Kesterson acted in very good faith when they fixed a water service problem due to three feet of old pipes connecting to the city water service. They had previously fixed the pipe closer to the house. Without any trouble at all they did the last three feet as a second job without charge. The quote had been almost $ 3 000

Things went well; I had no complaints.

There was a very loud high pitched noise in the walls of the house when a toilet was flushed. This had happened 2 years ago and they replaced the pressure valve at that time. The noise started happening again recently and they came out and adjusted it for free even though it had been two years. It worked for a few days but then the noise started up again and they came out and replaced the fill valve in a toilet. This last item was 183.50.

They ordered the correct heater. Opened the box at the house and the wrong one was inside. Not their fault. They got on the phone immediately and started reporting it and looking for the right heater. I was told we would have another day of cold showers (now up to 3). When they came back 2 days later they had the right heater and installed quickly. I had hot water within 1 hour of them arriving. I really like Kesterson's. Unfortunately it always costs us $$ when we see them here, but they do get the job done.

This was an emergency call because it happened at 6:30pm. Kesterson was the only company on angie's list that was A-rated and had emergency services where an actual person picked up when I called for help--the few other companies with ER services were automated voicemail systems. When I called, the receptionist radioed in the call to a plumber in the area who was supposed to come over ASAP--an HOUR later i called back and said he wasn't at the house yet--she transferred me to his cell, and he said he had called me and not gotten a response, so he wasn't coming over--that being said, I never got a call on my phone from him--it might have been bad reception? I'm not sure. So he came 45 minutes after I called him--and he stayed for about 30 minutes to fix our valve, stop the leak, and answer our questions. He told me over the phone it would be $250 an hour for him to come out, not including parts or labor--we didn't have any other choices because there were no other plumbers in the area with ER service...or that we knew would come out right away. The cost was absolutely ridiculous--and I understand it was an emergency, but it really was way too much. We will not be using them again because we had to wait almost 2 hours for them to get their communication right and come out--and it's just wayyyyyyy too much to spend on an ER visit. IF YOU HAVE OTHER OPTIONS, go with another company that is not this expensive--but if you don't--just make sure to be aware that their communication between receptionists and plumbers is not the best, and you need to call back and just fork up the money. That all being said--our plumber was an incredibly nice and knowledgable man--I would definitely use him again if I didn't have to go through his company to do so. He gave us great advice, and stayed with us to answer questions about plumbing in our entire house. And it was not his fault that he didn't come out first--it might have been that the receptionist gave him the wrong number to call, or it was bad reception because of a storm.

A pipe broke in our kitchen wall, with water turning drywall soggy and flooding a hardwood floor. I turned off the main valve but water continued to spray. I called Kesterson Plumbing, whom we've used before, and the live dispatcher had a plumber at my house within minutes. He quickly found and dug out the cutoff valve at the water meter next to the street. Inside, he opened faucets, and located and fixed the damaged pipe in the wall in just a few minutes. With a 60-year-old house, we've had a number of plumbing repairs and replacements over the years, and Kesterson has always provided excellent service. We were fortunate they happened to have someone in our area that day, and the alert dispatcher knew and acted on an emergency when she heard one. Hats off to Kesterson!

From the start, Kesterson was very responsive to our phone calls and needs. They returned phone calls, made the initial site visit, and provided an estimate in a timely fashion. Their estimate was just slightly above the lowest estimate we received (though well below the high-end estimates), but their willingness to provide prompt service and to work around our scheduling requirements (avoiding water cutoffs in the morning so we could keep our preschool operating) won them the job. In doing the job, their workers were prompt, polite, and professional, and they did a thorough job of minimizing mess and cleaning up after themselves. We were extremely happy with them.

Kesterson was very responsive. They got someone out to our house within a few hours and he diagnosed the problem immediately. Turned out to just be a leak around the faucet that was letting water drip down the wall. It was fixed within a few minutes and the repair man gave me the rest of the caulking so I could use it later.

They are very prompt and considerate. They do good work and are reliable.

Everything is working fine now, and I appreciate their fixing it for free.

