The crew he used for my total bathroom renovation, lead by Eric Montufar, were very good. Eric was all about solving any problem, finding a way to make what I wanted work. The results are lovely, timing was quicker than he estimated. Costly, but exactly what he estimated and well worth it!

We recently completed a hall bathroom remodel and used Monova Homes. We 100% recommend this company and its team led by Jay Wee. Jay provided us with the most competitive bid for the work we needed done, and communicated clearly and often throughout the process. His team did excellent detailed work, solved a couple of problem issues for us and cleaned up beautifully every day. There were no unexpected surprises, and the work was completed in a very timely manner. Would not hesitate to use them again!!

The job was to move a non-load bearing wall from our home. I reached out for quotes and Jay responded quickly. He came to the house and gave a quote that was very reasonable. Due to it being a small job in-between larger jobs he was able to have his crew start the same week. He was done ahead of schedule and on budget. I will use them again in the future.

We were initially optimistic about working with Monova Homes, but unfortunately, our experience with Jay and his contractors was extremely disappointing to say the least. Throughout our primary bathroom remodel, we encountered numerous issues, and while I can't cover all the small problems, I will highlight the major ones. The first major issue was that the contractor failed to seal the new shower drain, resulting in a leak that damaged our kitchen ceiling. When Jay came to assess the damage, he initially denied that his team caused the leak, despite evidence suggesting otherwise. His exact words were "it doesn't look like we caused it but we'll take care of it anyways". Eventually, they did fix the issue and repair the damages. The second issue arose when a new pocket door was installed with a crack in the seam. The contractor claimed that the door arrived in the box with the crack, however, I suspect it occurred during installation. Although Jay never admitted fault, he did reimburse us for the replacement door. Minor inconvenience. The third issue is with work done to one of the exterior bathroom wall that created the siding of the house to bulge. Unfortunately, they could not fix the issue. The most troubling issue is in regards to the installation of cracked and chipped marble floor tiles. Without a final walkthrough or inspection of the completed work, Jay promptly requested for his payment. When I raised concerns about the damaged tiles and provided photographic evidence, Jay responded dismissively, stating they were not cracks. I was baffled by his response considering it does not take a professional to know the difference between a crack/chipped tile vs. the natural lines of marble stone, nor did he suggest coming to see it in person. Leading up to the last week and half of our project, he had not checked on the progress due to him being sick. When he did finally come, after seeing the tiles in person, he agreed to have them replaced. His tile installer showed up 2 days later and immediately was in a bad mood. He and I went over every damaged tile and he agreed all of them needed to be replaced. This included 2 additional tiles that were damaged by his foreman 2 days prior when he placed a ladder on my tiles to replace the rain shower extension. Once he was done, I was left to inspect the work and noticed that 2 tiles he had replaced were still damaged. When I asked for him to change those out, the installer became confrontational, muttering under his breath before storming off. The tile installer was instructed to come back to finish the job. He came speeding back into our driveway and confronted me. I felt very uncomfortable and felt unsafe with 2 young children with me in the house and immediately called Jay to voice my concern for the safety of my family and asked that he not return back to our house. Throughout this ordeal, Jay never offered an apology on behalf of his crew. My husband and I decided to no longer pursue Monova Homes to do right by us and what we paid for and will seek alternative solutions for the remaining issues. Our last email to Jay conveyed our disappointment, and evident in his response is a clear indication of his disregard for our concerns. Just look at his response to my Google review, no accountability and making up excuses. I provided an honest review and he lashes out. So to address his excuses in his response to my review- the redesign was due to discovering a pipe behind the wall. Once they discovered the pipe, we discussed our options and moved on. Only change I requested was to lower the height of the half wall. These small changes are pretty common during renovations when unexpected things are found. Anyone in the construction business would know that and be able to adapt easily. Changes in wall tile layout were brought to my attention by Jay and his contractors due to the size of the tiles. And as for the floor tiles, I did not point out additional damaged tiles. They were the ones we initially identified. Perhaps, had Jay been here to actually do his job and oversee and inspect the work of his crew, he would know what happened. It's disappointing and shameful to see him deflecting responsibility and trying to make it seem like my request for a change was unreasonable or caused unnecessary delays. When in fact, the damages his crew caused is what led to delays. Lastly, I did text Jay to communicate ALL the issues that would come up since he wasn't here but to say I messaged him 100 times is quite the exaggeration. But isn't that his job, to be available to communicate with his clients? The way he responds to customer reviews shows a lot about who he is. He seems to get easily bothered by interacting with customers. There is nothing "fake" about my review and I have plenty of pictures and logs of emails/texts to prove it. Overall, our experience with Monova Homes was far from satisfactory, marred by poor workmanship, a lack of accountability, and unprofessional conduct from both Jay and his contractors.

