Received several estimates to have our roof done. Intermountain West Contractors was the first to respond. He gave us a quick fair estimate. After meeting with several roofing contractors we were most impressed with Intermountain West Contractors. They were able to start immediately on our roof. They showed up on time and were meticulous about the work and the clean up. Also keeping us notified about additional costs based on the needs of our roof and was willing to work with us regarding the additional costs. All and all we received excellent service and would highly recommend them to anyone with roofing replacement needs!

Gerald and his team did a great job on my re-roofing. From the start, Gerald gave me a well detailed estimate, explained all of the items for my project, answered all of my questions, and gave me a very fair price. His team, led by Rene, was on the job and finished in 1.5 days. The first day was removing the old roof, swamp cooler, prepping, and getting 80% of the new roof on. They installed the ice shield on the north edges and in the valleys and ridge vents instead of the old school turtle vents. The quality is excellent, and I am very pleased. They also did an excellent job cleaning up too using a magnet on wheels, and overall general cleaning! I would highly recommend this company! Just fair warning, it's noisy inside the house when they are nailing (kind of obvious) and they need to park a trash dumpster trailer in the driveway to dump the trash/old roof parts into. Oh, and one last tip, if you have stuff (i.e. nick-nacks) on your walls/shelves upstairs, you probably should move them so they don't fall off from all the banging (nothing damaged).

Gerald, the owner, and his crew were absolutely fantastic! I had a really bad leak which was causing a lot of headaches. I discussed with Gerald the problem and he came in person to check it out. He was very honest with his assessment! The job was made difficult due to weather, but he was so concerned with my roof that they were able to replace my entire roof and fix the problem within less than 20 hours. These guys are amazing. I am so impressed with how hard these guys worked. My leak was acting up bad in my living room and I needed to get that repaired ASAP to avoid further damage. I have really long hours at work, and I got home and noticed the roof was getting worse. I texted gerald to see if they could try and hurry up in order to avoid having multiple buckets in my living room. He returned my message at 10PM very concerned about the problem. We were able to schedule the job between storms. They were so punctual that my roof was ready perfectly within time to protect my house from the weather, mind you they did not have a lot of time. Also, they were great at communication. Gerald and his crew chief contacted me multiple times throughout the day to update me on the progress. Joe and Gerald gave me their cell phones and instructed me to call if there were any problems even if it was in the middle of the night. My yard and house were very clean afterwards. I have not seen a nail at all. I would not even notice that 3-4 layers of old roofing were torn out if it wasn't for my brand new awesome roof. Overall, I would highly recommend their service to anyone. Thank you IWC, I can sleep well now not worrying about my leak.

Gerald and I spoke many times before deciding to use his services. Working in accounting, I am always looking for the best value at a good price. IWC provided better value at a great price than what I had seen from other bids received. Work was completed in 2 days with a little additional touchup taking place this evening to adjust a few items I was concerned about. It now all looks wonderful. With the weather still cool and some rain in the air, it will be summer before things seal up completely; however, I know that any concerns we have will be handled in a timely manner should there be any. I have been very happy with the work and service provided. His team was very polite and courteous as my kids watched them work. I would definitely consider IWC for my future needs (although I hope it is a loooong time before we need more roof work). :-)

Typically we obtain bids from 3 contractors, research and ask many questions. However, we met with Gerald and recognized immediately that he was extremely knowledgeable and understood all of the different types of shingles, the proper shingling for a roof and provided a very competitive price. We agreed to the price, the contract clearly identified the work to be done AND the work was completed as promised within two weeks. The workmen were very efficient and completed the job in a day and a half. We are looking forward to improved cooling this summer with the Ridge Vent Shingling method. Simple, great service and an excellent experience.

Tear-off and replace old roof with 50-yr Arch Shingle. they were easy to work with the roof looks great and they cleaned up all the mess.

Gerald was very easy to work with, honest and forthright. He wanted to make sure that we got the best value for our money. I really appreciated his integrity by alerting me to product warranty issues, but ultimately leaving the decision up to me. My roof looks fantastic. I had one minor issue and it was resolved immediately. Even after telling him how pleased I was with the work, he wouldn't accept payment until he had inspected the job and ensure he too was pleased with the work. I would recommend them to anyone. !I didn't like dealing with them at all will not use them in the future. I feel they tried to be dishonest with me. when confronted with the Angie's list coupon they had to recant. I already wrote a complaint details are in it. I feel they threatened me if i gave them a bad review, they said the would 'report' me?? They tore off a recent job I had done to repair and replace my skylight that I was very happy with. I had pointed this out to the supposed owner. Well his guys stripped my roof down to the wood and removed all this and then it pored rain and guess what?? My skylight leaked.! The owner was a jerk and his workers didn't speak decent English so the whole thing was a difficult mess and they actually blamed me and told me I was out of line for getting upset with them. I thought they were complete jerks.

