I called Appliance Repair Leaders and was able to receive an appointment for the next day. Sammy arrived within the designated window, calling 15 minutes in advance of his arrival. He quickly identified the issue with my refrigerator, found the needed part on his vehicle, replaced the worn out part and confirmed there were no leaks and ensured the water dispenser for the refrigerator was working properly before leaving. He was friendly, personable, explained what the problem was and cleaned up the area before leaving. His entire time for visit was approximately 30 minutes - outstanding service provided.
Description of Work: My refrigerator in door water dispenser had a very slow flow of water. The filter had been replaced and water volume into the refrigerator was adequate and yet problem persisted.

Sammy was our technician and he did an excellent job for us. We received a same day service call on a Saturday -- unheard of! He showed up within the window timeframe allotted, immediately diagnosed the problem and repaired the cooktop within a short period of time. I then mentioned the drips within the wall oven glass and he stayed to disassemble the door for cleaning -- at no charge! Would definitely use Appliance Repair Leaders in the future. Thanks Sammy!
Description of Work: Replaced the spark switch harness and spark module for the gas cooktop. Also disassembled the oven door for cleaning (which was not requested when we called in the service).

On Friday evening (Apr 12), we discovered that, although the dryer drum was turning, there was no heat for drying clothers in our electric clothes dryer. I called Appliance Repair Leaders on Saturday morning and set up a service call for Monday (Apr 15th) between 10am and 1pm. Prior to arriving at the house, the technican called to let me know he was on the way. Two technicans arrived at approx 11:40.am. The checked the dryer and found the heating element to be faulty. They replaced the element and cleaned the dryer. It only took them about 35 to 40 minutes to complete the repairs. They were courteous, professional, and technically proficient. The cost was $248. They waived the service call fee of $59.95. If I have a problem with an appliance in the future, I would use them again.
Description of Work: Replaced the heating element of the clothes dryer and cleaned the excess lint, etc.

Went very well. Appreciated the attempt to save us the cost of a new pump. Also, showed me how to clean the pump filter for the future reference.
Description of Work: Cleaned filter in washing machine pump in hopes that it did not need replacement...and charged for only a service call. Subsequently, pump needed replacement (within next two days), and re-visited to replace pump. Combined all charges as if one call.

My experience was very good. Sam, the repairman was helpful in explaining what he was doing and the potential causes of the main board's failure. Time (5 years) was one suggestion. However, since a mouse had electrocuted itself upon biting through the power cord, we agreed that that probably created an electrical surge "blowing" the main board. The price is probably fair, though steep for 30 mins of work. Main boards for this refrigerator can be bought on line for ~$100, however one must wait for delivery, while your refrigerator is not working correctly. Sam was helpful in patching my damaged power cord and showing me exactly how to install the new one I had ordered prior to calling Appliance Repair Leaders.
Description of Work: The main board (brain), which controls temperature and all things electrical (except the lights) of my GE Profile refrigerator/freezer was removed and replaced.

Out of the blue our dishwasher stopped working mid-cycle. All the lights were out, it was unresponsive and the water wasn't draining. We called a few companies with good ratings on Angie's list and Appliance Repair Leaders (Sammy) responded the fastest. We called Thursday morning around 10 AM and Sammy arrived the next morning around 10:15. He was nice enough to call ahead of time to let us know he was on his way, which is great since I'm often out running small errands (walking dog, etc). Once he arrived he quickly diagnosed the problem (bad insulator caps on the wiring that caused a small electrical fire) in a methodical way and explained everything to me as he worked. He cleaned up after fixing the machine, explained the very reasonable bill to me and honored the Angie's list coupon without question. He was very polite and finished everything from start to finish in 45 minutes. Overall, just excellent. I'd hire him again in a second and will gladly recommend him to others.

Technicians arrived exactly on time as promised, introduced themselves, were courteous, and proceeded to evaluate and fix our range/oven in a professional, businesslike, and efficient manner. (A lead tech and a helper did the work, but, unlike some other two-person service teams, never wasted time by gabbing.) No guessing, fumbling, or dawdling--they knew exactly how to work with this model oven. After completing the repairs, the lead technician tested other functions and asked if everything else worked satisfactorily. This seemed a genuine inquiry to be helpful and thorough, NOT "juicing the job" to pad a bill. They treated other items in the work area respectfully and left the kitchen as neat as though they had not been here. They were in and out in all of 20 minutes. We will happily use them--and recommend our friends use them--for all appliance repairs.
Description of Work: Our KitchenAid range/oven door came loose, became misaligned and would not close. The convection fan rattled when in use--sounded like a prop plane taking off. The techs adjusted both and lubricated the door hinges, and checked to ensure other functions worked correctly.

