My first experience was good, so I was looking forward to using him again (and it's just a guy, working out of his garage - the correct address is 5087 Queens Wood Dr., Burke, VA). I called and spoke to his wife; they are Korean, and her command of English is somewhat worse than his. She informed me that an estimate was free if I brought the set to them, and $50 if he came to my house. I took the set out there; he was not home when I arrived, so she wrote a receipt and told me I would hear from her husband. He called later that evening, and left a voice-mail for me. I tried several times for the next day or so to get in touch with him, and finally got in touch the evening after I dropped off the set. He informed me the set was too expensive to repair; he quoted me $230 for the parts, and about that much for labor. He told me I was better off buying a new set. I agreed to come pick up the set the following day. When I arrived again, he was not there; his wife opened the garage for me to load my set. That afternoon, I looked online and found refurbished parts for about $40; I tried several times to call him and ask if he could use refurbished parts, and thus repair my set for cheaper than replacement would cost. He still has not returned my phone calls, and I finally gave up and bought a new set. I may yet take the broken set to another repair shop, in hopes they can repair it more cheaply. My sense is that the proprietor is generally a good guy, and knows a lot about fixing TVs - especially older models -but he is no longer able to support himself as a TV repairman. He seems to have another job, and does TVs only in his spare time - which is not much, as near as I can tell. If you live close to him, it might work out; for me, it was an hour drive round trip every time I had to go out there. While I did have a good experience with him previously, his lack of responsiveness to my inquiries - plus dealing with his wife - were exceptionally frustrating this time around, and will keep me from using him again.
Description of Work: In 2006, I took a broken CRT set to him to get a plug replaced; he did the work for $50, and we used the TV satisfactorily for several years. More recently, I took an LCD TV to him for an estimate and possible repair. He informed me that it would be cheaper to replace the set rather than repair it.

They were professional. They were on time and on budget. Their prices were in the lower third of the estimates that I got. I would recommend them to others.
Description of Work: He fixed my HD 60' wide TV screen in our front room.
