TruGreen Lawn Care - 5300

I've never been happy with my lawn, so I thought that maybe a "professional" could get it in shape. I talked to some of my neighbors that used TruGreen, and decided to give them a try.
The first debacle had to do with the price. Apparently all my neighbors were on an older plan that was no longer offered. Naturally, that program was about half the price of the new programs. As a compromise, TruGreen said they could drop one of the treatments so I wouldn't have to pay so much.
The first time the came out, in the middle of April, they treated the lawn and it did a pretty good job of keeping the weeds under control, I had fewer weeds than most of my neighbors, but by the middle of May everyone else's lawns were greening up, but mine was still yellow.
When they came out for the second treatment in June, I was expecting to see an improvement, but several weeks later my lawn wasn't green and wasn't growing. The weeds seemed to be doing pretty well though.
That's when I decided I needed to intervene. I went over to Lowe's, picked up a bag of fertilizer, and three or four days later it was green again. And that cost 1/3 the price of one of the treatments w/ TruGreen.
Now, TruGreen does have a guarantee where, if you're not happy with what they've done, they will come out and redo it for free. Well that's fine and dandy, but every time I called, I waited on hold for 15+ minutes to talk to someone. That gets old pretty quickly.
I also question what good it does to call and have them come out again, when the first treatment did so little. If I'm going to have call each time to have them come back out and treat my lawn again, I might as well save myself some money and just do it myself.

Called them and left a messge and they returned called within hour and went over their program and costs.  Then they had scheduler call me back about an hour later to schedule the service.

They are excellent.

I have had their service for several years, and they always show up on time.

I didn't have a lot of experience with them.  I thought they were kind of pricey, but their work was excellent.  I paid them monthly.  Once I made phone calls, they were very prompt to schedule and get out, so I didn't have to wait very long once I contacted them.  They were great.

I have experienced several episodes of overbilling or billing for service not provided. When I called, they corrected the charges. But, their no. is not local. This results in long waiting times on the phone and talking with individuals not locally responsible. I discontinued one service after the 2nd problem and have just experienced another overcharge.

We felt like it was just an inadequate job. They were very quick, and it didn't seem like it helped the trees. We were just overall kind of unhappy with them. If someone were to ask me about their service, I would say them to look for a different company. In terms of responsiveness, they came out in a short amount of time, and actually, they tried to come back without calling us or getting an approval that they were coming, so my husband told that we will not be paying them and wanted it cancelled, but that was bothersome. If it was a person who had a contract with them and wanted them to come back, it would have been very good, but we didn't want them to come. We will not use them again in the future.

We work with them because they guarantee their work. If you are not satisfied, they will come back and repeat the process.

I used them last year and cancelled the service; I was not happy with them. They seem to operate in a way that is most profitable for them; in other words you feel like you are part of an assembly line. They come in; do whatever they do and move on. I don't feel like they sprayed on days that were necessarily good days to spray; one day they came to spray trees when the wind was blowing over 50 miles an hour; he even documented that on the sheet he left. I called and said I was not happy and that they needed to come and spray again. When I would take to him about the condition of the trees; he did not seem to have any advice; they were not doing well and there was nothing he could do about it. As far as the lawn I had to have them come back time and again because they were spraying for weeds and adding fertilizer but the yard was always weedy. If you called them they would come back and spray at no charge but I just felt they were no using enough chemicals. It was quite costly for such a small yard.
Their job was to do as many customers as possible in one day instead of pleasing the customer.

We would not recommend them.  We won't use them again.  We've asked them not to even call us.  There were always problems with the financial or the billing part.  They had bills undone or they wouldn't do what they said they were going to do.  The last one was, they came in and did a treatment that we told them we didn't want.  We did everything we could to try and work with them and keep them, but it didn't work out.  The people who came to do the service were friendly enough, but the financial or the billing part was always a hassle.  I didn't like that they did things that we didn't ask them to do and then they didn't show up for things that we did ask them to do and that there was always a hassle in the billing.  I don't know how to compare their prices with others.  When we got it done, the quality of what they did wasn't bad.  When I think of responsiveness, it's them billing, meeting and then begin saying that they didn't have it and do over billing and so on.  We tried over and over again and that's why we worked with them for the whole year.  We finally said that we are not going to do this anymore.                          

