Absolute Tree Inc

Over thirty years ago I planted a Kwanzan cherry in the front yard of my new townhouse. In the years since I have been the only one to prune and care for the tree. I avoided the job for the past several years simply because I didn't feel up to it anymore -- it's easy to butcher a tree or a shrub and I did not want that, either from myself or someone else. After a lot of searching online and asking for recommendations from others, I thoroughly checked out the resources available on Angie's List and decided to give Absolute Tree, Inc. a try. I sent a description of my needs via email to the company's website on Dec. 14th and received an immediate response to my inquiry. I received a full quote with supporting information via email the next day. The quote and description of the work seemed right in line with what I had expected. The price, while not cheap, was at the lower end of the range I had thought it might be, and fully in line with what I wanted done and my expectations. I called and talked to Jill in the office, then with Michael Todd, who had visited the premises while I was at work and prepared the quote. I then emailed my signed acceptance of the quote and awaited notification of when the work could be completed, originally expecting it to be early after the first of the new year. I was really pleased then to received an email on the evening of the 16th, saying they would be out to complete the job the next day. A crew of two (later joined by a third for the cleanup, I think) arrived just before the expected hour on the morning of the 17th and immediately set to work. It took about an hour to complete the job and, after showing me what they had done and getting my enthusiastic approval, they cleaned up all the trimmings and debris and shredded the results. It was good experience all the way through: good company, good price, good service, great crew, and excellent results.

Absolute Tree provided a proposal promptly, and their cost was comparable but lower than two other quotes received (all had strong Angie List reviews), so I went with them. There were a couple minor communication issues along the way, but they were easily resolved with a phone call or two, and everyone I communicated with was professional and eager to help. The work was done well and cleanly.

The team was very prompt, polite and prepared. They had a bucket truck, as well as all the necessary tools. They performed all the required services in a completely professional manner. They double checked all the details that were provided by the estimator. The estimator, who met us earlier also was extremely knowledgeable and professional. We could not have been more pleased, and would definitely recommend Absolute Tree Service for use.

I bought a big deal from them on Angie's List -- $150 for $300 worth of tree service. Could never get them to show up to do the work so I had to cancel the "Big Deal". My guess is that they accepted too much work and could not perform it all.

They did an outstanding job! The owner was very responsive and agreed to grind the roots in addition to the stump. The dying tree was extremely large. They took the time to cut it down safely ensuring no damage to any property, were extremely professional and courteous, had very professional equipment, and cleaned up both our property and our neighbors who allowed them access to their driveway. I would highly recommend this company!

Contractor was on time for the appointment. He offered a price that seemed high and wanted to schedule the service during the growing season.

Absolute Tree responded very promptly to our request for an estimate and the quoted cost was very competitive. It, however, took more than one email to get a date for the work to be scheduled - October 2. Unfortunately due to forecast heavy storms that date had to be cancelled. No new date was given. When I heard nothing I sent an email the following Tuesday, October 6, but received no response. I then phoned on Friday, October9, and (as I subsequently learned) spoke to the answering service. I was assured that I would get a call back but again received no response. I called again the following Tuesday, October 13, and was advised that I had been scheduled for the previous day! The work team, however, actually arrived while we was on the phone! Once here they set about doing the work with very impressive efficiency. There were five men and three trucks - one with a chipper to dispose of the dead Redbud, one with the stump grinder on a trailer, and one with the replacement Japanese Snowbell. The work crew were outstanding and great ambassadors for the company. My one complaint is that they ran the stump grinder over the lawn without putting down protective boards. This left two severe indentations. When the original proposal was submitted it was envisaged that they would bring the stump grinder over a flag stone path and that this would be protected with boards. The crew, however, opted to temporarily remove and replant some small shrubs to enable an alternative access. I agreed to this due to a concern that even with protective boards the path might be damaged and despite the damage to the lawn still feel this was the lower risk alternative. I would have rated Absolute Tree excellent in every way except for the lack of response to my emails and phone calls and the failure to use boards to protect the lawn from stump grinder. The poor responsiveness may well have been due to excessive workload due to the many outstanding reviews this company has received as well as the impact of bad weather. Despite the problems I had with their lack of response to my emails and phone calls I would very likely request a estimate from them again if I need similar work in future.

