The plumber was courteous. The work he did solved the problem.

Both units needed the hot water heaters drained due to City of Plano improvements of the water supply system. The 1801 unit flushed out a great deal of sand and sediment.......the 1803 not very much. The technician, Dustin, arrived on time and performed extremely well. He offered a $99 special that included a thorough inspection and fix of numerous items. He was gracious enough to install an owner provided flapper and toilet fill valve in the 1803 master bathroom. I was very pleased with his knowledge and professionalism. In the past 40 years, I have dealt with numerous plumbers and Dustin is one of the best.

The plumber arrived on time. Clearly understood what needed to be done and suggested replacing the valve rather than trying to repair. The valve replacement was done within 45 minutes and all went well. I was told the other toilets were OK and didn't need repair. Unfortunately, since that time both toilets have been experiencing problems with the flappers sticking in the open position. It's not a big deal, but it is annoying. Based on the pricing on the day of my valve replacement I will not be calling this company back. I realize that professional p[lumbers should be paid for their services, but I supposed was paying $39 for $100 worth of plumbing work and even with this "discount", the valve replacement that took less than an hour still ran up a bill of almost $200 out of pocket. That was sticker shock to the extreme. It may be possible I failed to understand something about the pricing of this job since plumbing is not my area of expertise, but in my past experience with plumbers this was way more than I ever expected to be charged.

Spoke with Harvey regarding a quote for the work I needed done. Set an appointment time. They called the day before the scheduled appointment to confirm. The tech showed up at the appointed time. Very professional. (Even wore shoe covers to ensure carpets would not be soiled from his visit.) Quickly and efficiently completed the work and was able to answer other, small questions I had. Would absolutely use them again.

Contacted Harvey West Plumbing after reading reviews here on Angie's List. They were very prompt to set up the inspection of what I have now to give me an accurate quote. Price was competitive (better than another major competitor on the List that I also called) and I decided to go for it. On the day of the service, they showed up on time and were done in less than two hours. I got a "tour" of my new water heater as a part of it. They left the garage clean, my receipt was in my email and all is well. Would definitely recommend them!

Professional Prompt Efficient

It went great. I signed up for an Angieslist Big Deal that West Plumbing offered and had them come out and look at shower fixture that apparently had been leaking in the past and damaged the plasterboard. Dustin and John showed up right on time. After looking at the fixture it was decided that it would be best to replace it. They cost was going to be in the $800 range which seemed a little steep for me. Dustin discussed the matter with the someone at the office and came back with the option to repair it. Although 30+ years old, it was a very good fixture and in fact one of the better ones made in its time, and even still a good fixture. Cost would be $302.50 including a $100 credit for my Big Deal offer. I authorized the repair and the guys got after it after going and getting the parts.

The problem reoccurred less than 30 days after the work was completed. The company sent someone back out to reassess the work (at no additional charge -- free warranty on the initial service) and determined a tree root had breached the line on the city's side. Another call to 311 was made with additional explanation. There was no charge for this visit and the issue has not reoccurred. The folks who did the work were polite and worked cleanly.

The overall visit went well. They were on time and performed what was needed. Aside from the flush and few other adjustments not sure what else they did. They also provided some quotes on new water heaters (based on my asking).

The company is very professional and came out when scheduled. The price quote was exorbant for the task and was more than was quoted by other plumbers. I went ahead and paid for the service because it would have been too much of a hassle to pay the consultation fee and then reschedule with another plumber to come out and install the faucet. (In addition, it is hard to go with out a faucet in the bathroom so we needed the faucet installed as quickly as possible.)

Company representative was punctual and courteous. The estimate was completed in 15 minutes and work began. The work was to rebuild the inner workings of a toilet and replace the water control valve at the bottom of the toilet. Work was done quickly and was completed within the estimated time frame. The new water level was set so that we would use less water with every flush. I would definitely call on this company again when I need plumbing services.

I called them the about 10am the day after Christmas; the day after the "winter storm" which brought us Ice and snow. They had a tech available between 2 and 4 that afternoon. The tech was at my house at 1:50. The guy was very nice and even went and helped us install the logs on my new gas fireplace logs (even though he didn't have to).

Worker was nice enough and quite competent. My only complaint is that he did not have several necessary parts on his truck, so I had to run up to Home Depot and buy parts while he remained at my home to prep the repair location. It wasn't a huge deal, but it did cause a bit of disappointment and anxiety (hoping and guessing that I was buying the correct things). Overall, the experience was good and we were extremely happy with their ability to get someone out so quickly. The plumber did a seemingly great job with the repair. It was expensive, so the necessity of having to leave him at the house to go purchase parts was disappointing..

The service men were on time and they explained exactly what they would be doing. They installed the hot water heaters, took the old ones away and left the with no mess or issues. The work was excellent.

Although the issue was not a plumbing issue I was impressed by the prompt response and the professionalism of this company and the technician.

Very professional. Friendly. Went to Lowe's to find drain parts that matched the look and feel of our sink.

We didn't particularly like those guys. As far as punctuality and stuff, I imagine they did okay. I do remember that they hooked it up to drain it into the tub. The heater was upstairs and they never told me that there was going to be any filth and stuff and we don't go upstairs that much. I was surprised to find about an inch layer of sandy filthy stuff in my bathtub. They didn't clean it out and they didn't tell me to do it either. Had they said that I need to go and see about that but they didn't say anything to us about it. We think they may have left the valve not completely closed because later, that hot water heater's valve was leaking and now we have some damage on our trim around the door of the downstairs underneath that water heater. I would not recommend them. They did clean it out. Basically, we ended up having to replace that water heater anyway.

Misdiagnosed problem initially. Came back and got it right.

I frantically called plumbers looking for estimates for an active and scary leak in our hall bathroom. Harvey West was the second plumber to come for an estimate. Thankfully he came by within 2 hours of my phone call. He was quick to get right into the crawl space and was able to diagnose the problem accurately. Unfortunately he would not be available to perform the repair the same day so we had to look elsewhere. He usually does renovation plumbing and had a previous job scheduled. I would definately call him again for plumbing and reno work in the future.

We have a chronic drainage problem in our back utility room/vanity area that requires a snake at least a couple of times a year because it's right next to two huge ball cypress trees that have detected the water there. The house is 40 years old and uses the old cast iron pipes that are fitted together and just packed in to close them up. The plumber came out on Friday but couldn't get the snake past a certain point so they came back out on Monday with a camera to inspect the pipe. They said they found the blockage approximately 18 feet in and showed my wife where in the house the problem was. However, they never showed her any pictures and we never received any written documentation other than the estimate on how much the repair cost would be. Based on the verbal explanation of the repair, I'm not upset about the quote but I would have liked to have gotten a little more formal documentation on the discovery of the problem. As it stands now, if I were to request quotes from other plumbers (which I have), they will not take my word for the problem and are going to charge me for another camera run. So, I'm going to have to go rent a camera to confirm what was seen (approximately $150 rental) and probably go ahead and spend another $100 on renting a heavy duty 3/4 sewer snake with a saw tooth blade to see if I can cut through the blockage that I suspect is the problem and not an actual collapsed pipe.

John from Harvey West, was excellent, he is very knowledgable on multi fauceted showers and he replaced a cartridge and fixed the water temperature guage so it can be used again. The original plumber who installed it did not have a clue and John was not only super professional but extremely knowledgable in how to fix multi controlled fixtures on one temperature control unit.i would use Harvey West Plumbing for all my plumbing needs. GREAT JOB!!
