I've used them for probably 20 years. They do a check up for air conditioning in the spring and then heating in the fall. The service was free. I have a contract with them on an annual basis.

Paul called to say that the prior calls had run over, and he would be late. Told me when he thought he would be here and asked if that was ok, or did I want to reschedule. I like that he let me know and I had options, and a ballpark idea of timing. I had used this company in the past at our old house, and have always been pleased. THis time he checked both units and signed us up on an annual service plan. I like that they had two options of service plans. Even the office staff was helpful and nice!

I made an appointment with this company to come check out our furnace and radiators, which have not been serviced in quite some time. They were supposed to arrive sometime between 12:00 and 3:00 this afternoon. About 12:45 I called the company to see if they could give me any indication of when the serviceman would arrive. the receptionist said she would check with the technician and get back to me right away. I did not receive any call. Finally, at about 2:45 I called again. I got only an answering machine message. I left a message that if the company wanted to retain my business, they needed to call me within 5 minutes. No call. Had the receptionist said and quot; I am sorry, the previous appointment turned out to be more serious and we won't be able to make the appointment. Could we reschedule?and quot; I would have said sure, not problem. But to never call back with any explanation or update is absolutely not acceptable in my book.. I would not do business with these people under any circumstances now.

Paul came on time and performed the tasks quickly and efficiently. He located the sound in the furnace and gave me the options available - replacing the part or purchasing a new furnace. He did not pressure me into a decision on the spot and I appreciated that.

Our upstairs AC wasn't working and Mr. Dillingham came out the next day after I called. He repaired our unit (needed new capacitor and more freon) and also had suggestions on an issue he suggested we watch out for (leaking freon). He was quick in completing the job and was pleasant to deal with.

I had my air conditioner moved to the other side of the house - approximately 20 feet away. This required preparing the new location (
they nicely built it up and leveled it out), physically moving a heavy AC, making a new hole in the wall, filling in the old hole, removing and adding all new lines (electrical and ac fluid), etc. I had asked for an estimate several months ago from several companies. Theirs was one of the lower prices and they had excellent ratings in Checkbook and on Angie's List. I then decided to hold off on doing the work until now. They still honored the estimate and scheduled the work right away. They were on time and did a really great job (and I'm very picky). They made the hole in the wall very high so that it's out of sight and also so that the outside copper line did not have to be bent. They lined up the lines out side perfectly and placed them in a great location. The work took 3 hours to complete and they did an excellent job all around.

As stated, have the work performed in off season if possible. Do get at least three bids and don't be afraid to ask for a better deal from each bider. I found that the price difference can be hundreds of dollars between bidders. Of course the equipment has to be the same from each bidder. Do check with both small and large companies. We selected a local small company which did give us the better price and the service was outstanding. As for researching the type of equipment It became very confusing. Checking the internet had very mixed reviews. Some liked the Trane units and others were completely against them. I am still not sure if we made the right decision, time will tell and most of the units carry a ten year warranty, so thinks should be pretty safe.
Researching different types of units I found that Japan and Europe have been using natural gas powered AC units for twenty years. These units are less polluting and cheaper to run. When I asked the bidders about them they had not heard of them. The US is really behind the curve but it sounds as if they maybe coming to the US market next year. If your interested google natural gas air conditioning. This site explains how they work; http://www.gasairconditioning.org/robur_how_it_works.htm

I had requested quotes from 3 companies to replace my outside AC unit after a storm damaged mine. The technician from Dillingham spent a lot of time with me discussing different pricing options and the differences between the various systems. They also had the lowest quote for comparable models. The representatives from the other companies talked like used car salesmen and would not even discuss using an older model to replace mine. Dillingham also came highly recommended from others in my neighborhood. Dillingham had installed my system before the other companies had even gotten their written quotes to me. I would highly recommend this company for any work you need done...they are friendly, knowledgable, quick and competitively priced!

They are very good. I used them a couple of years ago for a major project which was for a couple of thousand of dollars. They were very fair priced. Everybody else came out and tried to sell me stuff and quoted me double the price. They came out and quoted me half the price. They removed the part. At that time, they said they would be there within an half an hour window. They were 3 to 4 guys, very courteous, did the job exactly as I wanted and fixed everything. They were very reasonable. They guy did a lot of work for that money. In fact, the guy who came out the last time was very nice. The first time they did all the work outside, but the second time they worked inside. He was very careful. I have a 90-year-old house that I totally renovated a few years ago. He is very careful not to damage my floors with the ladder. He had to replace furnace and he had to climb up to work in the attic to a small area. He was obviously a big guy and he was very careful not to damage anything. He put everything back in its place. He was very nice and very respectful in my home. I had called them another time for something and they were perfect. These people are really good. I had a furnace that was under warranty. It was 2 years old. It went bad. Everybody else was just trying to turn their back on and this guy gave me a quote right over the phone, nobody else did. Then he said he would to make sure he will come out and take a look at it. He did, he came out and took a a look and called me back. I was right that was exactly what was warranted. They set everything up. I didn't have to do anything else. I will use them in the future.

Bruce Dillingham and his team installed a new 2.5 ton high efficiency, 15 seer air conditioner, (about 16% more efficient over a 13 seer system). Bruce sold and installed this after my regular AC and furnace guy tried to sell me a similar AC for $1,300 more. This has been a very hot month, and Bruce could have taken advantage of us, but he didn't. He was fair, and worked with us to get us up and 'cool' again real fast. I've used Bruce before, and will again.

Dillingham was very cooperative in getting a service agent to our home ASAP at a time when they were very busy. While it would have been more convenient and saved one service call fee [$100] if the defective motor was discovered initially, it seemed reasonable to try less costly repairs first. Paul was very professional and knowledgeable, and we anticipate using this company in the future.
