I dropped in to have my state inspection done on my vehicle. I had to do both safety and emissions testing as part of the inspection. The owner was very nice and saw me on the spot (which is great because other places I went to required me to make an appointment and come back later). He was in the middle of another inspection so once he finished that, he inspected my vehicle. The total process, along with the wait for the vehicle in front of me, took 15 min. I was surprised at how quickly I was able to be on my way.
I visited this service station on one other occasion. I had relatives in town who rented an RV. There was a very foul smell coming from the RV's air conditioning. After spending several hours on the phone with the RV rental company's customer service, we decided to look up the only open service station close by. It ended up being Uptown Service. Again, we showed up unannounced as the owner was closing up shop. Despite the fact that he was about to leave for the day, he still looked at our RV. He took apart our AC and determined what the problem was (turns out it was a dead mouse that had crawled into the AC unit). Even though we made him late for his dinner plans he had that evening, you would have never known. The owner was very friendly, fixed the problem quickly and allowed my relatives to get on the road that evening to start their trip. 
I will definitely go back for anything that needs to be done to my car and I highly recommend Uptown Service to anyone who wants an honest, reliable, and just plain friendly neighborhood service station. 

They are great actually. They are really fast.

Oil change went smoothly.  Usually I want to get there as soon as they open, since they accept work on a first come, first serve basis, but this time I was unavoidably a little later.  They must have their system down pretty well, because I noticed no lapse or delay, and was able to pick up my car no later than in the past.  
I have also previously used them for minor repairs (squeaking door; hood wouldn't latch; etc.) as well as my annual inspection, and have never had any billing surprises, or later regrets once I get the car home. 
It isn't always about saving a couple dollars here, and a few cents there.  Sure, there are places to get a less expensive lube job, but I'm a big proponent of using local businesses, so when I find one that is trustworthy (and Dale even remembers some of the idiosyncrasies of my older car), I hold onto it, and can be a very loyal customer. 

Uptown Service is everything you would want in a neighborhood mechanic. They are prompt, responsive and simply good people. I would recommend them to anyone.

See above. They operate on a first come first serve basis, so it is best to have someone drop you off.

Their service is friendly. The mechanic is extremely honest and he will tell me if it is worth fixing. They won't come up with things that need to be fixed that really don't. They are very honest.
