I had been waiting over a week and a half for my kitchen sink to be unclogged. I had two other plumbing companies cancel on me, in addition to being extremely rude and one even hanging up on me! Needless to say, I called a LOT of plumbers to replace them, and Kesterson was by far the best option. 1. I left a desperate voice mail over the weekend and they returned the call promptly at 8:00 a.m. on Monday morning. They were extremely friendly and accommodating. I called back twice to confirm certain details and never once did they act annoyed. I want their office manager, owner, whatever to know that their phone customer service is amazing and absolutely surpassing all of the competition in the NOVA area! Kudos! 2. They were able to switch my appointment from Tuesday to Monday *and* were able to provide a call-ahead an hour prior to their arrival. I was surprised that they were able to do so, and even more surprised that they actually did it! 3. The plumber (Ernest) showed up a half an hour early, completed the job in 10 minutes, and was professional and friendly. 4. Their price was a flat fee of $245 whether the job took 10 minutes or 10 hours. 5. Their set price INCLUDED the call trade fee and was $100 cheaper than any other plumber I spoke with. I was quoted at least $350 by all other plumbers, plus their $75-100 call fee. I love this company and will use them for all plumbing needs in the future. A huge thanks to everyone at Kesterson Plumbing for making this a non-stressful experience for an 8-month pregnant lady. =) I am so happy to have my kitchen back.

I rate them an A, too. I don't have any complaints at all when they come and do work for me. They're always on time.

While the plumber was late, he did call to let me know when he was on his way - which was before the scheduled appointment so at least I knew they'd be there soon. He moved quickly to remove the old tank and within an hour the job was done. While the plumber was there, he gave me a reasonable estimate on another job I need done at some point. He was fair and curteous on all accounts. I appreciated that Kesterson was able to provide an estimate for the water replacement over the phone rather than charge me for a service visit. The no-nonsense flat fee was refreshing! Another provider estimated about twice that price and insisted on a whole bunch of extras that I was not interested. That said, $1085 (which included the $1050 flat fee and a new ball valve and the) may sound high but it was the best I could find and was well worth it given their no hassle approach.

Kesterson provides all-around excellent plumbing services as we have come to expect. A qualified service technician replaced the toilet stopper and other internal parts, as well as the water filter running from the sink to the refrigerator. Labor runs at greater than $150/hr which in all likelihood will result in some comparison shopping in the future.

We were pleased with the company's professionalism, when we called to request a site visit and estimate for the renovation job we're doing on a condo. The 'estimator' who arrived was knowledgeable and courteous and we looked forward to working with the company -- until we received the full estimate. There were multiple additions to the job that we specifically said we didn't need. The estimate was for much more than the limited job we requested. We called back and asked for the job to be scaled down and to see a new estimate. When we didn't receive it for several days we called back. That's when we were told that "no adjustments were possible" and that we were "confused about what should be done." Hmm... Yes, we are not certified plumbers, but we think we know what faucet installation and setting the toilet mean (by the way dear contractor, we have done that ourselves several times). We asked incredulously if the company was refusing to reconsider the estimate and were told, yes. Why Kesterson was uninterested in this job is still unclear to us. What is clear is that we are uninterested in plumbers who pad their bills and take advantage of homeowners who don't know any better.

Let me start by saying, Kesterson is now my go to plumber. From start to finish my experience with them was top notch. My old faucet was leaking badly and rather than try to have it fixed I decided it was time to upgrade to one that had a pull out sprayer on it. I gave Kesterson a call after looking through Angies and am so glad I did. I called and was able to immediately schedule a same week appointment! I explained my situation and was given a quote of $200-$250 depending on the install. I had a few questions on making sure the new faucet would fit and they were answered perfectly. I requested a call to my cell when the plumber was on his way and when this didn't happen, I called them. No big deal, they told me they just talked to my plumber and he was wrapping up a job and would be calling me any minute. I left work and a few minutes later was talking to the plumber. He showed up about 45 minutes later. Scott introduced himself when he got to the house and immediately got to work. He could not have been a nicer guy. I'm one who likes to talk to people, so we engaged in conversation for most of the time he was working. He was very efficient and installed the new faucet perfectly - careful to share options that i had and explain what he was doing. Installation took half as long as expected and my bill was $180 less a $20 Angies coupon or $160. As he wrapped up I asked him a couple of other questions about a toilet and a shower and he took a quick look and made some recommendations. For the toilet a simple $3 part at Home Depot would save me a service call and the shower would probably be more involved. I really appreciated the honesty and if I can't do the shower myself I'll be giving Kesterson a call and requesting Scott

It went superbly. He suggested having the county look into the problem because it could possibly be an issue with them. I appreciated that he was looking out for the customer instead of the bottom line.

