The comapny was easy to contact, and very quick to get back with me, and set up a time that was convienent for me to meet with them about getting new doors. The gentleman, Tyler, was very patient in explanations, and the price was reasonable. The problem for us came after our meeting with them. I was also getting estimates from other companies, and, we had alot of travel going on  at that time, so getting back to them about choosing them took a while. I kept in constant contact with Tyler about our situation, as I did with the other company. The other Comapny was so understanding, and non-aggressive or pushy, while this company became pushy, and telling me how rude it was not to give them an answer. When I got that email saying that statement, I gave them their answer that day! we would not be using them.

NOVA Exteriors did a great job.  Our salesperson, Kevin Conley, was very knowledgeable about the product line and very responsive by phone and email to our many questions.  Kevin also was extremely helpful with color selections for the outside window trim and with helping us coordinate an overall color scheme for the outside of the house.  I got periodic phone calls from the NOVA office updating me on the status of the window delivery.  Everyone at NOVA seemed very experienced and the installers functioned as a well-oiled machine.  The lead installer told me he has installed 2,000 windows!  We were recommended to NOVA from a neighbor on our street who also had their windows replaced and we have been totally satisfied with NOVA Exteriors.

We contacted Nova Exteriors based on numerous positive reviews for doors on Angie's List.  Kevin from Nova Exteriors came to our house to take a look at our existing doors and go over options with us.  We had previously heard that ProVia doors were the way to go, but were a little taken aback at how expensive they were.  Kevin confirmed that the general estimates we'd gotten elsewhere were in the right ballpark and then explained why Nova recommended that specific brand - in his words "they don't call us back", meaning that they were of such high quality that Nova very rarely had any issues at customers' homes that needed to be fixed once they were installed.  We were anxious to get the doors installed as soon as possible since we colder weather would be coming on soon.  Kevin and Nova worked with us and our doors were installed literally four weeks after Kevin's first visit to our house.  That is amazing and I have to commend Nova on their incredible promptness as well as the fantastic quality of the doors and the installation.  For those reasons alone I would recommend them to others.
We did have two small issues.  We had a custom shade on our existing back door; the crew took the shade with the door and we were not able to get it back.  Nova provided us with a different (new) shade, but it was of much lower quality than the one we lost.  There was also a mix-up regarding which way the screen door on the rear of the house should be hung, i.e., which way it should swing.  We understood one way, while the installers understood the other. This was somewhat of a big deal since the doors are custom made and you can't simply switch the hardware to the other side to re-hang them.  We looked over all the notes and paperwork that we'd signed, but could find no mention of which way the storm door should hang.  It looks like it was just a mix-up, and there wasn't much to be done about it.  After talking about the issue with the folks at Nova, we just decided to let it rest.  The door is perfectly functional; we just wish it swung from the other side of the door casing.  Again though, I would still recommend Nova Exteriors; as with any vendor you just need to be clear about expectations on all sides.

In the end an excellent experience. The salesman was knowledgeable and listened well to my needs. The install occured sooner than promised...a good thing. The install crew was quick and efficient. The windows are super! However, I found out the screens could not be removed and on one of the windws the sashes couldn't be removed for cleaning. I must say that they did work at it until it was all satisfactorily resolved. Turns out the windows, being sliders, may have been a bit unusual for this manufacturer to make. NOVA had the manufacturer make all new screens the proper size and two new sashes the correct size. They were friendly and helpful throughout the process. I would use them again and highly recommend this company.

I was already working with a general contractor and having some painting done. I wanted the house painted before the gutters were installed. They worked with the painter to have the gutters removed, the house painted, and the new gutters installed. They kept the copper gutters for me so I could take them to the recycling plant, which was nice. They worked quickly and were neat. They missed a few things but when I called them came right back and fixed them. They did exactly what I asked of them.

