I?m in the process of refinancing my house and I needed a new roof to make sure the loan funded. So I looked up roofing contractors on Angie?s list and read good things about Intermountain West Contractors (IWC). I called Gerald (IWC?s owner) and asked if he could meet with me the next day to give me a bid for a new roof, which he was able to do. He arrived the next day, on time, and after introducing himself looked at my roof. The first thing he said was, ?To be honest your roof would be fine to go another year or so before you need to replace it.? I was impressed by his honesty and felt comfortable that he wasn?t trying to hard sell me. But, I was told my loan wouldn't fund unless I had three years left on my roof so I had him look at it and give me a bid. After getting on my roof and looking around he told me that my roof looked structurally sound and so I could save money by recovering it instead of replacing it. He gave me a bid to replace my roof and another bid to recover my roof. I choose to recover my roof. I had a hard deadline because I had locked the interest rate on my mortgage application and so had 30 days to close the loan. I needed to get a new roof before I got the home appraisal. He was able to accommodate me. During the process we had a couple of misunderstandings as to what the contract stipulated, but, he was amiable to the win-win solutions I proposed. One of the misunderstandings was about when the project was to be started. But, he was able to rearrange his schedule to accommodate my expectation. The roof was finished on time and looks good. I was impressed that his crew was able to complete the job in one day as apposed to the 2 days he had told me it would take. Every single person on his crew was professional, courteous, and treated my property with respect, which I appreciate.They cleaned my gutters. They cleaned my property of roofing debris and hauled everything away. The only small complaint I have is that it was sometimes hard to get a hold of him, which was important to me because I had a hard deadline with the close of my refinance. Lastly, note that I didn't give a grade for quality only because I don't know enough about roofing to accurately judge that. However, my roof does look nice.

Time for a new roof. I searched Angie's list and found Gerald at the top of the ratings. My experience is certainly consistent with all of the great reviews. Gerald met me after work to go over the details of the job. I appreciated the fact that his hours and availability are such that I didn't have to take time away from work to meet with him. He was patient and responsive to my questions and concerns and in what was a new experience for me, he didn't try (not even a little) to up sell me. His crew was on time, they were careful during the tear down so as to not do any damage to the rest of the house or the yard and they cleaned up after themselves. The job was completed today and it looks fabulous. We'll meet next week for the final walk through. I'm very pleased with the result and the price and would not hesitate to work with Gerald again nor would I have the slightest trouble recommending his work to friends.

The roof on our house needed to get replaced so I decided to find a good roofing company on Angie's List and IWC came highly recommended from other Angie's List users. Therefore, I decided to call them up and have them come out and do a bid on our house. The owner, Gerald Sommer, came out 4 days later to measure the roof and talk about the project. I had contacted some other contractors and none of them had mentioned putting in a ridge vent for me, so when Gerald included that in what he would do for our roof without me mentioning it, I felt like I had found the right contractor. In addition, he quoted me a great price for the whole project. The project started 2 weeks later. The crew showed up bright and early at around 0700 and got right to business tearing the 2 old layers of the roof off. Also when they found plywood boards that were in bad condition they went ahead and replaced them for us. Around noon, they had gotten most of the old roof off and started putting the new roof and was finished by 1600. After they were done, they did a great job cleaning up after themselves which included using a rolling magnet to make sure they picked up all the nails on the ground and going over the perimeter of the house a couple of times to make sure that they got all of the debris from the project. They also will take all the trash from this project away for us obviously. Overall, fabulous job by the entire crew. They were very efficient and had lots of people working to make sure they could get it done in one day for us. In addition, they were happy to answer all of our questions and concerns. Now I am waiting for them to come the next day and finish flashing the chimney and for Gerald's rain gutter guy to come out and finish adding the rain gutters to the two areas I requested whenever he is able to gets out here. With the amazing job that they have done so far, I don't imagine these last two parts of the project to be a problem. I am very happy with our new roof and feel that we won't have to worry about it for a long time to come. I would love to recommend them to anyone who needs roof repairs!

The crew arrived on thursday and removed the existing tiles. the Roof was complete by saturday PM. The rain gutter downspouts were removed for the project and were not replaced for about 2 weeks. This was the only issue we had with the job. I was reimbursed for a broken sprinkler box and valve and a lost extension chord. The Roof looks very nice!