I am reviewing this job, but I am overdue for the many kudos I owe this company. I am a landlord living 1,000 miles away, which means any repair job is always a source of anxiety. Kesterson's customer service (in the office and in person) is more than friendly and professional. I have used many Alexandria/DC area plumbers over the last 8 years -- names that you know well and which I will not mention here -- and Kesterson is by far the best ever. I wish other contractors were as professional as Kesterson.

We were doing some remodeling and called Kesterson Plumbing to check and replace, if needed, all of the necessary pipes throughout the crawl space. After they inspected the pipes, they reported that no plumbing work was needed at this time. I really appreciated their honesty and would definitely call them again. They did send us an estimate if we wanted to have the work done anyway.

A bit pricey, but we always call Kesterson's because we know they are honest, do good work, and are prompt. They also guarantee their work and have come back to my house to fix some issues after a recent plumbing job. And, when I had a small leak that they fixed just by tightening a bolt on my water main, they did not charge me at all.

Kesterson was able to get someone out to repair a plumbing issue identified during the installation of my sump pump. With only a 24 hour window between when the issue was identified and when our final inspection was scheduled for I was incredibly worried about being able to schedule a quality crew. Without a doubt the team, from pricing to installation, understood what they were doing and was able to get in and out with a minimum of disruption, feedback, or challenges. During the repair of the drain pipe they identified and fixed things to ensure it was in line with our future renovation plans. Without their fast professional service we would have been forced to delay the final sump inspection and continue to suffer a torn up basement. These folks were lifesavers!

When I was trying to winterize my house, the hose bib dripped inside when the outside spigot was closed, and outside when the inside spigot was closed. I left a very detailed note for their visit. The plumber showed up on time, and they called to give us ETAs, etc. Very happy with that part. Did something to the outside spigot (replaced a gasket, I think) and said the work was guaranteed for a year. Gave us the Angie's List discount and I almost wrote a review right then. ($151 total.) But less than a week later, I saw that the outside spigot was leaking again. I called and they visited again--very promptly, on time, etc--but this time did work on the hose bib itself (inside). Since they hadn't done work on the *inside*, they charged us half price for that visit. ($86.) Needing two visits to solve a problem which was on one pipe, and then charging for the second visit is what leads me to give them a solid C. I might use them again in an emergency, because I know they'll show up when they say they will, but for something non-emergency, I'll try someone else.

The two men arrived at a later time than scheduled. However, I was notified in advance of the time change and the reason. They identified the problem and replaced a section of the pipe. They worked quickly and neatly. I was pleased with their work.

Repairman noted that the design of the toilet was "too fancy" and that I would be better served by buying a completely new toilet. When pressed for a comparison of costs between repair and outright replacement, the repairman left and said he would call me back. He ended up ordering new parts anyway which took 2 more days additional time before coming back and repairing the toilet, complaining the whole time that he hated working on designs like the toilet I had. While the repair was actually completed, I will probably not use these people again if their repairmen are too lazy to do the work properly the first time versus selling me something I didn't need at what would have been a much higher cost.

It went very well. No problems at all.

I called Kesterson on New Year's Eve to enquire about someone coming out to fix a leaking tubspout in my master bathroom. Although they did not have any same-day appointments available, I was able to schedule my choice of times for the next day off I had. Scott, the technician, called ahead and was very prompt for his time window. He very quickly assessed the problem, which was a clogged valve, and set about making the repair. He then checked all of other spouts and faucets in the entire house to make sure none of them were backed up and cleaned out those that were. He said that he just did this because I was paying for an hour so I should at least get more of the hour of work that I am paying for since his job was done! Scott was very professional at the house and the person who booked the appointment over the phone also was understanding of my time requirements and flexible with which days I could work with. Overall, it was a very positive experience and I would definitely use them again.