We found the qualify to be exceptional. Our house looks great! The siding job was done very quickly and Nova dotted all the i's and crossed all the t's.  The deck project was delayed due to required approvals from the county, but the deck turned out great and is exactly what we were looking for.  Kevin stayed with us throughout the project and was very responsive to issues as they arose. We also regularly interacted with Pete, the owner of Nova, who helped make sure we were happy.  We had a few coordination issues, but all issues were resolved to our satisfaction and Nova stood behind their guarantees and work product. I would recommend using Nova.

Nova Exteriors receives an OUTSTANDING review from our house in Alexandria, VA.
Ray White, one of Nova Exteriors' sales reps, came to our house and did a very thorough analysis of our requirements, showed us samples of what Nova Exteriors would install, gave us an estimate which was below most of the other 5 quotes we received.  I was particularly impressed that Nova Exteriors is a Platinum installer of Provia doors.  Nova Exteriors worked extensively to order exactly what we desired in our front door replacement with sidelights, and Fypon fluted pilasters, and specially ordered cap headers with dentil and trim moulding and Schlage polished brass with lifetime warranty for door knobs, Colonial Door Knocker, Schlage lock,  magazine slot and polished brass hinges.
Nova Exteriors removed our 30yr old aluminum siding and replaced it with Mastic insulated siding with an exact color matching to our
Marvin windows. Replaced the gutters and downspouts and covered all exterior wood with aluminum covered with vinyl - same exact color match to our windows. Replaced shutters.- This work took a week to accomplish.
Nova Exteriors removed our (2) 36" wood doors and replaced them with a (1) 36" Provia steel door Schlage bright brass lifetime finish door accessories with (2) 14" Provia sidelights with glass windows. They removed the surrounds of our door and cap headers over 1st floor windows and replaced them with Fypon surrounds that Nova Exteriors had painted to match our Marvin windows. - This work took a 1-1/2 days to accomplish.
In my opinion, Nova Exterior's quality of professional installation cannot be exceeded. All workers provided an impeccable daily
cleanup. They accomplished everything requested of them. We have received many remarks from neighbors who said our house looks well restored.

We were very happy with them.  Part of the reason we went to them was because of their high rating on Angie’s List.  Their service was excellent on every aspect.  So far, to date, we are very happy.  They were very responsive and punctual. They did the work not only when they said but they did it quickly.  They cleaned up well.  Every question we asked they answered immediately.

This is my first time purchasing an entry door and until now, I never realized how much they cost. Grr!
After receiving estimates from other companies, I purchased my front door from Nova Exteriors.  The salesperson, Gustavo Placeres, made me feel confident in their abilities and their doors are just beautiful. The lifetime warranty on the door removed my reservations about spending so much on a door.
I knew I wanted a door with a glass insert and Nova Exteriors offered multiple options.  Though I knew what I wanted, Gustavo made great design suggestions, and also warmed me of potential design and security pitfalls.  We created a model of my new entry doorway using an iPad. It was cool because I was able to customize every detail of my new door and view it in advance before any decisions were made. I knew exactly what I was getting.  After I ordered the door, I made a last-minute color change.  Nova Exteriors accommodated my request with no additional charges or delays.
The installers were wonderful. Professional, knowledgeable, considerate, efficient and clean!  They removed and hauled away ALL materials from the old door.  They literally went to the bricks of the threshold.  My entryway is completely brand new. They moved the door back a few inches to align better with the interior of my home--their idea, not mine.  The door closes securely and tightly, alllowing no drafts to seep in.  Everything was replaced, including the moulding inside my home,  and I'm overjoyed with the result. The attached before-after pic says it all.
I had to leave for an appointment before the installers completed the job (they were home alone) but I think it took approx. 5 hours to install my door. I absolutely love it!
If money were no object I'd have Nova Exteriors replace every door in my house. Until then, I'll enjoy my new front entry!