They were very punctual and responsive. The first time they came, they replaced the "insides" of the toilet and charged me $190. The plumber flushed the toilet (with clean water in it) and it flushed properly and he left. The first time we used the toilet, it did not flush completely. I called back and someone came out the next day and adjusted something inside the back of the toilet. The first time we used the toilet, it did not flush completely. I called back and someone came out the next day and adjusted the water level and told me we had a "lazy flush" and they would have to replace the whole toilet and snake out the drain. The toilet still was not flushing completely and it would cost another $400+ the cost of replacing the toilet to get it fixed. I am out $220, 4 trips to my house, and my toilet is in the same condition it was on the first day I called them and now they want several hundred dollars more and no one could tell me why I wasn't told that on the first, second, or third visits to my house. At this point, I have no faith in any future repairs.

The quality of their work was good. Their price was reasonable.

I thought they were very good. They came out to fix a part a second time. They put a heavy-duty part in at no extra charge. They were also very responsive.

They have been great. There have been seven or eight people come out over the eight years we've lived in our house and they have all been great. They are on time and polite. Their dispatcher gets right back to you. They are professional. Plumbing is expensive.

I have used them before. They are very professional, kind and they clean up very well after themselves. They know what they are doing.

I have had a good experience with them. They know what they are doing, they are professional and their prices are average.

Everything was good with the exception of billing as they overcharged me. Another plumbing company charged me $140 for the same service and these people charged me $350.

They came when they said they would and finished the work within 30 minutes. Their prices were competitive compared to the others she got quotes from.

Two plumbers showed up at the time specified. The listened to my issues and I showed them the floor drain in question. The plumber ran the camera through the drain to the street (A total of apx. 40ft -50ft). Nothing was found to block the pipe and it was completely clear. The plumber suggested I jack up the basement floor and run a new section of pipe. He then handed me a "VCR TAPE" (Completely useless technology) and a bill for $475.00!! I originally thought it was an estimate to jack up my floor to put in a new drain that, by his admission was not needed. The $475.00 bill was to spend 45 minutes (and I'm being generous on the amount of time they actually worked on the problem) running a camera through my drain to tell me nothing was wrong with the floor drain and not offering any other solutions to my problem other than quote "Sorry we can't figure it out". The tape immediate went in the trash. I felt I was way over charged and shame on me for not asking for an estimate on the work prior to it being performed. I believe a fair company would have provided an estimate prior to the work. It should be noted that this work was done in early 2008 for me.

Our office needed a new hot water heater installed. We called 3 plumbing services before Kesterson and they all were charging about $1200 for labor and parts. They gave me an estimate over the phone and stuck to their word. They were fast arriving and wasted no time getting the job done. Everyone in our office is impressed and we will all keep them in mind for our own personal use.

Kesterson was responsive and was able to send over a plumber within a day. The plumber was courteous and professional. He noted that the pipe did not need repair and that substance on the pipes was not corrosion as an earlier inspector had believed. A negative was that their hourly rate quoted seemed quite high. A positive was that the plumber offered to wave the initial fee on the next visit if I chose to do the work, writing the ticket as a continuation.

They keep their word. They are prompt, reliable and efficient.

The pipe was accessible through the crawl space and the laundry room so it didn't involve tearing up the floor or the cabinets. The workmen came out and assessed the problem and came back the next day with the pipe and equipment. They came when they said and finished the job in a couple of hours. They took the old pipe away and cleaned up. They also fixed the dryer vent hose they had accidentally ripped in the process of installing the pipe. I appreciated them owning up to ripping the dryer vent hose. They could have just shoved it behind the dryer and I would have found out the hard way.

They did an excellent job. However, I felt that they were really pricey for the work they did. They cleaned up really well after themselves. They showed up on time.

We use Kesterson because they are in our neighborhood and because they do almost all the plumbing work in the Del Ray area of Alexandria. We've had mixed results with them, some of their workers are great and some not so great. When they fixed our tub stopper, they arrived on-time, did the work and it was generally satisfactory. The tub was working again when they left.
