I've used them for probably 20 years. They do a check up for air conditioning in the spring and then heating in the fall. The service was free. I have a contract with them on an annual basis.

Paul called to say that the prior calls had run over, and he would be late. Told me when he thought he would be here and asked if that was ok, or did I want to reschedule. I like that he let me know and I had options, and a ballpark idea of timing. I had used this company in the past at our old house, and have always been pleased. THis time he checked both units and signed us up on an annual service plan. I like that they had two options of service plans. Even the office staff was helpful and nice!

I made an appointment with this company to come check out our furnace and radiators, which have not been serviced in quite some time. They were supposed to arrive sometime between 12:00 and 3:00 this afternoon. About 12:45 I called the company to see if they could give me any indication of when the serviceman would arrive. the receptionist said she would check with the technician and get back to me right away. I did not receive any call. Finally, at about 2:45 I called again. I got only an answering machine message. I left a message that if the company wanted to retain my business, they needed to call me within 5 minutes. No call. Had the receptionist said and quot; I am sorry, the previous appointment turned out to be more serious and we won't be able to make the appointment. Could we reschedule?and quot; I would have said sure, not problem. But to never call back with any explanation or update is absolutely not acceptable in my book.. I would not do business with these people under any circumstances now.

Paul came on time and performed the tasks quickly and efficiently. He located the sound in the furnace and gave me the options available - replacing the part or purchasing a new furnace. He did not pressure me into a decision on the spot and I appreciated that.

Our upstairs AC wasn't working and Mr. Dillingham came out the next day after I called. He repaired our unit (needed new capacitor and more freon) and also had suggestions on an issue he suggested we watch out for (leaking freon). He was quick in completing the job and was pleasant to deal with.

I had my air conditioner moved to the other side of the house - approximately 20 feet away. This required preparing the new location ( they nicely built it up and leveled it out), physically moving a heavy AC, making a new hole in the wall, filling in the old hole, removing and adding all new lines (electrical and ac fluid), etc. I had asked for an estimate several months ago from several companies. Theirs was one of the lower prices and they had excellent ratings in Checkbook and on Angie's List. I then decided to hold off on doing the work until now. They still honored the estimate and scheduled the work right away. They were on time and did a really great job (and I'm very picky). They made the hole in the wall very high so that it's out of sight and also so that the outside copper line did not have to be bent. They lined up the lines out side perfectly and placed them in a great location. The work took 3 hours to complete and they did an excellent job all around.

As stated, have the work performed in off season if possible. Do get at least three bids and don't be afraid to ask for a better deal from each bider. I found that the price difference can be hundreds of dollars between bidders. Of course the equipment has to be the same from each bidder. Do check with both small and large companies. We selected a local small company which did give us the better price and the service was outstanding. As for researching the type of equipment It became very confusing. Checking the internet had very mixed reviews. Some liked the Trane units and others were completely against them. I am still not sure if we made the right decision, time will tell and most of the units carry a ten year warranty, so thinks should be pretty safe. Researching different types of units I found that Japan and Europe have been using natural gas powered AC units for twenty years. These units are less polluting and cheaper to run. When I asked the bidders about them they had not heard of them. The US is really behind the curve but it sounds as if they maybe coming to the US market next year. If your interested google natural gas air conditioning. This site explains how they work; http://www.gasairconditioning.org/robur_how_it_works.htm
Description of Work: We had our 20 year HVAC 3 1/2 ton AC and gas heating system replaced with new Trane units. Dillingham Heating/ AC Company performed the work. The work was very straight forward, remove the old units both inside and outside units and install new units. The work went very smooth and on time as scheduled by the company. I would say if at all possible have the work done in off season, the waiting time during peak cooling season can run a week. Dillingham overall was an excellent choice, good price, timely and the crew knew what they were doing. I give them two thumbs up.

I had requested quotes from 3 companies to replace my outside AC unit after a storm damaged mine. The technician from Dillingham spent a lot of time with me discussing different pricing options and the differences between the various systems. They also had the lowest quote for comparable models. The representatives from the other companies talked like used car salesmen and would not even discuss using an older model to replace mine. Dillingham also came highly recommended from others in my neighborhood. Dillingham had installed my system before the other companies had even gotten their written quotes to me. I would highly recommend this company for any work you need done...they are friendly, knowledgable, quick and competitively priced!