We called Kesterson, since they're just right up the street from our house and we like supporting local businesses. The knob on our 1940 rowhouse shower broke and we were unable to replace it successfully ourselves (couldn't get the knob to tighten enough to turn the water off fully). Called Kesterson at 10pm and they were able to send someone out the next morning. Our expected appointment window as 8-9am, but they didn't show until about 9:20am. Not a huge deal, would have liked them to be more punctual, but since they squeezed us in, I can't complain. Curtis was professional and super nice. He went right to work and quickly discovered what the problem was. He had to run back to their shop to get the parts (literally 2 blocks away), so we paid a mark up on their parts, but that's to be expected. He came back and finished the job. We mentioned that the drain was slow, so he snaked it for us and didn't charge extra for that. In addition, we mentioned that we were going to install a new shower head and he also did that for us free of charge. He was out within an hour and we have a working bathroom again. No complaints!

Everything went very very well. I called two days before to have the work done when I was going to be home, which worked out fine (they had to scramble to get the toilet I wanted). The office staff was very responsive and clear. I shopped around on prices for the water heater and toilet and they were competitive. Jotis and Jason arrived in the time frame I had been given. They got right to work and removed the water heater and the old toilet quickly and neatly and installed the new appliances. They discovered a crack in a handle for the shower (after restarting the water pressure) and replaced it quickly. They cleaned up well. I had asked about snaking some of my drains because it hadn't been done in years, and they discouraged me because they were running fine. They were professional and pleasant, and put up nicely with my questions. I would definitely use them again.

I am so pleasantly surprised -and thrilled -at the responsive friendly and quick service I received at 7:30am on New Years Day from this company! And they fixed the problem 100%. I called at 7:30am when our shower drain backed up and filled up with water and junk from the pipe. A live person answered the phone, told me they were definitely providing service on the holiday and gave me the name of the technician who would be contacting me, Jotis. Jotis called me within 10 minutes, quoted me a price of $285 and was here within 30 minutes. He was friendly and extremely professional. unclogged the drain (pulled a huge disgusting wad of hair out) and was finished in 10 minutes. Then he gave me a bill for the exact amount he quoted. Absolutely unbelievable service and I will call them again.

I called two days in advance, made an appointment for between 9 am and noon. The plumber arrived at 10 am and was done in 15 minutes. He snaked a big clog out of a bathtub drain. Very polite, and he cleaned up the tub after he was done. He honored the Angieslist $20 coupon too. Excellent service and we will definitely use Kesterson's again.

A while ago, one of the company's servicemen came to fix my LG All-in-One's air hammering. He did not know much about it and told lme it was not a problem. Months later, I called the company again and one of the servicemen, Shotsie, came too diagnose the problem on 12/14. He was on time and very professional. He left and ordered parts. On December 17, serviceman Scott Chris arrived for the service visit. He was on time, very professional and installed the hammering arresters which reduced the problem by 90% in my estimation. He took the time to explain a lot about the new, computerized washing machines. We discussed buying a new washer and he said that these new machines do this because they have a very quick, powerful water intake and to try calling the companies instead of dealers to find washers that do not cause hammering. He also gave me advise about running a short cycle with clorox to keep the inner plastic tube clean and mold-free. He also did me a huge favor by discussing the problem with my HOA management because they were upset about the pipes and possible damage. Finally, the company charged me only for the parts, or $48, after two appointments! This company is highly recommended.

The plumbers arrived when they said they would, did a terrific job sizing up the job and offered a reasonable estimate. They were much cheaper than other plumbing companies we've worked with in this area. The plumbers were friendly and they worked quickly. We will definitely use them again!

They stand behind their name and will go out of their way to make it right if you are not satisfied. Price is fair compared to the market and the technician who arrived was knowledgeable and friendly. Unfortunately the saw broke and we had to reschedule. The following day there was another conflict. I decided to use another company to finish the job. the next morning Earl from Kesterson contacted me and apologized for the inconvenience and offered to perform the work for free. I informed him we already had the worked completed by another plumber. They offered to pay the entire bill from the other plumber and I accepted. In all my years I have NEVER had a company contact me without me complaining and offer to do the job for free or pay for the services rendered by another company. I was happily shocked. This type of customer service is rare to find these days. Knowing the management stands behind their name the way they do I will use they again and recommend them as well. They would have been all A's if we didn't have the mix up at the beginning. The thing that continues to surprise me is that I didn't call and complain to anyone. I just cancelled with the technician. They followed up and were proactive and made sure I was satisfied even though I didn't use them. Amazing, there are people who care about their customers.