Found IWC on Angies List, and contacted them for a bid. The owner Gerald came out the next day and measured the roof. Then he pulled out a brochure for the shingles to be used. He explained the roofing process: Stripping the old roof, laying new plywood for a solid base, laying an ice guard, then installing the new shingles with a ridge vent, and finally the flashing around the chimney and vertical walls. He then gave me the bid, which was a good price. I picked my shingle color and faxed him the signed contract and was contacted by his secretary to schedule the job. His crew showed up on time and got straight to work. They had 5-6 guys working their a**** off. They were there from 7 am to 9:30 pm for a few days to get the job done. I was particularly impressed to they mounted the swamp cooler back onto the roof and reflashed it making sure everything was perfectly level. Once the job was done they made sure all debris was swept up and clean, they even used a rolling magnet to pickup every nail. I definitely would recommend them to a friend. Bottom Line: Quick, Reasonably Priced, Perfect Installation. If you need a new roof give them a call!

Quick accurate estimate initially. I had to wait on an insurance claim but was able to communicate and work out a repair while waiting and the IWC was helpful in getting started. We asked them to start early and the dumpster and crew were there by 8:00am. The job was done quickly and professional within 6 hours. We were able to inspect and confirm it was to our satisfaction and it looked great. After the job we asked if we could dispose of some extra garbage using their bin. They spent an extra 3 hours picking up and hauling material away that they did not need to. I highly recommend this crew and specifically appreciate Gerald Summers.

IWC replaced and repaired our 22-year old roof. Gerald's crew was extremely efficient. They began work early in the morning, on time each day and clean up was done at the end of each day as well. The supervisor did an excellent job of managing IWC employees, staying on schedule and budget, dealing with unforeseen necessary repairs and communicating with us on the progress of all work. Also of particular note is excellent follow up by both Gerald and Joe. We had plenty of opportunities to ask questions or express any concerns. I felt confident that had there been any issues, they would have been addressed expeditiously. I highly recommend IWC for roofing, re roofing or roofing repair work.

They did a great job and finished the work on time. They also cleaned up the work site. The new roof looks great and I would hire them again if needed.

Over all work looked good. Only problems: 1. James told us that we would not be able to see that the new shingles were placed over the old the old shingles because new drip edge flashing would be installed over the old shingles before the new shingles were installed. This way no tear off of the old roof was necessary because you could not see that the new shingles were placed over the old shingles. New flashing was not installed. 2. James advised me to buy heat tape from an outside vendor and the roofing crew would install it at no extra charge. I bought the tape and placed it on the roof with the stocked singles. When the crew completed the shingles, the box with the heat tape was sitting on the roof unopened. James was made aware of the heat tape not being installed and told my wife on two seperate phone calls that he would send someone over to finish. After talking to James face to face on 8/15, he was going to send someone over the next day to complete the job. My wife has e-mailed him twice (at his request ) if no one showed up to complete the job. As of this date, 8/26, the job is not complete. I chose IWC to do the job based on the work that James said would be done and the high ratings on Angies List. Only thing I would do different is withhold final payment until the job was complete.

Jarold was great to communicate with and was here supervising his workers daily. He values his reputation and will go to great lengths to make sure you are happy with his work. The installers were cheerful and hard-working. They were very thorough at cleaning up the mess every single day--sometimes it took them two hours to clean up. They were careful not to harm the plants growing in our yard. I really appreciated how thoughtful and thorough the whole team was during the whole process--from the initial bid to the completion of the new roof.

Good service, professional job. Very happy with finished product. Roof looks great. Good follow-up to make sure we were happy with the work. Would highly recommend this contractor.

I had IWC install a Membrane roof over the old Tar & Gravel flat roof. Great roof, good price and makes the building a lot cooler since it is bright white. They were fast and cleaned up after themselves I bought a 4-Plex in Bountiful that needed a lot of work!! I started out with getting several bids for each repair / upgrade I needed to do: Vinyl Windows, Fascia & Soffit, Rain Gutters & Downspouts, new Roof. But for each of projects Gerald (IWC) met or beat the other bids - so I ended up hiring IWC to do all of the projects . I have had plenty of experiences (bad) with building contractors who cut every corner they could and leave me with as much work to clean up their mess and the damage left behind, as to have done the job myself. IWC is NOT that type of business. I started out choosing IWC for just the price alone; but after working with Gerald on several projects over a period of several months, I really came to enjoy working with him. I really came to respect his integrity and expect his good customer service. The best compliment I can give Gerald is that he is a man of his word. He is fair, honest, and he will make sure the job is done right - even if the sub-contractors have to come back multiple times to get it right (which was required for two of my projects). I have no hesitation in recommending IWC.

