A Cut Above

the worst grooming experience I have experienced.  Explained in detail how I wanted the cut which the groomer totally disregarded.  They told me that although the groomer had detailed notes, they were totally ignored.  The cut was horrible.  Had to have them even out  the cut around the dogs face which was totally screwed up.  Plus, It took them almost six hours to groom my pet and I had an appointment.

I called the day of hoping for an opening, and they had one. I took him in and they were immediately friendly and sweet with him. This is always something I look for. One thing that made me very happy is that my dog didn't shake or seem afraid in any way to go to them. Of course, I'm sure he's used to being groomed, but it made me more relaxed about leaving him. (I admit to being a bit overly protective.)
The facility is clean and well ordered. I was told that they watch the dogs to see how they interact with each other. If there's a problem, then they put the more aggressive one in a kennel. I was a bit worried because my dog had shown signs of being aggressive to other dogs on walks at Tanner and Liberty Park. He does much better off-leash, but I was still concerned as I didn't want him to attack any dog. I doubt with the teeth he has left he could do much real damage, but I didn't want him to do anything to another dog. I haven't had him long enough to be completely sure how he will react. They said he behaved beautifully, which made me very happy.
The women who took care of us are professional, friendly, and smart. They know what they're doing.
I highly recommend this company and give the grade of A+.
One thing I noticed and appreciated: there's a sign in the reception area that asks patrons not to come early to pick up their dog as it makes it difficult for the groomer to finish up once the pet hears its owner's voice. I never thought of that so was happy to have it spelled out for me.

it was easy to make the appointment, the whole process took about 3 hours, and the job was profesionally done.

I took our two dogs to be groomed here. The owner and her assistant did
a good job on the cut itself, plus they were thorough and trimmed
our dogs' nails and expressed their anal glands, etc. My complaint is
that the people working there seemed a little mean toward the dogs.
Even when I was inside the store, they were yelling at a dog that was
barking in the back in a mean way. It might have been a bad day or a
particularly annoying dog they were correcting, but I still felt
uncomfortable. I also thought they cut one of our dogs' ears too short -- I would have liked a phone call before they cut them that short.

Very well! We will be return customers.

While walking my dogs in a nearby park, I met this fabulous looking Standard Schnauzer. He was so handsome!!! His owners told me they groom him at Dawg Spaw. I've taken my dogs twice now, and had a great experience both times. I was so excited to learn about their inexpensive dental services. Now I can have my dogs' teeth cleaned every time they get groomed. I'm not talking about having their teeth simply brushed; I'm talking about an actual cleaning, without anesthesia! I can't wait to hear what my vet says at our next exam! After about six weeks, when my dogs were due for their next appointment, the Dawg Spaw called and reminded me. Also, they agreed to meet me at their shop earlier than they normally open to accomodate my schedule. Finally, and most importantly, my dogs look like a million bucks! So gorgeous!!!