They are very good. I used them a couple of years ago for a major project which was for a couple of thousand of dollars. They were very fair priced. Everybody else came out and tried to sell me stuff and quoted me double the price. They came out and quoted me half the price. They removed the part. At that time, they said they would be there within an half an hour window. They were 3 to 4 guys, very courteous, did the job exactly as I wanted and fixed everything. They were very reasonable. They guy did a lot of work for that money. In fact, the guy who came out the last time was very nice. The first time they did all the work outside, but the second time they worked inside. He was very careful. I have a 90-year-old house that I totally renovated a few years ago. He is very careful not to damage my floors with the ladder. He had to replace furnace and he had to climb up to work in the attic to a small area. He was obviously a big guy and he was very careful not to damage anything. He put everything back in its place. He was very nice and very respectful in my home. I had called them another time for something and they were perfect. These people are really good. I had a furnace that was under warranty. It was 2 years old. It went bad. Everybody else was just trying to turn their back on and this guy gave me a quote right over the phone, nobody else did. Then he said he would to make sure he will come out and take a look at it. He did, he came out and took a a look and called me back. I was right that was exactly what was warranted. They set everything up. I didn't have to do anything else. I will use them in the future.

Bruce Dillingham and his team installed a new 2.5 ton high efficiency, 15 seer air conditioner, (about 16% more efficient over a 13 seer system). Bruce sold and installed this after my regular AC and furnace guy tried to sell me a similar AC for $1,300 more. This has been a very hot month, and Bruce could have taken advantage of us, but he didn't. He was fair, and worked with us to get us up and 'cool' again real fast. I've used Bruce before, and will again.

Dillingham was very cooperative in getting a service agent to our home ASAP at a time when they were very busy. While it would have been more convenient and saved one service call fee [$100] if the defective motor was discovered initially, it seemed reasonable to try less costly repairs first. Paul was very professional and knowledgeable, and we anticipate using this company in the future.
Description of Work: Dillingham's agent, Paul, initially responsed to our service call about a clanking sound in the heat pump. He went out of his way in a busy time [heat wave] to check out the heat pump the next day. When Paul turned the heat pump back on, the noise had abated and it returned to normal service. Several hours later it failed to generate cool air and Paul returned. He changed out a section of the motor that looked worn, and again the AC worked but again failed after several hours. Paul did additional adiagnostics and concluded that the motor was defective, and replaced it the following day, all parts under warranty. The AC is doing great.

Ed Flow merged with Dillingham about 5 years ago. I have had the same technician service both heating and AC units for at least 10 years. He is very professional, punctual and informative. I enjoy talking to him as I feel I get good info on how the system is doing and he answers any questions I have. Ed Flow installed a new humidifier, and complete new HVAC system (about 15 years ago), I have not had any problems with either system. Never had a problem with the company. I highly recommend them.

We didn’t have them do any work. They quoted us about $7800. We went with another company that offered us a little more for about the same price. We had about four outfits come out and give us estimates. So Dillingham Heating and Air Conditioning and the company we went with were really close. I wouldn’t be able to comment on their quality. They were excellent based on their apparent expertise, estimation process and their followup. They were a little slow in responding than I had anticipated, but the person involved was sick. So that wasn’t their fault. They were right on the mark in terms of their punctuality. The person involved came when he said he would come out. His professionalism was good. They were one of the finalists and we would give them another chance even if we didn’t hire them this time. So I would definitely consider them in the future.

From start to finish Dillingham did an excellent job. They removed my old furnace and A/C and installed my new equipment. The whole process took about 5 hours. I live in a townhouse, so the area they had to work in was small and hot, but they managed very well. There was a very old, inoperperable, humidifier that they removed and sealed the opening (I did not buy a new humidifier). They had to move some furniture to get the furnace in the house, and in doing so, they found a cricket's nest in the basement. They helped me spray and get rid of the little creatures, which I greatly appreciated. When my furnace and A/C had been installed, they walked me through operation of everything, answerered all my questions and showed me how to program my new thermostat. They were very thorough and encouraged me to call them if I had further questions after they left. They gave me all the information I need to file for appropriate tax credits, etc. They cleaned up everything and hauled away all my old equipment. The only thing they wouldn't take away was my broken pieces of cement that my old A/C unit had been sitting on. Overall, I would say they did an excellent job and I am very pleased with my new equipment. When everything had been installed they showed me
Description of Work: My 29 year old furnance and A/C "died" during our recent heat wave. I called three companies for estimates and Dillingham offered the best equipment for the best price. They were recommended to me by friends and I was not dissappointed. Within 2 days of my accepting their proposal I had a new air conditioner and a very cool house! It is a family business and everyone I spoke with was very friendly and knowledgeable.