He no-shows. I call him and he explained his reason was that I never called him back to confirm, as I guess he has had problems with missed appointments. But...he never called me (the customer) to confirm it either. As I told him, business must be good. I wasn't particularly happy with his excuse but I gave him the benefit and set up another (firm) appointment for the following week. And wouldn't you know it, he no-shows a second time! Obviously upset I call him and he hurries me off the phone saying he will get right back with me. A few minutes later a different guy calls back me explaining that it was his appointment and he'd had a long, difficult day and totally spaced it out. Again, no one called to either say they were running late or to reschedule. Two no-shows...shame on you. FYI, my wife took time from her busy schedule (hospice nurse) to be there both times and she was very unhappy, especially the second time. I know this place had great reviews so obviously somebody likes them, but my experience was a dismal failure. My feeling is that he (and others on Angies list) get great reviews, their business spikes and they aren't prepared to handle it. I've had others with similar reviews turn me down. And that's fine, I would rather someone do that than waste my time like he did.

This is exactly what you want to find in a contractor. When he couldn't give me exactly what I needed, at a price point I needed, he gave me great guidance on my project and directed me to others who could better suit my needs -- even when it cost him work. It's great to run across honest, professional, and talented people in this industry. I plan to reach out again to Intermountain for future work.

IWC started on the project as soon as I hired them! They were fantastic. There was some leakage due to ice buildup. They diagnosed the problem immediately and went straight to work. I felt they were honest and straight forward. Didn't try to upsell me. I'm in real estate and will definitely be recommending them!!

OUTSTANDING!!!! We are in the process of a kitchen remodel and when I got off work one evening I noticed a bubble on a wall in the kitchen that had just been freshly painted a few days prior. I poked at the bubble and water ran out. I then noticed a couple other spots where it seemed that water was leaking in from the roof. I called IWC the next morning and they sent a couple guys out to inspect the roof that same afternoon. These gentlemen climbed up on the roof even though it was covered with ice and snow and scraped it all off then they took the time to show and explain to me what was causing the leaks. I apparently did not have any ventilation in the roof and the snow and ice buildup along with the rain was causing the water to push back up the roof under the shingles. They returned the next day and removed ALL the old roofing and replaced it with new material and added venting. I also had some siding that had become loose from the wind that was not included in the bid, but they remounted it for me anyways without any additional charge. They did all this in one day and may I add in 30 degree weather. I could go on and on about how impressed I was with IWC, but the prompt, courteous, and professional service provided by Gerald the owner and his entire crew is above reproach. If you need a new roof or just a repair then look no further then IWC!!!

Gerald and his crew were great. He gave us a fair price, great quality and we couldn't be happier. They came on time, finished when they said they would and cleaned everything up. Gerald and his team is very professional. Came and gave me a competitive quote. Started the job very promptly. Finished the job in less than two days. There were a few things that came up (like replacing the plywood) and he didn't charge me any extra than his original quote. They left the job very clean and after the snow melted they came back and did another round of cleanup. I would highly recommend using them on any roofing job.

I contacted several companies for estimates. Gerald responded right away saying he would get an estimate to me, as did several others. I didn't get anything from anyone until I contacted them again. Gerald said he had sent me something but hadn't heard back so he figured we went with someone else. When I said I hadn't received anything he apologized and resent within minutes. The bid was one of the higher ones, but Intermountain was having an Angie's deal which made them competitive. They were able to come out within the week and had the job done in a day ahead of a bad storm. It took a while for them to clean up, and our new tenants were finding roofing nails and rubbish when they moved in a few days later, but I think that is mostly due to the storm. Gerald has promised they will come back and do a magnet sweep when the snow melts, and I will be sure to follow up with an additional review after that. The main problem was with the rain gutter. It had been knocked loose by the roofers, and had not been repaired before the storm hit. The ice and snow filled the gap, and became a problem. Gerald kept promising that it would be repaired, but the ice was making that difficult. My tenants said they never saw anyone come and try to reattach it, but they also said they were gone at work most of the day. When we were there at Christmas time to prepare for another tenant, we were able to repair it ourselves. I don't know if anyone from Intermountain had come and tried to do anything in the weeks before. My husband and I were there when the crew was doing the roof. They were very professional, and communicated very well with us. They let us know when there was anything out of the ordinary, and worked with us in covering over duct work and dealing with old skylights, as well as dealing with damage from a leaky swamp cooler. They kept working even with the cold wind of the oncoming storm whipping everything around, and kept working with lights even after dark to make sure the roof was done before bad weather hit. We were pleased with their hard work. From what we could tell by seeing it that day, the work was very well done. It has been covered with snow since then. We would use Intermountain again.