Jay and his team did a wonderful job on multiple projects around our home including replacing flooring, renovating a 1/2 bath, installing recessed lighting, and building out cabinets/shelving and a new mantle for our fireplace. They also did some interior painting. Couldn't be more pleased with the work. Monova's lead carpenter is quite skilled, and he and his assistance were on time, arriving each day exactly when they said they would. Same with the flooring team. It was winter so they used our garage as a workshop for cutting, etc. and they actually left the garage cleaner than they found it. Hard pressed to find even a spec of sawdust left behind. Overall very good work and good craftsmanship with attention to detail. No problem working through the inevitable surprises that come up, the sort of things other contractors would ignore or argue about they helped work out a sensible solution. We have full confidence they not only did good work, but they did it right. Great experience from planning to finish. Highly recommend Monova Homes.

Monova was able to move the start date at my request a couple times and maintain the price quoted. Once all the materials I was providing became available, Monova started work immediately. The team was professional and courteous and the quality of the workmanship excellent. There were no mysterious 'NO SHOW' days. The one day the team did not work, Jay had advised me in advance they would not be there. We had several contract changes that were requested by me and couple unforeseen differing site conditions. Monova Homes remodeled my unfinished townhouse basement in 5 weeks. The skilled contractors installed drywall, electrical, plumbing and venting for a/c and heating. Also, finished with flooring and painting. I purchased bathroom tile, fixtures and rec room flooring. Everything else was included in contract. The remodeled basement rec room, full bathroom, closet and utility room is very beautiful and professionally done. The crew was impeccable; no kidding, no flaws in workmanship. I especially love the tile work in my bathroom. I am very pleased with the remodel and looking forward to entertaining during the holiday’s this year 2021.

Working with Jay was great. We chose him for our master bedroom/bathroom remodel. He was on time, punctual, and always kept in contact with us to make sure we were up-to-date on how the project was going. He also went over any options and recommendations he thought of, informed of us any broken/missing materials (and he also took the initiative to get the replacements for these), and was very straightforward and easy to talk to. He would also check in on the project personally, every couple days -- which my wife and I greatly appreciate. We are VERY happy with our renovation! It still doesn't feel like it's our place.

The project went very well from start to finish. Received several bids and MONOVA was the best by far. Work started and ended exactly as stated by the project manager. Complete remodel of bathroom including a marble tile shower floor. Project completed in 11/23/2020 and all is working well 2 months later. Would hire again.

We had a wonderful experience with Monova Homes and the remodel of our small en-suite. Communication was outstanding. Jay the owner was always available to answer our questions by phone, text, or email. The entire process was fast and efficient. Within three days, he evaluated our requirements and provided a quote. Jay also quickly scheduled our bathroom remodel and even moved the planned work date forward to accommodate a travel commitment we had. Jay’s work crew was on time, polite, and professional. In addition, and this is important, the work crew was experienced, and knew what they were doing. Remodeling a 1950’s small bathroom can be a challenge but the work crew handled it with great skill and excellent craftsmanship. The remodel was completed on schedule and we now have a beautiful marble tile, European style en-suite.

MONOVA gave us a quote for our master bathroom remodel project. We agreed and then they sent us a material list. We used that to procure the material, hardware etc. that matched our taste. The work was performed in a very professional way. The tile installation is a true work of art and we could not be happier with the results. Every day the foreman came to check on progress. During the demo stage we were pleased on how clean and comprehensive the crew was.

It was a great experience. Our bathrooms were the original bathrooms from when our house was built. Our master bathroom required some significant plumbing work. If you're comfortable picking out your fixtures and tiles, Monova is a great value. We received quotes from 4 other contractors and Monova was the best mix of value, quality, and flexibility. They were great to work with. If we ever decide to do our kitchen, we would use Monova. Also, Javier tiled all three bathrooms and was amazing.

