealt with this company for the last four years and consisently found them to not only do excellent work, but they work clean, are reliable, honest and responsive. I wouldn't consider calling any other roofer for anything relating to my roof and gutter needs.

They told me that the job would be done in one day. I was disappointed that they didn't arrive until 11am on the day they said they would show up. They just unloaded their materials and left the first day. They came back the next day I kept calling- and they told me that they had to get materials. They ended up showing up the next day at 7:10 am and finished the job in one day. They did a good job with the clean up in the end.

None of the work was completed as advised. Crew arrived unannounced to construct roof. Crew assigned to complete the job did not speak any English! No foreman available on site during job or to inspect completed job. Significant issues with completed roof, i.e. damaged and improperly applied shingles, exposed nails, improperly applied flashing and drip edge, exposed/unsecured electrical cords, and cable line. Also irreparable damage to siding. Company owner refused to completely correct all of the documented, warranted repairs. Roof continued to deteriorate after completed job.

They did a great job. Access to our back patio is either thru our neighbors yards or over our shed. They decided to use ladders to go over our shed, even with all their materials. That impressed me. They worked hard, efficiently, and cleaned up after themselves. The one issue we had was with an old pipe attached to the house that was in their way. They took photos of everything when they gave the estimate, but when they came to do the work, they said cutting this pipe was going to be an extra $60 (it was thick and they'd ruin a saw blade). I feel like it is there job to catch that with photos during estimate time but we paid it anyway.

The salesman responded very quickly to my request for an estimate. The price was very reasonable. He measured my skylights. They needed to be custom-made. The skylights that had been there were plexiglass and so the price he gave me originally was for plexiglass. He called to say we should be getting glass instead and that it would cost about $300 more. That was reasonable. He ordered the skylights which he said would take 2-3 weeks to receive. I emailed him at two weeks and he scheduled the installation for the following week. Workmen showed up when expected. They removed the old skylights, prepped for the new ones, placed them over the openings and returned the next day to fully secure them and caulk around them. They seem to be working well. We have had a few soaking rains and no problems so far. The best thing was that of three bids I received, they were half the price and obtained the skylights from the same manufacturer. One bidder did not know where to obtain the custom skylights.
Description of Work: Springfield roofing replaced leaking skylights. They measured, ordered, and installed custom skylights. Everything went without a hitch. The workmen seemed very knowledgeable. My sales person seemed honest and was very responsive.

Mike, an estimator, came out the day after I called to set up an appointment. He inspected the roof and came down with digital pictures. He explained what needed to be repaired and how the company would do so. SF was the only company that explained in detail how the roof was to be repaired. This was pretty important as I began to learn that some roofers just slap on some roof tar, while others, like SF heat fuse new roof material to the leaks (the latter being a superior method). SF was also one of the two companies that said that I needed to re-flash the skylight (the source of the leak). Most of the other roofers said I just had to re-seal the leaking areas, which I think would have done the trick, but SF's method of redoing the skylight installation seemed like a more thorough fix. They also said that they would reuse the old skylight, though another company told me that I needed a new one because after the repairs, the old skylight would not fit. I received an estimate by email the next day and after some follow up the final price was $1500. The estimate was clear and listed the kind of materials that they would use. There were a few spots on the roof that weren't included in the estimate, so Mike said that I could just write in the missing information in the contract and email it back to him. I also asked for references of people in the area who had similar work done, but Mike never called me back with the info. The price was about in the middle of the other estimates I received. The only reason I used another company was because the other company said that they would do the same work, but install a new skylight for about $150 more. SF said it would cost $350 more for a new skylight. I didn't need a new skylight, but thought I would get one since the other company offered one for a decent prices. All in all, I think SF is a good company and I would use them in the future (I would have rated everything an "A" if I had received a call back with the references).

This contractor took 5 visits to my home to get an estimate, perform the work, inspect the original work, and 2 visits to fix discrepancies from the original work. It should have been done in 2 visits. The estimator, Michael Bennett, was very helpful. He inspired confidence so I went with them despite not being the cheapest offer. I was out of town during the original installation. When I returned, I noticed numerous issues with the shingles not laying properly. At first Michael told me they would lay flat with warmer weather, but it didn't look right so he came out to look. As we looked at the front of the house, he instantly acknowledged problems with the shingles and offered to fix them. They came and fixed everything in front, but failed to correct the same problems in the back of the house. I called again and they returned to fix the back (without letting me know they were coming so I wasn't home again). All is fine now, but it was a real hassle dealing with Springfield Roofing. I'm the kind of person who rarely complains...let that guide your decision making about this contractor.

Bruce was my main point of contact and he was very nice, responsive and professional. We started the process around the holidays and Bruce and his boss were readily available throughout that time. Mike also worked on the job and I was impressed with him as well. The rates were a little out of our budget, but the quality of work made it worth it. They were very clean, punctual and quick to get the job done when the weather cleared up. They provided quality products and our deck was rebuilt to the original specifications. We've had a couple of rains/snows and so far no leaks!
Description of Work: The main roof on our rowhouse was patched and repaired (no leaks, just preventative maintenance) and the smaller roof on the extension in the back of the house had the roof completely replaced because of leaks. There was a wooden deck on this part of the house, so they also had to remove the deck to do the work, and rebuild it.

The existing roof was leaking into the house. The estimator came within 24 hours of my initial call and was prompt. He sent an estimate within 3 days, and sent a revised estimate once we chose material for the cupola. He explained everything thoroughly and answered all my questions. The crew arrived at the agreed-upon day and time. The foreman was very responsive and answered all my questions. The work started and did not stop until the job was finished. One roofer even came back when it was raining and worked for several hours. They even scraped and painted an ornamental spire on the cupola. My house is an 1896 row house, and I was concerned about losing its character or making in stand out from the others on the block. I need not have worried. The roof looks great. I am very satisfied with the Ecostar slate. It's hard to tell it's not real slate. The crew cleaned up at the end of every day and again when the entire job was finished. There have been several heavy rains and even some snow since the new roof was installed, and there have been no leaks. I have no reservations about using them again or recommending them to others. There was an additional charge of about $100 to replace rotted wood, which makes the final cost higher than the estimate. They told me in advance that this might need to be done, and I have no problem with that.

It went very well. They were close to their estimate. They did the job professionally. I think they did a great job. I'm actually in a townhouse community of 180 houses, and I would say in the last four or five years they've probably done 3/4 of the roofs in the development. I thought the price was reasonable. I would use them again in the future. In fact, I also had them do siding on my house.
