Lyons Contracting stood out from the other companies from the very start--their original bid was higher than the others we received, but Mike Simpson, who came out to look at the roof and provide the estimate, was very knowledgeable, patient with all my questions, and clear in explaining why a replacement (rather than repair) was in order, and how Lyons proposed to do the job. They approached our roof as if it were a commercial job, thereby preserving manufacturer's warranty on all the roofing materials (they also provide a 5-year warranty on their work). We hestitated a bit, because the other bids were lower--but the amount of detail provided by Mike and later Tom Petrilli, convinced us to go ahead and "get it done right." Tom came to our house with a slide presentation of the process they would use to replace the roof, as well as samples of all of the roof materials, and a long list of precise references--similar jobs in similar homes, in our very neighborhood. We are thrilled with our decision to use Lyons Contracting--the team came out more quickly than we expected, completed the entire job in a day, cleaned up absolutely perfectly, and ended up charging less than we expected, because the job was easier than expected (there was less original roofing than expected; Lyons could not replace coping on one side without disturbing our neighbor's roof). Because Tom built a small access hatch, we were able to go up and inspect the job immediately--it's beautiful! The membrane is screwed down edge to edge and corner to corner (our previous membrane "hung" between the parapet walls, with squishy airspace at the corners), the welds are smooth, and in a light rain the entire roof drained quickly to the gutter. Tom and his crew were also willing to finagle the new gutters into our existing rain capture/rain barrel system, actually improving the set-up we'd developed. I would recommend Lyons without hesitation and with great enthusiasm.

Poorly- I will not use this company for any services.

We had several people come out who told us that we needed a new roof but Lyons Contracting came out and said that we didn?t need a new roof. They also told us that it wasn?t due for replacement. We liked their honesty and so we felt like we saved a lot of money. We didn?t have any problems because of the age of the roof.

The owner of Lyons Contracting has the highest standards for installing a roof. He uses copper flashing instead of aluminum. He uses good quality materials. His crew has been with him for a long time, which I think is a sign of quality. He is very responsive if there is any problems. I have recommended him to other people.

The project went beautifully. It took a little longer than expected because our roof had a great deal of bad plywood from two roofs ago which had not been properly removed before we bought the house. The crews showed up on time and were diligent and careful. The work is precise and beautiful. Mr. Petrilli answered any and all concerns. He was available whenever I needed him.