Did a great job reshaping the tree. The crew was great; professional and polite. This is the second year I've used them. Next year will be the third! Felt the cost was fair give the scope of work.

This company was absolutely wonderful to work with. From the moment I first contacted them for a quote to final payment, they were responsive, professional, and friendly. As far as getting a quote, they included estimates for both just having trees trimmed and another estimate for removal. They were the first company to respond to me and also the first to come out for an estimate. It turns out they were just a tad higher than another local company but because they asked me to let them know what other estimates came in at, I called over. They were so great that they reduced their bid to within $250 of the lowest bid. We decided to go with them because they seemed more professional and were truly responsive to all our needs. They made sure to walk us through what they would do and even added a few smaller trees we wanted to have removed. They arrived on time and even moved our truck for us since my brother-in-law can't drive a manual (we weren't home). They performed the work quickly and cleaned up after themselves. There were no branches or anything left in our yard, except the stump grindings we wanted for mulching. They exceeded our expectations by grinding down a couple additional stumps we had and even trimming a tree that really needed but we hadn't discussed. I would 100% recommend these guys and I plan on using them in the future. They are the quintessential family-owned business!

This is the second time we have gone with Absolute Tree Inc. - and we couldn't be more pleased. We had a backyard canopy raising, as well as the removal of a very large tree plus stump grinding. This company goes above and beyond - and at a reasonable cost. We now have light on our backyard garden - and have grass growing where there was once a very large tree. Easy to initiate work - clear work scope - and quick resolution of any left overs. We will be sending all of our tree business to Absolute Tree!

Excellent. This company is really fantastic and I am an expert on tree removal companies. In the 20 plus years I have lived in this house with the amount of trees I have/had( Started with 31 now I have 15)...I know tree removal.!! These guys are really the crème of the crop. The owner Ashley is honest and upfront about his pricing. He explains everything that needs to be done, and it is done exactly how he says. His crews are really great. I am very picky when anyone else cleans my yard but Absolute always makes that extra effort to make sure they left the yard as they found it. It really gives me such peace of mind knowing I have found a company I can count on.

All I needed was a medium-sized tree pruned back to keep it from growing into overhead electrical wires. After one unsuccessful contact on Angie's List, Absolute Tree finally responded to a second request and took over two weeks to deliver an estimate for the single tree trimming. Then, they were unable to complete the service within a one week window when I needed it done. They were apologetic and told me they usually have a 3-4 week working backlog anyway, but when I had this done by another provider last year, they showed up within 48 hours with a crew and completed the job within an hour. I wish I still had their contact information. I don't understand why an hour of tree trimming requires such a long, cumbersome process from this company when others can be so much quicker and easier. Will go with another service provider and I wouldn't recommend Absolute Tree unless you're absolutely not in any hurry.

I was very pleased! They arrived at 8AM and were done by Noon. They did exactly what was quoted and what was requested. There was no attempt to increase the work for additional revenue. There was zero damage to the property and they completely cleaned up after themselves by raking the lawn and blowing the sidewalks and driveway. When they left there was no evidence they had been there except for the tree work which looked great. They were on time; on target; and on budget!

It turned out very well. They did a very nice job. They had to work around boats and did a very good job.

A neighbor's tree fell into my yard. I called Absolute to get an estimate for removal of the fallen tree, but also noted that I wanted to get an estimate for some other work in my yard and in my neighbor's yard (he'd agreed to remove another problematic limb). I was told I'd be contacted by an arborist, and 48 hrs later, I got an email saying that someone would come by, check your email for an estimate. I replied that I wanted to be home for an estimate because of the complexity of the estimate and it involving my neighbor's trees. I got a response confirming that they'd coordinate with me, and then no contact until I got an emailed estimate Thursday morning which didn't cover all the work I needed. It was very dissapointing. The estimate was also higher than another I got for that line item.

Couldn't have asked for a smoother experience. I emailed Ashley pictures of the stumps with a ruler laying across the top. She replied quickly with a cost estimate and time frame which I agreed to. I used their on line payment portal to take care of the payment. Was great to get this done without having to play telephone tag. The workers took care of the stump removal while no one was at home. All I had to do was rake the remains of the stumps around so they can decompose over time. Very easy company to do work with and the job was excellent!