PLEASE NOTE, THIS IS IN RESPONSE TO MANY INACCURACIES POSTED BY APPLIANCE REPAIR LEADERS, LLC IN THEIR RESPONSE TO MY ORIGINAL REVIEW DATED 3/30/2013:1) The company claimed they do not advertise that they service LG appliances. I researched their website prior to schedule a service appointment - www.appliancerepairalexandriava.org - there is a scroll on their webpage showing the brands that they service: Carrier, Sears, KitchenAid, Whirlpool, GE Profile, Wolf, LG, Frigidaire, DCS, Viking. I would consider that as advertising that they service LG.2) The tech did call at 4:40 to say he was running late and would arrive in 10 minutes. Their response noted our area's traffic at rush hour. We have always been considerate of contractors running late and factor in rush hour. The tech arrived at 5:20. The reason I noted this in my original review is because the tech called me on 3/27 and we had a heated conversation about obtaining my refund. He insisted he should be paid for his service call since he spent 40 minutes in my home. This infuriated me since he spent 40 minutes NOT performing any service, not even taking the top off the washer to troubleshoot. At his comment I retorted that he'd wasted 40 minutes of MY time to do nothing.3) Company said with Error Code IE on my washer, the tech checked for leaks in hoses and that he FIXED a leaky hose. There was NEVER any LEAK with any hose on this washer...PERIOD. As explained in original review the washer has a C-clip on the back of machine to hold up the discharge hose so that the slack from the hose when the washer is pushed back into place doesn't become pinched or crushed. Naturally, when the machine got pulled out into the room from the cabinet, the hose became disengaged from this holding clip. Never at any time did that hose or any of the hoses on the machine become detached or loosened. This particular hose was securely attached to the back of the washer and on the other end, securely placed into the drain pipe. The tech never FIXED anything.4) My husband did call the company and agreed to set up an appointment the following day for a different tech to come to our house at no additional cost to us. I had my husband call them back to cancel a second service call because I have no trust or confidenece with this company.5) My biggest issue, besides the wasted time and inconvenience, is the excessive $175 charge for not performing any service or replacing any parts. When I kept showing the tech the printed coupon from Angie's List he insisted that he fixed my machine. Note that he successfully ran it thru a completed cycle on "Speed Wash" setting. We had very detailed notes assembled for him prior to his arrival, including the note that it is on my REGULAR wash setting the machine stops between wash-rinse cycle with Error Code IE at 34 minutes into cycle. We had troubleshooted every option listed in the LG Owner's Manual as well as other suggestions from internet sites. We tried to eliminate obvious so that a professional repairman could make a diagnosis and repair the machine.Member Comments: When the tech called on 3/27 - the day after he was at my home - I demanded a full refund and re-read the coupon to him "$55 OFF and FREE Service Call with ANY Completed Repair - (must mention Angie's List)" - which we mentioned to scheduler and to the tech upon his arrival...and I asked him HOW he determined we should pay him $175? He replied, "I fixed your washer." I said, "You never touched my washing machine and you certainly did not fix it!" After much double-talk, he said, "Read the coupon - I never fixed anything. I'll refund some of your money but I want $60 for my service call".NOTE: The company responded to my review: "Since our work is always guaranteed a FULL REFUND was given - we did not even keep the service call fee." No one ever told US that a FULL REFUND was given!
Description of Work: Called to repair my LG Steam Washer - 1) because few companies will service LG, including our favorite local go-to repair: KENNEY 2) Contacted APPLIANCE REPAIR LEADERS solely because they were one of highest rated companies on Angie's List that advertise servicing LG brand. There was also a $55 coupon and FREE SERVICE CALL for any completed repair which I printed. They gave us a wide window of time - between 2 pm and 5 pm on Tuesday, March 26. Finally at 4:45 Mohamed Dahmani, the technician, called and said he would be here in 15 minutes, He arrived 45 minutes later, glanced at my detailed account of issues with appliance and asked if he could use my personal computer, which is upstairs. I asked what he needed my computer for - he wanted to look up the code. I had my owner's manuals laid out on the table before him - told him he didn't need to use my computer - it's in the Owner's Manual. For an outfit that advertises that they service LG he knew nothing about this washing machine. From internet message boards I've been experiencing a very common problem with this model as other owners. He, with assistance of my husband, pulled the machine out for him to examine it. He determined the outlet hose wasn't clipped - well, it most likely became unclipped when they pulled the machine out from the space. He never bothered to even open the machine to examine the inlet valve which we suspect is the true problem. We have been researching our issues with the washing machine and all of them have the inlet valve needing to be replaced as common denominator. He ran the washer through a speed wash cycle successfully - not the regular wash cycle the problem has been consistently occuring on. Never replaced a single part. Then looked at my coupon, mumbled 'I don't quite know what to charge but I'll be fair" and told us we owed him $175!!! I said, "I have the coupon there from Angie's List - $55 off and Free Service Call with ANY repair - he insisted he figured my coupon into account. I started a load of wash on my regular cycle before he had pulled out of my driveway - and guess what! Nothing was fixed - machine stopped mid-cycle with same IE Error Code. How on earth did this company garner such high ratings from Angie's List consumers!??? We are livid and extremely unsatisfied - both with Angie's List and this company. Also was surprised that the person I talked to on Monday to schedule service appointment didn't want to know the model of my washing machine or any of the issues - most repairman ask this beforehand so that they can arrive with possible replacement parts to fix appliances same day.