They are really good. My lawn was the greenest in the whole neighborhood. I had a serious problem with grubs and that was completely resolved. They even have a guarantee that they will come back and treat it again for free if the grubs return. I think that the price is reasonable. They always leave a little report on your doorknob if you are not home; otherwise they give you an oral report on your lawn. They don't solicit for any additional services. You can pay for the whole year and you get a discount.

They spray some kind of high pressure stuff around the house.  I haven't had a bad experience with them but it was really truly a good experience.

I thought I was going to lose my trees but they saved them.  The workers aren’t here very long but they do a good job.  They want to come too often so I have to watch that.

I originally contacted them through their corporate website which apparently caused some scheduling issues. I suspect if I had contacted the local office directly it would have gone much smoother. After not hearing from the for more than a week after my initial web request I called the 800 number and was transferred to the local office. They actually sent someone out that day to inspect the trees in our yard and provide an assessment. The technician seemed very knowledgeable and provided lots of information on how to better care for our trees and shrubs. We scheduled the service to be completed the next week and everything seemed to be on the right track. On the day of the scheduled service I received a call that from the technician explaining that they could not make our appointment due to some scheduling conflicts. The appointment was rescheduled for a couple days later and unfortunately no one showed up. I called the local office on Monday asking for an explanation and they said the second missed appointment was due to the tech having a family emergency and that we were on the schedule for Tuesday. They showed up Tuesday afternoon and completed the service within about an hour. Other than the scheduling issues I was happy with the service and the tech was professional and helpful.

They are dependable. Sometimes we forget to leave our gate unlocked and they leave us a little note and they come back at another time. The people that come out are easy to work with. The people in the office are very pleasant and easy to work with. We've used them for several years in a row and we haven't had any problems with them. The prices seem high to us but we don't know what the going rate is. My husband has called sometimes to tell them that there are still some weeds and they come right out to take care of any they didn't get. They don't give us a time when they are coming but they give us a day. They leave a statement stating what they have done and they put a flag up out front showing that it has been done. We will absolutely continue to use them. We've used them for 3 or 4 years.

I started calling Tru Green at Noon on Friday. Just the prompts to get to the right department are time-consuming. By the time I spoke with a live person on my first call, I started giving him my information, but it took too long and I had to hang up. The second time I called, I spoke to a person, gave my location, contact information, needs, and hoped for an appointment.  No.  That didn't happen.  Someone had to call me back.  They did not call me back in the time they said, hours later.  Then, I spoke to a person, who wanted all the same information again.  I asked to set an appointment. He said they would call me back within 10 minutes.  No call.  On Sat. morning, I called them, asked to schedule someone to come out to treat my lawn, he passed me to someone else.  It turns out I had a past-due balance from 15 years ago, which I said why didnt this come up in the previous 5 people I had talked to. She said she didn't know.  I paid the past-due, asked that they not keep my card info on file, and said I would call someone else for the service. I spent approx. 90 minutes trying to set up an appointment, speaking with a total of 6 people. At that point, I decided that they are inefficient, unprofessional, and not interested in anything  but money through upselling more than I want or need. I will not call them again.

I am pretty happy with them and their results, but they are pretty expensive. They respond within the same day. I would use them again in future.

I like that they stay in contact and do what they say they will do. There is nothing I don't like. They have been polite and keep me informed. The quality of their work is good.

They came out and did a good job. I had used them before. We pay per application. The only problem that I had was that they started the service again on their own when we did not request it. They sent us a bill for it as well. I don't think that was very professional. For that reason, I would not use them again.

I was very disappointed with them. They sprayed grass seeds over my whole lawn. It got into my plants and flower beds as well. I was not happy with them at all. We obviously fired them after signing a yearly contract with them.

They do a good job. When I didn t like the way the lawn was turning out they gave me an extra treatment for free. I was very impressed with the service and I would recommend them to anyone. I felt that it was a fair service and that they were very professional and friendly.

Trugreen Chemlawn treats our trees. We have been using their service for a couple of years. They seemed a little aggressive about what they needed to do. They are a good crew who informs us of any health precautions concerning the products used.

Truegreen Chemlawn came to weed and fertilize our lawn. I felt that the employees of the company were courteous, professional, and did a great job for the service they provided.