I've used them previously for stump grinding so when I had two trees that had to come down I call Absolute tree service in addition to four other companies for estimates. Initially ATS's estimate was significantly higher then the others. When I brought this to their attention, the owner, Ashley Davis came back out and re-estimated the job. Their new quote was the lowest bid I received so I contracted with them. The tree removal went smoothly and without incident. They showed up early, took down two 50' sassafras trees in less than three hours, with no damage to plants, grass, etc. Very professional and hard-working crew. They had to do the stump grinding in two separate visits after the trees were cut and they missed one of the days, but luckily showed up the next day to do the job. They never called to say they were coming though. The stump grinding work was thorough and professional and they cleaned up the random wood chips with a blower when they were done. I highly recommend them and will use them again when I have a need for tree services.

These guys are not only top notch professionals but clean and kind. I will use them again

12 days later, still haven't heard, wouldn't use them now regardless...

From first contact to the completion of the job, Absolute Tree did an amazing job at a very fair price. Over the last two years, despite efforts to save them, my trees were infected and killed by the Emerald Ash Borer and needed to be taken down to prevent property damage. I have a quarter acre lot which was 99% shaded and had 15 trees on it. 14 of the trees needed to come down, and they ranged in size from about fourteen inch trunks to one four plus foot trunk and some had "two" trees growing from the same base. All of my trees were near or over my fence, my roof, and over my neighbor's property and required a tremendous amount of skill and effort to remove. I searched Angie's List for a provider, and after getting four estimates from top rated providers, decided to go with Absolute Tree Inc. I called in and scheduled an appointment to meet with their arborist, Michael Todd, and he came promptly at the appointed time. He spent about an hour or so evaluating each tree and gave me honest recommendations about my options. Within a day, I had an estimate back for my job which was very, very fair for the work to be performed. No one else could match it. I scheduled my work during a very busy season and was able to get my job done about three weeks after I made my first call. On job day, a crew of skilled workers showed up with modern and very well maintained equipment. The first thing I noted was the professionalism of each member of the crew and the care they showed towards my property. They immediately went out of their way to answer my questions and address my concerns, and to set up their equipment with great care for my existing landscaping. Because of the size of my job, it took about 2.5 days to complete the whole thing, but the crews did an amazing job and cleaned up every branch, limb, and leaf from my yard (it looked better after than before they did the job). They also ground out the stumps for me and trimmed my one remaining tree at no cost. All of the debris was hauled away, my yard was raked and by driveway cleaned. I was truly impressed with the skill and care the crew used to prevent any possible property damage despite the very challenging conditions that were present at my property. They did not ding, dent, or damage a single thing, and this is not an easy task, especially with my fencing. I used Absolute Tree's online payment option which was quick and easy. Jill at the front office was very easy to work with and helped me with all aspects of my job as well. Ashley Davis, the company president was personally involved in my job as well and kept in contact with me to ensure I was happy from start to finish. Overall I was very pleased with my experience with Absolute Tree and would recommend and use them again.

They showed up on time (almost exactly), and were very professional. The crew worked safely and the area under the tree looked better than when they started with all the clean up they did. The tree looks great, and it was a super easy transaction. I would use them again in the future. Improvements could be made in terms of digital responsiveness (emails/texts/ etc.) but I think overall it was a great service at a fair price.

Service reschedule several times most likely due to weather. Received an invoice after original service date was set, when service had not been done. Approximately 1.5months after service was completed and paid for received another invoice stating that service had not been paid for. Had to send proof of payment and explain that first invoice was sent before service had been completed. Overall staff was courteous but the process seemed unorganized, possibly overpriced, and a headache.

The operation went smoothly and rapidly once the tree removal people arrived. I was entirely satisfied with the work and the price!

Absolute Tree crew were able to fit us in their busy schedule and removed all the huge branches and cleaned up all the mess. The crew was very skilled in cutting down all the branched without damaging and of my wife's flower beds. I HIGHLY recommend them to anyone who has tree damage !

The team a Absolute Tree were great, they knew exactly what we wanted and provide an estimate significantly lower than the competitors. Our job was not big and the price reflected what was needed. They were prompt and finished the job very quickly. They will be my first choice for any additional tree service I may need in the future.