thank you for using our services is was shocking to see an F in this review .1-we never advertised servicing lg 2-the tech called to let you know he's running late -and every one knows how is the traffic aroun 5p.m in montgomery county md 3-when it comes to IE error codes there is few steps a tech should do the first is checking the hoses the pump for leaks and he foud one .when he ran the machine every thing was fine 3-customer called back and and said the error is coming back so we set up an appointement for onther tech to ga back (and it does happen every day in any service company)and they said ok 4-for the price we offered all the options to make them happy 5-since our work is always garanteed a FULL REFUND was given ..we did not even keep the service call fee..

Appliance 1: Diagnosis was wrong and he said to get a new washer. I got another company to repair it for $150 which actually saved me $1600 in buying a new washer / dryer pair appliance 2: gave me an estimate to repair a ball bearing for $350, ridiculous price, where the other company did it for $100. I paid almost as much money for his estimates then I did for the repair work.
Description of Work: I asked them to come over and give me an estimate on repairing two appliances.

Late last week, I discovered that my 2-1/2 years old refrigerator (chiller section, not the freezer) was not keeping foods chilled. I called Appliance Repair Leaders around 1:45 PM on Friday, 3/15/2013, and they were able to schedule me for a 4-7PM window that same day. Sammy called (as promised) about 30 minutes before he arrived aruond 5:30 PM. He quickly determined that the fan that forced cold air from the freezer into the chiller portion was not operating, which could be caused by either a broken fan or a malfunctioning control panel. Testing with a new fan did not solve the problem so he tried resetting the control panel. Worked like a charm! He had everything back together and working within just few minutes more. I was delighted with the speed of Appliance Repair Leaders' response and the professionalism of their representative, Sammy. His aim was to get my refrigerator operational as quickly as possible. Trying a reset before ordering what would have been an unneeded part is just one example. Sammy even called back today to check that the fix was holding. I'm very impressed and will be calling them again whenever I have a problem with my appliances. A++++
Description of Work: The chiller section of my 2-1/2 year old refrigerator (not the freezer) was not keeping the food there cold. The freezer section was working fine. Appliance Repair Leaders provided same day service, diagnosed the cause, and resolved the problem at a very reasonable price.

We received excellent service from Appliance Repair Leaders, The repairman was on time, courteous, and listened. He had no problem using our part, which we purchased thinking we could do the job. Replacing the heating coil on our dryer was not a do it yourself job. Nonetheless, he used our part and set right to work, diagnosing that indeed that was the problem. He worked quickly and efficiently and had the dryer fixed in no time. He also noted that there was a lot of lint inside the back of the dryer where the vent had come loose. For a minimal charge--really minimal--we approved his cleaning out the dryer interior (back) for us. We were very happy with the service and feel like we could rely on them again to do an excellent job, should we have another problem with an appliance. We would definitely call them. They honored their coupon, no problem, too.

