Using your plumbers List, I called several plumbing companies to get an estimate of the cost of installing two bathroom faucets that I supplied. I got one estimate of a little over $500; two others charged a fee to come out to give an estimate that would be deductible if their price were accepted; others varied. The estimate of Hollin Hall was attractive mainly because of the clarity with which it was presented ($130 per hour, with subsequent time registered on a quarter hour basis). I also felt that the staff answering the phone was eager for my business. No one I called was discourteous but the HH staff seemed eager to please.

Our kitchen sink was clogged and despite our efforts to clear it with a gallon of Drano and a snake, the water wouldn't drain. We called 5 plumbers who couldn't schedule us for 2-3 days; Bruce was at our door within 2 hours. He snaked down 30', "removed seeds, leafy matter, and an abundance of grease." On top of that, Bruce left my sink and the surrounding area absolutely spotless.

Response time was terrific - in less than 30 minutes! Very friendly and cordial service. Knew exactly what the problem was instantly and corrected it swiftly. I couldn't be more pleased. I'll use this company again, for certain.

Hollin Hills Plumbing provided a window of 12:00-2:00pm. Although, they were willing to call ahead. I was already at home on the day the work was done. Bruce showed up at 12:45pm in a pouring rain. He immediately removed his shoes as to not track mud and rain into the house. I explained the problem and of course, I could not replicate the squeal. After several tries, Bruce was able to replicate. The converter needed replaced. The work was quickly completed and tested several times. I'm happy to say my guests over Thanksgiving were able to shower in peace.

The dispatcher was very understanding and helpful. When I explained that the ceiling was getting wetter constantly, she said she would send the plumber that same afternoon. Two plumbers came to do this job because of its difficulty: the pipe is located in a high ceiling and is difficult to access for several reasons. The team proceeded to efficiently cut away drywall to gain access to the pipe, cutting out only areas that gave them access. They were careful, deliberate, efficient. Despite the difficulty of the work space, they made no complaints. They made sure that they got all the pipe that had possible future pinholes. The job had been estimated for 2 hours; they were finished in just under one hour. Everyone I dealt with in this company was helpful. I will absolutely use them again.

I had a frustrating experience with my A/C contractor - they installed a new A/C unit but did not blow out the existing condensation line. The company's serviceman stated that they did not blow out condensation lines for units in apartment buildings. (I live in a 3 story garden apartment.) I was referred to Bruce at Hollin Hall Plumbing and called him on the Saturday before Labor Day. The company states on their answering machine that they check messages every hour. Sure enough, I received a call from Bruce within the hour. He came an hour later. He was professional, courteous and efficient. He blew out the condensation line. He explained to me and showed me what he did. He also showed me how I could use my wetvac to blow out the line myself. He stayed and made sure that my A/C unit was turned on and was functioning. I will call them again when the need arises.
