Absolute Tree Inc

The recent storm caused a ton of damage to an old maple tree in my yard. Half of it fell in the storm, the other half that remained was a mangled mess. Additionally, trees from two neighboring yards wound up in my yard as well. Within an hour of the tree falling, Ashley Davis was in my yard to survey the damage. We had another tree company there earlier but there were not certified arborists with that company and we wanted to try and save the tree and do it the right way. So we opted to go with Absolute Tree, feeling confident that our beloved tree was in great hands. The next morning, as promised, two crews arrived to begin work in the yard. They arrived before 10 and were there until around 3pm, and they earned every penny. They cleaned up the tree debris, trimmed what they could to repair the maple, and trimmed neighboring trees that were over my property line. One minor issue happened when a tree branch was cut and fell the wrong way, hitting a support pillar for the roof of my covered porch, but that was the only mishap and given the scope of the project, I'm okay with that. I mentioned it to Ashley and he handled it perfectly professionally and I really couldn't be more pleased with the job. My neighbor had a tree fall on her house and crash through her bedroom--and it was still there two days later. Meanwhile, my yard was all cleaned up the day after the storm. Thank you to Absolute Tree and Ashley Davis for taking a really crappy situation and making it easier on us.

Initially great. The price was very good but when I asked for the formal proposal that was needed to schedule the work it was never sent even though I asked for it several times. I gave up and went with another provider I found on Angies List that did great work but a little bit more expensive. This company needs to be more responsive. Also, if you are out of town put an out of office reminder in Outlook so customers don't think they are being ignore. That is only common sense business practice.

They arrived in the morning and removed the trees quickly and efficiently.

We made an appointment for an estimate on Wednesday, 6/12/13 and the rep was to arrive between 7:30-8:00am. We called that morning to confirm and got no answer. At 8:10am we called again and the receptionist/phone person proceeded to blow our minds. The receptionist said that the reps were at our house THE DAY BEFORE and had provided an estimate! They were clearly lying to her because a) we were home at that time and no one was at the house and b) there is no access to the rear of our house - or visibility - at all - from the front of the house. Our townhome has no access and backs up to another row of townhomes. So in order to have provided an estimate the reps would have to have gone to our neighbors roof - or ours - to peer into our backyard. I've experienced a lot of lack of professionalism but this one takes the cake - blatant lies. Just absolute unadulterated lies. And we were late for work waiting for a rep who was never going to come in the first place, although the receptionist did say that she saw we were scheduled for 6/12 and not 6/11.

Late in the afternoon a few days ago I found out that an elderly neighbor had been scammed by a fly-by-night tree outfit (Company X) to pay $7,500 to remove a tree. They had convinced my neighbor that the tree had to be removed immediately, and they had her give them a $2,500 downpayment (supposedly to rent a crane). They planned to come back at noon the next day to do the job (after rushing down to the bank to cash her check). I contacted Ashley Davis of Absolute Tree Service for advice - they have done a fair amount of work for me, and I have come to trust him. He gave me some thoughts and then, at my suggestion, talked to my neighbor. Then, he drove out (we're about a 30 minute drive for him) - it was about 7pm when he arrived. He walked around the property and did all sorts of measurements. One thing he said was that it was literally impossible to do the job with a crane (and he knows quite a bit about cranes). The other thing he said was that his crew could do the job for $3,500. And, he would be willing to rearrange his crew's schedule to do it the very next morning. My neighbor was ecstatic and agreed immediately (she had already informed Company X that she had canceled the contract with them). The next day, Absolute's crew arrived on time, and did the job in a very professional way. In my experience, the responsiveness of Ashley and his crew was without parallel. A lot of people in the neighborhood and city (Fairfax City) jumped in to help as well, and I hope/expect that will bring a lot of business to Absolute. They really deserve it.

The crew did an excellent job. They were quick and neat. I would recommend Absolute Tree Service to everyone without hesitation.

