Amanda was very pleasant to work with, knowledgeable about all of the existing plants (and weeds), and had good ideas for how to maximize the beauty of our yard.  She returned the work in a timely manner and has been very responsive.

I use this company for my weeding and shrub trimming. I'm on a yearly plan with them and they do an excellent job. Would highly recommend to anyone!

We knew in advance that we were going to be charged $50 for the consultation, and I do understand that there's a cost to sending an employee out.  But we were disappointed that the estimates for work we did receive were not very detailed.  If we would have decided to move forward, we would have required much more design work.  Probably just a mismatch of expectations.

We were away at the time. However, I recommend them to everyone! We've been using them for a number of years now. Their predecessor was terrible on every level, after two years we couldn't see a difference. Yet, we saw a difference after the first application from .Kingstowne. We have been very happy since we switched.

I have used Kingstowne Lawn and Landscape for almost 10 years.  They provide my annual mowing services and all the needed lawn treatments.  I have the greenest grass on my street!  They do a great job.

The designer, Allen McBeth, listened to my concerns and designed retaining walls that would clean up the appearance of my existing front  yard and move water away from the front of my house.  The crew worked quickly and diligently.  They removed debris, installed the retaining walls, leveled the topsoil and completed work within 4 days.
My neighborhood received 20 inches of snow in January 2016 and a very heavy rainstorm in February 2016.  Both times, I noticed that the snowmelt and rain water were diverted to a side yard away from the house.  My basement did not smell damp at all.

Done too fast, cost too high and uncertain how well it could work?

I have been using Kingstowne Lawn for years to have my small townhouse lawn mowed.  They are extremely reliable, always show up at their regular time.  They do an excellent job of mowing, edging and clean up.  It was hard to find a company to mow my small lawn for a reasonable price.  I am very glad I found them.

The landscaper, Amanda, was great.  She presented a number of options for the area (a small courtyard) we wanted landscaped.  We ended up finding an example online we liked, and she tailored the plan and estimate accordingly.  She met with the landscape crew the morning they started to ensure the crew clearly understood the job.  We were thrilled with the results when we returned home from work. We enjoyed the new space immensely during the warm fall nights and look forward to more wine and cheese nights out around the firepit (we got from a big box hardware store) this spring on our attractive and functional patio.

Alan MacBeth was who I worked with during the whole proposal process.  He was great, knew what he was talking about, and very professional.  Very confident in his performance.
Alan provided full professional PDF documents describing work with hand drawn design layouts of the changes being made. 
There were 3 guys on site for about 5-6 hours to accomplish this work.
My main complaints with the service were cost and timeline, but you get what you pay for.  In regards to timeline, they completed the work all in 1 day, which was great.  However, they are so busy during prime season, I had something around a month of waiting before they could come do the work. 
I think I probably could have had a smaller company achieve the same result for half the price, but I wanted it done right and quickly.  My next door neighbor was replacing sod at the same time and paid much less, but the quality he received was horrible compared to what Kingstowne Lawn and Landscape put in my yard.  The product quality was night and day.  He's already planning on redoing his yard again this spring.
My only quality concern is potentially with the quality of the Liriope used, which is the primary vegetation.  I took extremely good care of the landscaping after the work was completed, and I didn't see a single bloom on them and they didn't grow at all.  It could just be too late in the season, and they still seem healthy enough now, so I'm hoping they will look good in the spring.  I previously purchased Liriope about 2 weeks earlier in the season from my local nursery for my back yard, and it looks phenomenal in comparison.
Here was their description of the work:
1) Demo: -Remove and dispose of all plantings located within small bed between front stairs and driveway EXCEPT for ivy. Ivy to be left in place. Remove and dispose of red brick edging in this area. -Remove and dispose of all plantings along front yard side of entry steps EXCEPT for Japanese Maple tree which is to be left in place -Remove and dispose of all misc. stone that is currently in place as an edging -Remove and dispose of front lawn the extends from left side of driveway to left hand property line -Remove and dispose of arborvitae located immediately right of garage door
2) EDGING & STEPPER: -Installation of Techo-Bloc edging to serve as a division line between plant beds and lawn or driveway -Edging to be installed with an approx. 4" reveal above grade -Approx. 10 l/f in area between driveway and front steps, 12'-6" l/f at Japanese maple tree and 21 l/f to frame front yard bed. TOTAL: 43'-6" l/f (+/-) -All edging to be installed atop a dry mix of concrete -Cut to fit (1) piece of flagstone in area left of garage door for hose caddy to sit on -Addition of topsoil to newly edge beds to grade and as prep for planting
3) PLANTING & PRUNING -Installation of new plantings as per design -Prune ivy on front steps and shear as needed
4) MULCHING: -Installation of a 2" layer of dark brown double shred hardwood mulch to all (3) front yard plant beds PLUS up narrow strip of homeowner property along left side of entry steps (area facing neighboring home to the left)
5) SODDING: -Installation of sod to repair area where arborvitae was removed right of garage door -Installation of sod to a newly graded/prepped front (around Japanese Maple). Sod Watering Instructions: Customer agrees to water new sod for 1 hour, daily, for 3 weeks. Early morning watering is recommended. If daytime temperatures are less than 65 degrees Fahrenheit, you may decrease the duration of watering to 30 minutes. If daytime temperatures are more than 90 degrees Fahrenheit, morning and evening watering is HIGHLY recommended.. Limited Warranty: (90 Days) We guarantee that we will use accepted horticultural practices to install your lawn, and that we will perform the work in a professional and business-like manner. We also guarantee that the sod we provide will be of premium grade. Exact variety sod that you receive will depend on the availability from sod farm at time of order. Our policy is to purchase the best sod available. If we have reason to believe that the postsodding instructions were not carried out for whatever reason, this warranty is null and void.

The tree that they brought was not a good tree and it was misshaped. They planted the tree and I had no say about it. They did do a great job on the flagstone however.

We liked Amanda's plan for our yard, but we have not been completely happy with the results.  We had hoped to get rid of a lot of weeds as well as unwanted plants.  We replaced the plants, but we still have a lot of weeds.  It seemed like there were weeds in the mulch that was put around the new plants, and the weed killer on the lawn itself did not kill the weeds there (there was rain the next day, and perhaps that washed it off too soon?).  I would hired them again, but I would insist on better mulching and a more thorough job with the  weed killer in the grass.
I do not remember the cost, but it was reasonable.

That was fine. We told them what we would like and they sent us an e-mail plan. It was definitely not a realistic thing within our budget at the time so we didn't ask for any further services. The price that they were asking was pretty reasonable but it was definitely not something we were looking to do at the time. It was high quality.

The design was okay but the plants were rather dry when they showed up.  When I noted the dryness of several bushes to the
operations manager he offered to replace them.  Overall I am happy with the result.

The project went beautifully!  Kingstowne Lawn & Landscape worked with us until we had the job done perfectly.  Our landscape architect and crew come highly recommened!  All aspects of the job were coordinated and timed to get the job done quickly and efficiently.  Kingstowne works very hard with their suppliers and crew to keep their project on time and on budget.  You will not be disappointed with Kingstowne Lawn & Landscape.  We highly recommend them for your landscaping project!