We have owned our home since early 2000 and the family room was built about 10 years before that time.  The room has several Pella wood casement windows with one picture window in the middle that does not open.  Since we have owned the house, we have had to have repairs made on the picture window due to a leak that has been difficult to pinpoint and permanently resolve.  With the most recent occurrence, we literally saw a crack/opening in the sill where the rot was occurring.  KC Company (Pella's repair service. co.) refused to do anything about it since it was the window sill (right where the window met the sill) even though it obviously had something to do with the way the window was sealed.  Pella never followed up with us in regard to replacing the window probably since only one window was affected by the rot (in previous visits, they would only replace the entire section of four windows - not just one).
Since we have worked with NOVA Exteriors on previous projects (the installation of a bay window in Spring 2011 - fabulous job; and some weather stripping replacement for some of the Pella casement windows), we called them to see what they could do.  We met with Ray who very kindly and thoroughly explained our options.  David came out and did the final measurements and double checked that it was, indeed, possible to replace this center window without disturbing the two side casement windows and decorative "eyebrow" window on top.
Today, David and P.J. removed the old window (very nasty, indeed!) and installed the new one.  My husband and I actually think the new window blends in better than the old one did!  The workmanship, professionalism of the two gentlemen was excellent and they did a wonderful job cleaning up after the work was finished - can't even tell they were here!

I've used NOVA Exteriors on three separate occasions to replace the windows, siding, and front door on my townhome.  The experience was great from first contact through project completion.  The salesman didn't not do a hard sale.  They follow the salesman up with a someone who remeasures for size.  The products arrive within time estimated and the installation takes place within time estimate.  The down payment is low.  On the day of the work, the workman arrived on time, worked hard, and cleaned up after each day and each job.  The crew was clearly experienced and knew what they were doing.  In the three years, since my siding has been replaced, I have not had siding blow off and the rattling from the siding in the wind has diminshed signficantly.  I would use NOVA Exteriors again.

We were quoted $2035.00 for the work and they needed a $65.00 deposit so they could order the materials. Mr. McSherry stated that it would take about 3 weeks to get the materials and schedule the installation. We informed him that we have two large dogs and a dog door so they need to notify us when they are coming so we can close the dogs in and that we would like to clean the capped fascia after they remove the old gutters, which he noted on the contract. A week later he came by with the installer to measure the gutters and a few days after that he came by to take photographs. Within the 3 weeks Mr. McSherry call and said the crew would be by Thursday of Friday to install the gutters. We reminded him that they need to call prior to showing up so that we could lock the dogs inside. Friday afternoon Mr. McSherry called to see how the installation went. We informed him that after staying home from work all day Thursday and Friday, they never showed up. He stated that they had marked that the work was completed Friday morning. After checking he called me back and informed us that they installed the gutters on the wrong house. I voiced my discontentment and our concern about the quality of their work if they can't even figure out which house to work on. His response was, people make mistakes and they would be by that day to do the install. I find it strange that they needed the $65 deposit to order the materials and now they have enough materials to do two houses. Yes people make mistakes, however; when the address, measurements, and photos did not match the house they worked on it brings into question their competence. If they had called in advance as requested we could have caught the problem before the wrong installation was done. His only response was, "I don't know what to tell you". They finally showed up around 5:30pm and by the time they had the old gutters down dusk had fallen. How good is the quality of work done in the dark? They left pieces of the gutter screen and gutter nails all over the yard. So the neighbors got free gutters done right early in the morning and we had to pay full price for shoddy work done in the dark. To add to the issue, when I went to pay the bill I realized that the $65 deposit was not included in the quoted $2035. Granted, we should have paid more attention to the contract, but generally deposits are included in the quoted price. The true total was $2100. We aren't asking for free gutters, but after the Inconvenience  of having to take two days off work and having to clean up after the workers we believe a company should make things right and compensate the customer for their mistakes.
Response from Nova Exteriors Inc
"Thank you for feedback. Our crew made the mistake of inversing the last digit of the home address from a "6" to a"9". Once we realized what had taken place we quickly sent the guttering crew to the right address. After completion I personally contacted the homeowner to follow up and said that they were fine but not so sure of the other party (spouse). We did not hear that there was debris left over. If the customer would have contacted us we would have had the crew out there the next day. We apologize for the inconvenience as it was an honest mistake. Fortunately, for the neighbor, they received a guttering system at no cost."