I was impressed by the professionalism of this company, starting with the person who answered the telephone when I called to request an appointment to repair an oven that wouldn't work. The gentleman took all my information and scheduled an appointment on the date I requested. He did not question or try to argue when I said I had a $55.00 discount coupon from Angie's list. On the day of the appointment, the technician, Sammy, called within the scheduled time window to say he was on his way and arrived promptly thereafter. He soon determined that the reason my oven was not working was a bad thermal cutoff and quickly and efficiently replaced and rewired it and tested the oven to be sure it worked. After examining the microwave and our circuit box downstairs, he advised that while the microwave uses 15 amps, the circuit needs to be upgraded to 20 amps, but did not try to pressure me to have it done or try to refer me to a company that could do the work. I had previously purchased replacement light bulbs for the lights on the bottom of the microwave that shined onto the top of our range but had been unable to install them. At no charge, Sammy replaced the bulbs for me. He also was very professional about accepting without question the Angie's List discount. From beginning to end, I was very satisfied with the service I received from this company and believed their charge - even before the Angie's List discount - to be reasonable. I would not hesitate to contact them again should I have any problems with this or other large appliance in the future.
Description of Work: Replaced and rewired a bad thermal cut-off in oven, replaced light bulbs for microwave, and checked microwave to see why it occasionally tripped the circuit breaker.

I noticed a rattling noise in my washer during the agitation cycle--something that sounded like a chain or loose screws rolling around. It did not happen during any other cycles. I called Monday for an appointment, and Sammi was able to come at a time that was convenient for me on Thursday. He told me he would be at my house between 12n and 3p, and he arrived about 1:40p. He checked under the washer for problems and ran it through all of the cycles. We could not hear any noise. Sammi checked everything out and said that the washer was okay to use. He did advise me not to do a lot of "heavy duty" loads--like all towels or jeans which would hold lots of water because that can put a strain on the motor coupling and transmission.
Description of Work: My washer was making a rattling noise. Sammi ran it through the cycles and checked everything. There was no apparent damage or problem with the machine.

We have an approximately 6 year old GE Profile refrigerator. It started to lose ability to maintain proper temperature in the freezer section several months ago. Late last week it also would not maintain constant temperature in the fridge section as well. I called Bray & Scarff from whom we bought the fridge from to schedule a service call. The earliest they could schedule to fit our work schedules was this coming Friday. Over the weekend the problem became worse. Since I was off work today I called Appliance Repair Leaders after looking them up on Angies list. I called at 11:30 AM and immediately got an appointment between 2 and 5 PM today. At 3:45 I got a call from Sammy saying he would be there in 30 minutes. 25 minutes later he and his apprentice Mitch were at my front door. They quickly diagnosed the problem as a failing control panel and start relay. They quoted a repair price that seemed quite reasonable. Within 20 minutes they had the failed parts replaced and repositioned the ice maker water inlet tubing. The refrigerator seems to be working just fine now, and we received a $45 discount for using Angie's List. We would not hesitate to call Appliance Repair Leaders again for large appliance repair work.

We called Appliance Repair Leaders, and Sammy came by the next day. He diagosed the problem but needed to order the part, and it was the weekend, so the repair wasn't done until four days later. Once the part arrived, he came out right away, after hours, to complete the repair. He was fast, and the refrigerator is working. Had it been a new refrigerator, I might have been concerned about how hurried the repair seemed, but this refrigerator is very old and will be replaced soon when our remodeling project starts. We did have to call to inquire about whether the part had come in, but for the most part, found them very responsive. The only small issue I had was with the bill. We used the Angie's list coupon, and he totaled the invoice manually and miscalculated, slightly overcharging us. We didn't bother to contact them about it since it was such a small amount though. Update: still working well 9 months later.

Excellent. I called in the evening and asked if he could come the next day, which he did. He arrived on time and diagnosed the problem correctly. My wife does laundry around the clock, so his responsiveness in coming out right away and getting it working was very much appreciated. Thanks!

Holiday weekend, got part as soon as was possible. Straight install for the heating element. Upon further investigation the convection motor was not an easy fix. Discussed with me what was best approach, go forward with high labor time or see other alternative ways to fix. He took extra time that I was not charged for the investigation of the problem. Treated me very fairly . I am more informed if the convection oven fails in the future. I would highly recommend Appliance Repair Leaders.

Technician took apart dryer and replaced the heating element and also performed some recommended preventive maintenance so that he would not have to come out again soon. He had all of the parts in his truck so there was no going back to the shop or not, and he working independently, quickly, and came during the agreed upon window. He was very courteous and friendly and overall we are satisfied with his work! The price seemed very reasonable for the amount of work he did and the parts he required.