After signing a contract to have Monova remodel two small bathrooms starting in Feb 2020, they were able to actually start in November. Then Jay promised that the hall bath would be done by Thanksgiving and it was. Everything went smoothly, Jay is proactive with communication and the guys on-site were super nice. I recently remodeled my master bath after waiting a long time to do so. The delay in beginning my project was caused by the repiping of my condo building that was postponed several times. Finally, I was able to start. Jay Wee of Monova came by to look at the project, which going to be a total gut job: I was ripping out a decrepit “telephone booth” shower, removing the separate tub, and removing the double vanity. I planned to install a much larger shower enclosure and a new single vanity, as well as replace the tile floor. Jay immediately suggested a better location for the new shower and had several other ideas for my project. Following our consultation, he promptly provided what I found to be a very reasonable proposal for the labor. We soon completed negotiations and settled on a contract. Once work commenced, it went quickly. Demolition of the bathroom took only a few hours, thanks to Ade (who seems to be able to do ANYTHING well) and his young helper. Almost all the work for my job was handled by Ade, save the tile work, which was completed by the amazing Alfredo, whose work was impeccable. A snag at the end was caused by the vanity, which was back-ordered and then eventually arrived with manufacturing flaws. The supplier recommended another vanity be sent without doors and drawers and the doors and drawers from the damaged one be installed in the replacement. Ade and Jay took care of doing that and ensuring all was looking good. The final result was excellent, and everyone who sees the bathroom is absolutely wowed. The new shower is where the tub used to be, and the area where the shower was is now a storage area that I have yet to furnish, but which provides lots of additional storage space. Throughout the project, Jay stayed in constant touch via text. He and the team were always on time, and I was always kept aware of progress and schedule. Jay is always cheerful and responsive to questions and requests. Ade handled all work and any additional requests quickly and expertly. Jay took care of the City permits and inspection. I would definitely work with Jay and crew on any future project, based on my experience with my bathroom remodel. Thanks to Monova, I have a first-class master bath that is a pleasure to look at and use.

My experience with Monova Homes was fantastic. I had an ongoing full home renovation/remodel project, which consisted of work on basement, bathrooms, bedrooms, kitchen, dining+living rooms, and 2 master bedroom suites, all work done pretty much from the ground up (ie- electrical, plumbing, framing, drywall, paint, and finishing work all completed by Monova Homes). To put it into further context, I had decided to do an addition to my home as well as re-structure the existing interior layout and was left hanging out to dry by my previous contractor, whom had left my house in shambles (literally had to move out of my house because it was not in a livable condition). Now, most contractors wouldn’t even THINK about touching a project like this, much less come in at a reasonable price, but Monova Homes was ready and willing to work with me and I couldn’t have been happier with the outcome. I mainly had two individuals working on my project. Jay, whom was the estimator and project manager, and Ademar, whom was the project foreman. They were both absolutely great to work with. From day one, Jay took great care in being attentive to make sure that all the details of the project were taken care of and carried to a “T.” He was also in constant communication with me throughout the entirety of the project. I never felt like I was the one that had to reach out to him first about anything or get on his case about anything, nor did I ever feel that I had to sit and wait for him to respond to any questions I had. In fact, I would usually get an update every day or so from him to let me know where we were in the project, as well as to ask me any questions or let me know of any concerns. I couldn’t have asked for anything more in a project manager. Ademar was also outstanding. He had great workmanship and attention to detail. All his work was done diligently and with precision, from rough-in elements to perfectly seamless drywall, all the way through to the finishing touches and making sure that all doors/cabinets/hardware/etc. were installed properly, and perfectly level and aligned. He also had a very strong work ethic. Day in and day out, Ademar was there from morning to evening getting the work done on my project. He even came on the weekends a few times just to make sure that all the work was completed in a timely manner. Bottom line, Monova Homes kept me completely relieved, knowing that the horrible state that my house had been left in by the previous contractor would be 100% corrected, and that I would end up with a beautiful home. I have nothing but praise to give to Monova Homes, especially for having such diligent and attentive workers.