Our salesman Gustavo was very nice but it took him a little too long to follow up on emails.  We wanted a screen door for our front door but forgot to order one while he was here so we had to email back and forth until I found what I wanted.  We weren't in a rush so it wasn't too big a deal for us.  Gerald Egan was very prompt in responding to my emails.
Do schedule quotes from other companies first because Nova Exteriors usually offers you a discount if you order the day of the estimate (high pressure sales tactic).  If you like Provia doors and think you'll go with this company, get your other quotes first.
Installation when smoothly.  The guys were very nice, professional, and cleaned up after themselves.  They did an excellent job!

I have nothing but good things to say about Nova Exteriors as a company. Their quality and commitment to satisfying the customer is unmatched. From the beginning the sales representative Gustavo Placeres was extremely professional, honest, proactive and punctual. His knowledge of the industry really helped my family and I arrive at an appropriate decision/solution regarding adding a window in the basement.  There were some bumps in the road do to the culmination of unforeseeable weather conditions when the installation was scheduled to occur BUT through it all the owner Pete Vlantis, the sales rep. Gustavo Placeres and the entire Nova Exteriors team went above and beyond what was expected. They made sure the work was completed to their high standards and everything was resolved to my complete satisfaction. The true test of a company is how well they respond when faced with adversity and Nova Exteriors more than rose to the occasion with integrity and professionalism.
Over the last 4 years I have dealt with a number of contractors and companies as I gradually upgrade my house. I can honestly say that none of the companies I worked with prior to Nova Exteriors impressed me with either the work they performed, customer service or honoring of their warranties.  I currently am in the process of having Nova Exteriors do a second project in my home (replace the windows and sliding glass door). To date the same sales rep. Gustavo Placeres has been nothing but attentive and responsive to my families scheduling needs and price point. I am looking forward to Nova Exteriors completing the job with the same high level of commitment to quality, punctuality, professionalism and customer service.

We had a terrible experience with Nova Exteriors and wasted weeks of time trying to get their salesman Gustavo Placeres to respond to basic requests for a bid for a simple job. Our home in D.C. was burglarized and the front door was smashed in so we needed a new front door, door jamb, transom, etc. We wanted a new wood door to match our existing door in a 100-year-old rowhouse but Gustavo just wanted to push the metal and fiberglass doors from their regular supplier. I'm sure they must get a g profit kickback from them.
I told a company rep on the phone before Gustavo even came out that we wanted a wood door, and the rep said they could order a wood door and the salesman who came to our house would bring brochures showing different wood doors. Gustavo didn't bring the brochures and then it took weeks to just get a quote for a wood door after he finally provided a website for another company that made them.
I needed Gustavo to work with my insurance company to explain his inflated bid that had no details about the breakdown of the cost for the job. He failed to follow through with the insurance rep and I finally gave up and contacted another company after wasting a lot of time.