We are new home owners and while we needed a new roof quickly we also wanted to make sure we balanced high quality for a fair price. We took our time shopping around and in the end we were convinced IWC was the best match of quality and price. We held IWC to their price guarantee and they actually used a higher quality product than the competitor would have for the same work. Our roof is roughly 33 squares and the previous shingles were 23 years old. The old shingles were stapled to the roof which made clean up tedious. Gerald's team made sure our yard was clean and clear before we let our dogs back outside. The whole experience took roughly two and a half days and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend IWC to anyone in the future.

I found IWC on Angies List and requested a window quote. Their price to replace 16 windows was very competitive, so I opted to use them for the job. It took about 4 days after signing the quote to get the detailed measurements taken, and after that it took about 3 weeks for the windows to arrive. James did the installation shortly thereafter and his work was pretty good. A few minor mistakes were made, but James was quick to come out and make things right. Overall I am very pleased with the Alside windows, the installation, and the overall experience. Another positive comment -- unlike many other construction companies that always seem to ask for money, I was only asked for a small deposit up front,. I was never asked to pay for the rest of the job until after the installation was done and completed to my satisfaction. This is a great way to do business.

We had two bids on this job, one from IWC and one from Aspen Roofing. The folks from Aspen visited my home while I was at work and left a bid at the door. While the pamphlets were very professional, I was never contacted by a person. Gerald, the owner if IWC, was incredibly persistent about getting this job. It took my wife and I awhile to decide on the color, and Gerald provided addresses of customers for all the shingles we were interested in. We finally decided and scheduled the job in early December. Gerald said he would bring in a large crew and get the job done in two days. The crew worked incredibly hard in freezing temperatures and got the job done in just a little over two days, due to some extra work that was needed on the roofing planks. It snowed the morning of the 3rd day so it's hard to evaluate the job, but I've been in the attic and there are no leaks. The crew did a great job of cleaning up the site and will return in the spring for a final cleaning and finishing touches. Gerald and his crew are top notch and I am convinced he will do whatever it takes to make the customer satisfied.

The IWC crew did a marvelous job of installing new shingles over the existing roof that was 18 years old. As promised, they took one day to do the job and cleaned up all of their mess before leaving the premises. |Gerald Sommer and his crew were attentive to our questions, suggestions and they were punctual in returning phone call messages and answering our questions. We are very happy with the results.

My brother and I operate a business out of a bungalow house built over 100 years ago. The roof has been deteriorating and was in clear need of a do-over before winter came. I reached out to Gerald on Friday 11/22. Although I got his voice mail, he returned the call very quickly. We scheduled an appointment for a bid on Monday the 25th which I had to cancel last minute. Gerald was fine with that and we rescheduled for the next morning. After the bid we agreed to give the job to IWC and asked when they would start. As that was the week of Thanksgiving, he said he would start the following week, the only deciding factor as to which day was the weather. As it went, they decided to start on Monday, 12/2, ahead of the first major winter storm. There was a large IWC crew on site early in the morning and they flew through the job getting the old shingles off, the roof re-sheeted and dried-in all before the snow came that afternoon. Most of the roof was shingled, in the snow, before they left Monday night. The job was completed quickly on Tuesday, in heavier snow. The cost of the roof ended up being a bit more than I had anticipated, however Gerald and IWC were unbelievably quick and the roof was done and ready for winter before the first major storm of the season making it very much worth it. The final job is great and Gerald and his people were very courteous and on it the whole time. I will recommend them to anyone needing contracting work, and likely use them myself in the future.

We recently used Intermountain West Contractors to shingle the roof of our home and the detached garage. Gerald responded promptly to the request for a bid and showed up when he said he would be here. The bid was very competitive, ie less that any competitive bid, with a better 50 year shingle warranty. Workman arrived sooner than expected. The workman worked very hard and were careful to minimize damage to the landscape. They removed the original shingles and replaced the plywood boards as needed (extra charge as outlined in the contract). Shingle vent ridge vents were installed. While the workman were here Gerald contacted me every day to make sure that "I was happy" and to confirm things were going well. When completed they did a nice job cleaning up the site and hauling away all debris. The company offers a great 0% interest rate on a loan if needed through Wells Fargo. Great price. Excellent service. Highly recommended.

We are very pleased with our windows and sliding door. Our house seems warmer and no more drafts. The timing was perfect, right before a big major snow storm. We had many bids from other companies and theirs was the best. Gerald is a great guy to work with. He was not high pressuring like many of the big companies were. They were very efficient and did the work quickly and everything was completely cleaned up. I would highly recommend this company to my friends. They also did our roof 1 month ago which we were also very pleased with. Gerald's company does a variety of different jobs for homeowners.
