Do not contract with this company.  
The project was originally estimated to take 6 weeks or so, and lasted from June 4, 2012 until labor day when we finally had a working sink in the kitchen.  Materials which were "on order" took way too long to arrive and be installed.  The contractor on the job did as best he could under the circumstances, and the final installation was of good quality with a couple of exceptions.   As a final insult, we paid a substantial sum of money for some custom made walnut countertops.  One was improperly scribed and did not fit properly against one wall.  Southern Kitchens agreed to furnish a back splash to cover the gap, but has never done so.  A letter to them dated October 10 was never answered, and voice mail messages were not responded to.  I withheld payment of part of the final invoice as an incentive for Southern Kitchens to get its act together and complete the job, or at least communicate with me what was going on, but have heard nothing.  This leads me to conclude that they overcharge for their material and can afford to write off punch list complaints and blow off customers.  Other detail items were never fixed as well (replacing two knobs on kitchen cabinet, replacing plumbing fixture which did not match the finish of others.) 
I would strongly discourage any customer considering looking at Southern Kitchens to look elsewhere for design services.  Even a skilled designer who cannot effectively communicate with his customers an does not bother to follow up on details and complete a job is just not worth the hassle.
