Deska Foundation Repair and Basement Waterproofing

The process was surprisingly smooth. We first had to have one of their engineers come out and see the problems. After that they gave us an estimate to install a drain system with a sump pump along with anchors on the leaning walls. Just to cover our bases we did get other estimates from two other companies which were pretty close but the other two companies didn't have engineers reviewing the work. We used Deska for all of the work and I was very happy how respectful and responsive they were throughout the process. I had a few follow up questions after the work was done and they never missed a beat!

The engineer tested the walls and showed me that there was actually water coming through the walls at some areas. He said this was part of the problem and we needed to have the wall cracks epoxy injected and a drainage system installed with a sump pump. We were lucky that we were able to be proactive to address the problem as he mentioned that if we left the issue untreated it would have likely caused severe damage in the future. All in all, they did an excellent job and cost less than my other estimate!

I was very hesitant to have this work done and they were actually my 5th estimate! They were on the lower end of cost but what really made the difference was the project consultant - Jim very clearly explained how the system worked and why we needed the particular type of system. He was very honest and educational about what we needed to have done. They ended up installing a perimeter drain system and a sump pump with a battery back-up just in case the power goes out during a storm. I was really impressed at how smooth and well coordinated the work was performed and I'm absolutely thrilled that I don't lose sleep over my basement flooding anymore!

I was very happy with the experience. They installed a drain system around my basement with a sump pump and installed a waterproof barrier on the walls. They also sealed a crack with epoxy as well. I am so happy not to have to worry about this problem anymore! All in all it was an easy going and convenient experience.

Deska's crew built temporary supports, stabilized the footers and wall, removed the dirt under the footers, and extended the footers with concrete, down about 12" into the ground under the wall. They also patched/parged several dozen spots on the interior foundation walls in the crawlspace where the mortar had deteriorated. Finally, they sanded and painted two doorway lintels in the cellar. This was a big job - took 3 guys nearly 4 days. They were very professional, punctual and did great work. They left everything neat and clean, and I liked how they smoothed the footers so I don't catch things on the corners when I store things down there. I tend to ask a lot of questions; they were courteous and patiently answered all. I had been dreading this job, fearing it would shake my house to bits, be a mess and not get done properly, but I couldn't be more pleased. The noise wasn't even that bad. I think they're a very good company and would hire again. Gave me great peace of mind!

The Deska Services team was friendly and professional. They were punctual on the first day and clearly explained what the work involved. The work required breaking up concrete. They took care to protect our upstairs from dust and they left the work area clean when they were finished. I felt very comfortable leaving a key with them so they could come in on subsequent mornings when I couldn't be there. The finished work looks great. We just had very heavy rain over two days and our formerly leaky basement stayed dry. I highly recommend Deska Services for waterproofing, foundation and structural work.

The assessment went great! The engineer was very professional and inspected my home and designed drawings for permitting. They then cut open my foundation wall and installed a large staircase and french doors at the bottom. All the work was exceptional quality and they even put grass seed down on the disturbed areas of my lawn. I show everyone that comes over our house! A++!!!

The project went very well. First, one of Deska's engineers came out to perform a structural evaluation on my foundation. He clearly communicated to me and provided a very detailed report that explained what the problems were regarding my settling foundation. The report specified some recommendations for repair and we proceeded to have the work done with Deska. They installed 14 helical piers and "underpinned" my foundation. The project was on time and on budget and all of the workers were very respectful and cleaned up after themselves. While they were there I inquired about adding an egress window to add an extra bedroom to my home. They were able to do this at a discounted rate since apparently they already had most of the needed resources on the job. I was thrilled to have the job done, an extra bedroom, and I no longer have to worry about the issue.

John the engineer was very professional and knowledgeable. He performed some tests for moisture and settlement and found that my foundation was settling at one corner and there was also a water issue through a crack. He provided a detailed engineering report along with a proposal for repairing the crack and the settlement issue. We ended up using them to epoxy inject the crack and underpin the corner of the foundation. This was back in March and we haven't had any problems since. They always kept me in the loop and their price was almost half of what I had another contractor offer to do the job for. I am so glad I reached out to Deska!

The structural evaluation went really well. The engineer performed a very thorough structural inspection of my home (I followed him) and he very clearly explained to me how the home was constructed and supported. Upon inspecting the cracks, he diagnosed them as purely aesthetic cracks that are of little concern. I was so relieved and I'm so glad that I called in a professional engineer as opposed to accepting one of the prior contractors' quotes. They saved me almost $1,800!

One of their engineers came out to assess the issue and explained all about what the issue was related to and what needed to be done to repair the crack. He was able to explain in very easily to me. It turned out not to be a big deal and they epoxy injected the crack in one day. Their crew was very polite and clean. Based on my experience, I would definitely recommend Deska Services if you have foundation or structural concerns.

I am a landlord who relies on home contractors for service and repairs. I have used a number of repair service companies. While the experiences have not been negative, working with Brian is a pleasure. I have found him to be responsive, reasonably priced and dependable. His staff is on time and professional. He takes time to explain to me the problem finding/s and how it was resolved. While most busy landlords are just satisfied that the problem is fixed, tenant happy, and moves on without knowing specifics of the work done, Deska Services captures before and after pictures when they invoice. This is extremely helpful to busy Landlords that desire knowing or ease of mind that they received service and can see the before and after.
It is a plus to have a service contractor handle a multitude of repairs and beyond. It is uncommon to find a company that continually delivers great work and service. I’m pleased with my luck.