I have had plenty of experiences (bad) with building contractors who cut every corner they could (half-assed work) and leave me with as much work to clean up their mess and the damage left behind, as to have done the job myself. IWC is NOT that type of business. I started out choosing IWC for just the price alone; but after working with Gerald on several projects over a period of several months, I really came to respect his integrity and expect his good customer service. I really enjoyed working with him. The best compliment I can give Gerald is that he is a man of his word. He is fair, honest, and he will make sure the job is done right - even if the sub-contractors have to come back multiple times to get it right (which was required for two of my projects). While the category I listed above was Siding, I had them do Aluminum Fascia and Soffit on an all brick building I have no hesitation in recommending IWC.

The windows they installed were top of the line Alside vinyl windows, with excellent energy ratings. The price was great compared to my other bids. I have no hesitation in recommending IWC.

When Gerald came to give us a bid we were very impressed. He was friendly and seemed very honest. He provided all the necessary information (insurance, warranty options, licenses, etc.) before we even asked for them. We were grateful for his willingness to answer all of our questions and to allow us to tear our existing roof off ourselves in exchange for a great discount on the overall price. We had our bid, a date scheduled, and a new roof all within a couple of weeks! Our new roof looks great and we only had two minor complications. The shingles we had chosen originally were not available so we would have had to wait a few more weeks to get the new roof on. We chose a different color shingle instead, and we ended up loving it so it really ended up being a plus. The other issue was that they didn't include the cost of the dumpster in our bid so that was an extra $400 that we weren't expecting, but not the end of the world. Overall, we are very pleased with Gerald and his company. They did a great job, were very friendly and professional, and we did not have any significant difference in end price versus bid. The men who came to actually work on the roof were kind and courteous and worked so hard, they did a great job of cleaning up too! Gerald, the owner came to the house, and we went up to the roof together to look at what I wanted. He gave me a good quote of $5,700. A couple weeks later I was called by someone at IWC to set up a date for them to come do the work. I took the day off that day so I could watch the progress on the job. 6 men showed up at 7 AM on that morning, and worked hard throughout the day to get the job done by 6 PM. They cleaned up the job thoroughly afterward. A couple weeks after the work was completed, Gerald came again to the house to complete the financing paperwork. The plywood added about $2,000 to the cost of the roof. IWC did a great job, and the roof looks great. I have recommended them to my friends, and some of them will use their services in the near future.

They were a few days late arriving, but the weather, and some large jobs put them a few days behind. They arrived around 9:00 on Friday morning & had the roof completely reshingled, new vents, new ridgeline vents on both sections of the roof, and the yard completely cleaned up, by 7:00. We have a large roof with many angles. It looks great! The owner, Gerald, came by and checked the project during the process & made sure we were happy with the work. He returned the following day to make sure all was cleaned up and satisfactory. He even suggested his guys come back out and add another ridgeline vent over the garage to add more ventilation & provide a more consistent look on the roof lines. That will be added this week. He made sure his workers didn't attempt to use any facilities on the property, they didn't smoke, and they left the house & yard as clean as when they arrived. They followed all these directives & the place looked great when they left; not a piece of refuse to be found & no damage to the lawn. Gerald was also great about the payment. Many options: 60 days 0 interest, VISA, personal check. He worked patiently with us on payment. We would recommend Gerald and Intermountain West Construction to our friends and neighbors, in fact, we already have. Thanks Gerald for making this easier for us & giving us a beautiful new roof that will last us a very long time.

Gerald and his crew did a wonderful job. His price was very competitive and he was up front with his billing. The work was completed promptly . We did have a few issues with site clean-up, but Gerald was quick to have someone come and address our concerns.

The job of replacing the roof began early in the morning and was completed by that night. . The full crew worked hard through out a very hot day. Some of the crew returned the following morning to complete a thorough clean up, my mother was very pleased with that. They were pleasant, professional and willingly answered any questions we had. The owner Gerald was always available and easy to contact through the process. He also followed up with a phone call to make sure all went well and we were satisfied. I would recommend them!

We contacted several roofers from Angies List, all were A rated companies. We decided to go with Gerald with IWC. Gerald is the owner and came out to meet with us. He is very pleasant and professional. He returns your phone calls very quickly. His work team came on time. They all worked efficiently and fast. They were all very polite and cleaned up the yard after they were done. Gerald help us pick the color of our roof. And we love the color he chose for us. It looks very neat and beautiful. We have been approached by several neighbors on how nice it looks. I would recommend this company for your roofing job. Our roof looks great. We are very happy with it. The crew was fantastic. They were on time (even a little early) and went straight to work. They were thorough...all the products used were what I asked for and as contracted. They did a great job in clean-up. I'm just a homeowner...no contracting experience...but I felt I was dealt with fairly and professionally. I came away very happy and would recommend Gerald and his crew to anyone facing a roofing challenge.