I ordered two door systems totaling over $9,000 from Nova Exteriors on August 21, 2012. These doors were received and installed September 19, 2012. However, the front door system was incomplete as additional door accompaniments were not installed as contracted. This exclusion was noted by me at the time of the installation, at which time the installer ordered the
additional materials contracted and informed me I would be contacted within a week after Nova Exteriors received the material.
After three weeks of being patient, I contacted the sales representative (Mr. McSherry) on October 15, who passed my concerns on to the scheduling office of Nova Exteriors. After more than a week of patience and having not heard back, I again contacted the sales representative on October 24 with my concerns of having not been contacted by the scheduling department. The next day I received an email from the scheduling department (Ms. Chapman) stating that the phone system at the Nova Exteriors office had been unreliable, and they scheduled to have the door installed the following week on October 30.
On the day of the installation, I received a call from the scheduler stating that the installation would not be able to take place because the office was closed as a result of Hurricane Sandy, that the scheduler was not in the office, and that I would receive a call the following day to reschedule when she was at her desk. Completely understandable. However, I did not receive a call the following day. After an additional week of patience, I contacted the Nova Exterior service office and waged a complaint for lack of service and follow through. I was assured by Mr. Egan that I would receive a call the following day. I have not received a call, there has been no phone log for missed calls, and no voice mail messages attempting to schedule the installation.
Completely unprofessional and a failure to fulfill the contract in full. Complaints filed with BBB.
Response from Nova Exteriors Inc
"We can understand the customer's frustration. The doors that we installed, much to the customer's satisfaction, were missing the door knocker and peepsite (accessories). The customer paid in full in good faith that we would come out in a reasonable time frame. It took longer than expected and we could have been more proactive. Our phone systems were changed from a phone to internet based program and it was not a seamless transition. I personally took the customers call last week and forwarded the request to our warranty department head. She sent a very wholehearted apology to the customer. We try our best to be perfect but we fell short. Apologies for not getting the door knocker and peepsite to you more quickly. Thank you for the opportunity, Gerald Egan NOVA Exteriors, Inc."

I'm really disappointed. They did a bait and switch w/ respect to convenience (which means they like to spend my time) and they sold me a poor quality product  For the price, I regret that I chose them.  I now wish I had gone w/ Thompson Creek.
My kitchen bay window was destroyed by a tree during the 6/29/12 Derecho storm. My insurance company was hassling me about the claim  and ants were invading my home  through the boarded window, so I decided to fix the window on my own. I searched Angie's List and began calling companies. Nova Exteriors was the 4th company to come to my house to provide an estimate for the window.
The sales person from Nova Exteriors met me after work and  was VERY nice.  Their claims about the quality of the windows and life time warrantees are very similar to another locally well known company. And though they weren't the cheapest vendor, I chose them largely b/c I believed the  sales person's assurances about quality and the great customer service (which is echoed in the Angies List comments).
A week or so after I signed the someone came to my home after work to measure the window.
About 4 -5 weeks later (as promised), they called to schedule the installation of the window. To install the window, they required I take the day off of work.  They don't work Saturdays. They could only do it middle of the day, middle of the work week. Which requires me to take the day off and incidentally also increases the cost of the window (if I'm not working, I'm not earning). I was disappointed because up until that point, they were so flexible..  I wish I'd known this when I bought the window. It would have made the difference for me.
I bit the bullet, took the day off. And they installed the window.
About a month later, I notice water stains in the window. THE EXPENSIVE  WINDOW IS LEAKING!!
I called them to have them come fix it. And again, they can only come during work hours. They can't come weekends. Which means it will cost me to have the window fixed.  I feel duped!!!  Where is all the convenience from the sales process? Where is the contrition a reputable company would have  for selling me a bad  product?
The woman on the phone insults me further by trying to "fix" the problem for me, so that the window can be fixed at Nova Exteriors convenience. "Can someone else stay at home to meet us?"  I'm single, live alone, and now furious!
And all I can know at this point is that:
1. I paid $2650. for a window that was installed less than 3 months ago
2. That window is leaking!
3. The Lifetime Warranty isn't really free for me b/c they don't work Saturdays
4. I have no idea when I can take time off from my job so the window can be fixed at their convenience
Normally, I don't mind  paying more for something if it's good quality or if there is a convenience associated with it. This company has my money and has given me neither.
Unless you've got lots of time and money, I'd leave this company alone.
-k

These hours generally have worked for us in the past, but maybe we need to make Saturday accommodations. Our products are top notch, we believe, and take pride in the quality of our work.