Excellent work all around. Noticed a big improvement in my yard right away; they were able to do the work without me being at home. Absolute Tree does top quality work and is highly recommended when the job needs to be done right. .

They were good. They were ok, nothing special. They were prompt and showed up on time. They did not do that great of a job.

I had two large pine trees on the two front corners of my house with my electrical lines running through the branches of one. When I bought the house 18 months ago, the inspector suggested I have both cut down - because of the electrical lines and because it would give squirrels an easy path into my attic in winter. I contacted Absolute Tree based on Angie's list reviews and asked for a site visit and recommendation on any work they felt should be done. I have seven trees on my property. They inspected the trees without requiring me to be there which was very convenient for me. (I assume you could arrange a time to meet if you prefer being there to ask questions.) That same evening they sent me an itemized quote with the recommended work. Of the seven trees, they recommended work on 4 - trimming of two and removal of the two pine trees. I called the next day, indicating I just wanted the two pine trees removed, asking if the price quote for those would stand. The answer was yes. I also asked about grinding the stumps which wasn't in the quote. They do that work, but not everyone wants it done, so it was omitted. They sent me an updated quote for the two trees with stump grinding. I printed it out, signed it, scanned it in, and emailed it back. Very convenient. Again, for the work, I didn't need to be home. I came home from work that day, the trees were gone with just a pile of shavings in each spot and very light tire marks on one side of the lawn. Very happy with the work.

Absolute Tree was absolutely easy to work with, professional, quick and competent. It was a piece of cake to request an estimate online, get a follow up call for more detail and to arrange a visit to get an estimate in a timely fashion, receive the estimate, schedule and complete the work. I have a million home projects I'm working on simultaneously and appreciate that the process was totally seamless and happened quickly. I'd gotten another estimate - the prices were comparable, but the personal touch with Absolute Tree made the difference. The work was done quickly, the yard was totally cleaned up and the results were satisfactory. I will definitely use them again in the future.

I needed a sycamore tree removed from my yard. Using names of three companies from Angie's List (looked for companies with good reviews), I received three estimates. (I sent requests for estimates through their links in Angie's List.) One company, Absolute Tree, Inc, provided the fastest response (the next day), a detailed estimate, and answered all my concerns. The other companies were priced higher, and not all included grinding the stump down in their price. I signed a contract on line and returned it via e-mail (very easy to do), and then awaited the scheduled date. I was a little surprised it took them several days to schedule so I contacted them via phone. They were horrified that I had fallen through the cracks and Ashley scheduled a date -- then tried to squeeze me in earlier (but was weathered out) then actually took down the tree and ground the stump a day earlier than planned. He immediately sent me a note that the work was done, and the next day I received an invoice for the work. I've had trees removed before and the stump ground -- I could tell they were there by the "wear" on the lawn/ivy where they dragged the tree parts away. But if it weren't for the fact that the tree was missing, I'd have no idea they were here! They took the tree down, ground the stump, and even pulled several roots up for about 10 feet away from the tree. the quick response, outlining of their insurance/certificates/licenses, the speed of scheduling (once they refocused), and the cleanup afterwards totally impressed me. Their price was the lowest estimate but I feel I got more for my money from Absolute. I'm thrilled with their work and would definitely use them again. In fact, I've recommended them to my neighbor now considering tree removals.

Everything went very well with the work that was to be performed. Absolute Tree Inc sent a gentleman to the house and I explained the work to be done. He understood exactly what I wanted and provided me with a free estimate that was very reasonable. His was the best of three top rated tree services that provided estimates for the job. They scheduled a time to complete the work, showed up and safely removed the large limbs, plus the dead branches and cleaned up additional dead wood on the oak trees. They removed all the trimmed wood from my property. They were careful not to damage other plants or birdfeeders in the yard. The way they climbed the trees safely was remarkable to watch. They climbed up seventy to eighty feet in some cases to remove dead branches that were still attached to the oak trees. They were very safe and methodical in the way they cut and trimmed all of the trees. It took the crew five or six hours to complete all the work. My wife and I were very pleased with the work that was done to our complete satisfaction.

The work was superb. The crew worked quickly and efficiently to remove the trees and also removed extraneous brush and debris. The price was very competitive, and the owner and staff were very responsive. Overall, it was a first-rate job executed by a professional crew.

While we did not retain their services, their estimate was price competitive with the lawn service that we ultimately used. We had gotten other estimates that were in excess of 500 USD and/or wanted to pad the bill with trees that were not even of concern. We went with our lawn service purely because they were a known quanitity and we were more comfortable with them. In hingsight, based upon the professiionalism exhibited in their interactions with us and estimate process they would have been a good company to go with and our fears of a one time small job perspective did not apply to Absolute tree, like some of the other Arborists that gave us estimates.

Workers clearly put big emphasis on safety and protection of my property. Process was easy - they were able to provide a quote without much demand on my time, they scheduled service promptly and performed service on schedule. Took significant safety precautions. Were able to work in a small area and made sure nothing fell on the fence or deck. Carried debris to curb and cleaned up completely. Price was very competitive.

They have very high references and I would commend them. He is excellent all around. The owner came and I coordinated so I can actually walk around with him to get a good sense of exactly what was needed to receive contradictory advice from several others, but I like not only his message on my two major trees, but his expansive looks to say that in various ways the service is provided, but if he did it tree by tree it will be quite expensive, which had been pretty much my experience prior. I would use them again.

Perhaps the link through Angie's List is broken? I never received a response so I hired the service provider who did respond to our request

some hiccups in original responses, but when Ashley got hold of the job things went smoothly from there.

We discovered a large tree leaning toward the house and decided it needed to be removed. We also decided to remove a medium size tree. We contacted Absolute Tree Inc and they were prompt in visiting our house to survey the situation and provide with a quote; the company representative was courteous and knowledgeable. We accepted the quote a few days later and faxed our acceptance to the company. We did not hear from the company for almost a week, so we decided to call to ask when the work was scheduled to be done. The answer was "Today. Sorry weren't you told?." We were caught off guard, but gave the go-ahead for that day. The crew arrived later in the afternoon and completed the work quickly and efficiently. They did a super job of cutting down the trees and cleaned up any debris generated during the work. The supervisor and every member of the crew were professional and courteous. We were very happy with the end result and would hire Absolute Tree again in the future.

They showed up with 8 guys, 3 trucks and a bobcat. Everything was removed and cleaned up in 2.5 hours.

Absolute Tree Inc's price is the best, so that was great. They gave me a 10% for being an Angie's List Member. This was not an emergency tree removal. They left the stump because I chose not to pay the extra to have it ground down.They did a good job of doing what I wanted, but they weren't very professional. The main guy who talks to you, he was sitting there holding a bag of Doritos and talking to me with his mouth full! I have never had that happen to me before and I was kind of in shock! He was chewing Doritos and he was saying "Well, do you want it like this, or that?" So once they had gone I decided never to use them again. It was his manner, it wasn't a professional manner. They did the job and the workers seemed to be pretty competent. The workers were twice his age - he looked like he was 20 years old - and the workers were about 40 but they did their things, and I was "Who's the kid?"

I am very pleased with the service that Absolute Tree provided. They came promptly to provide an estimate, which was significantly lower than the other 2 services we contacted even before the 10 percent Angie's List discount. Then they worked with us to add 2 more trees to the initial service request. They accommodated a special request we had (to cut us a slice from the biggest tree they removed). They scheduled it for a day that worked for us, spent the whole day removing the trees, and when they were done, they not only removed what they had cut, but also some piles of brush that were already there! This is an exceptionally user friendly company, from the office to the owner. I plan on using them again to remove other trees on the property later this year. I highly recommend them.

The estimator was on time for his appointment; the office staff was helpful throughout the process, scheduling, payment, etc. The crew was prompt, professional and did a nice job cleaning up after the removal. I would definitely use their service again!
