Harvey West Plumbing

I feel like the price was very high. A person should not just use a provider just because they are highly rated, but you should get estimates. I feel like what was installed were average products, but that it was so expensive to have them installed. The service was prompt, the quality of work was good, but the cost was high.

The plumber came on the same day that I called for service. I purchased a $20.00 deal towards $100.00 of service from one of Angie's list "big deal" promotions, and that was all I was charged for the removal of the device from the water heater. The plumber was courteous, neat and professional. Yes, I would use Harvey West Plumbing for any future plumbing jobs. Also, I was given a $25.00 gift card toward my next service call.

We did not use Harvey plumbing for their recommended services due to their high fees. They asked for $1091 to replace a toilet, and do a main sewer line clean out with camera line locate. We ended up going with another company for the same services. We paid a total of $388 plus tax for the exact same recommended services.

Was very open and honest and recommended no action.

It went very well with Harvey West Plumbing. They're very flexible with a few time shifts that we had requested. They always were accommodating to our schedule and were good in notifying, they were going to call my wife and I before if they were going to show up so we knew exactly when they'd be there despite the window that we were given so that was always really convenient. The plumber that came here jsut provided excellent explanation of things. He even pulled up a little article and he had an explanation for the white-water and certain other conditions are there so we have something that we can send to our tenants since it's a rental house that my wife and I own. I could not be more pleased. We definitely will use them again.

They did a great job. They replaced only what was needed. Did not try to scam us into spending more. Worked fast and efficiently. We were very happy with their service.

We paid for an upgraded service with company and visit was at no cost due to problem was resolved before plumber got to house.

Awesome...I already wrote a review, but I forgot to add how awesome their follow up is. They sent a thank you note with gift cards for any future plumbing services, and to share with a family or friend. They even sent a Christmas card. Now that is customer service!

They did a fine job. I expected that I will pay more than the deal. They had to come back again later with an extra person to do it properly. It was a leak just above the slab, they thought it might be in the slab. They were very honest. I wouldn't necessarily say that they were cheap where they did not do anything extra. I think the ratings that they have Angie's List is very appropriate. They are not overly expensive but they're not cheap. They actually sent me a coupon for 25$ off and referral coupon for anyone else. I'm going to use them again because I need some other work to be done.

My experience with them went well except they overlooked at one thing that I was curious about. They overlooked the fact that the drain was not connected to pipe which leads out to the foundation. In other words, if it had started leaking it would have not gone to the pipe and that thing should have been important to check, although it may had looked like it was already hooked up but it wasn't screwed in. I made an assumption that it was hooked up but I felt that they should have checked it. I felt comfortable with the representatives that came out and they were courteous, and I feel comfortable doing business with them. They were easy to talk to because I there asking questions and they were offering information.

It turned out well. He was punctual. He made sure everything was taken care of because he fixed the outside plumbing. He was prudent and professional.

Company came out and replaced water heater then came back the next week to do additional plumbing work. Was disappointed that they did not set the temp correctly on water heater and we had to get them back out to raise the temperature so we could allow more than one family member to bathe. I would also like to see receipts that show service and product breakdown on all service. Seemed a bit high but not sure cost of materials.

I was very pleased with the serive. They took all the time needed and made sure everything was clean when they were done. They were about an hour late but I was called ahead of time and made aware they were running behind and then they called when they were on their way. I did feel some of the services were a little over priced. Dustin was very friendly and polite.

I have a leak from the water heater. The provider was very quick to respond. They showed up in 2 hours of the call. Fast and good.

It was good. They were on time and had a good price. It was very nice.

They came out within a couple of days of my call. It was a simple task of installing a faucet and toilet in a new bathroom. They charged me $500; I used them because I was in need but I felt it was kind of a rip off.

The work was done quickly and professionally - it was a bit pricey though. I would use them again - but I would negotiate harder for a bargain - or do it myself.

We had two very small leaks under the kitchen sink. He couldn’t find any leaks being in existence. He didn’t find nor fix the leaks, but the next day it was still leaking. It would have been a good deal if he could have fixed the leaks. He also gave us an estimate for installing cut out valves on a bathtub and installing a new toilet with removal of the old toilet, but I felt it was very high. Overall, he was on time, neat, and clean though.

Tony was very professional and informative. Did an excellent job and was gone in less than an hour. It was irritating, however, that I was offered the 830 AM appointment and he showed up at 940 AM. It was my day off and this really messed up what I had planned for my morning.

There were additional fees with the service. Overall, it was good. They came out the same day I called. They showed up on time and did what they needed to do. They were clean.

The service turned out alright. It was but average. They offered a job for $100. I wind up paying $400 for the job. They took $100 off the tab, but it was still $300 and not a very good job just to work on a faucet.

Dustin and Brandon ran numerous tests to find leak but were unable to do so. Finally they cut a small hole in the upstairs hamper which gave them a view of the tub plumbing and the pipes leading downstairs. (They didn't cut until all other means were exhausted and it was clearly explained to me in advance). It turned out there was no leak just noisy pipes in a 20 year old house. I believe another plumber would have cut a hole in my living room and started the search there. Their way was easy to repair and out of sight. Professional and thorough.

Everything went great. Will use them again.

**Update 1/27/14** The plumber contacted us and apologized for not being more clear with the explanation of all charges. He also promised that a portion of the charge for the 1 year discounts and priority service would be refunded but we would keep the benefit. A very much appreciated and professional gesture that will increase the chance we use Harvey West again in the future. *Original Post* The initial contact, scheduling and availability was great from this company. The quality of the work so far (2 days later) seems very good and everything is working as it should with no leaks. Our only complaint so far is the high price of the service and the lack of up front disclosure of what the pricing would include. The coupon I purchased from AL was $20 for $100 worth of service. I was not told that there was a $99 fee which would be added on top of the labor and materials when scehduling the appointment. The fee is described as follows on the invoice which we had to approve before the work was done. So basically the AL coupon was nullified by this charge. PLUMBING INSPECTION, WATER HEATER CHECK, DISCOUNT RATE ON ALL REPAIRS FOR 1 YEAR, PRIORITY SERVICE, MINOR ADJUSTMENTS, ALL TRIP CHARGES The work itself took less than 2 hours and cost $280 for labor and materials. (not sure if this included the time he had to leave to get the right sized part or not) Being a new first time home owners we are not sure of the normal plumbing rate but what I find in researching suggests that it could be a bit high. There is a chance I use this company again in the future but plan to try another plumber or two first to get a better idea about pricing and quality.

He was awesome. I had a water hydrant up front that wouldn't turn off and I had called the city and they turned off my water. I called them and they were able to come that afternoon and do it for me. I liked them because I had another need and they came back and they fixed it for me readily. They gave me a special for $99 for the year so they could come back anytime without having to pay service call, you just have to pay for parts. I had a bathroom remodeled the person didn't finish it up right so I called them back and I spent $230 with them to get that fixed and they did a great job on it. I had the same plumber each time and he is so personable and helpful and I really appreciate that. I had no problem whatsoever with the "Big Deal" coupon. In fact, the plumber even told me that he had $100 worth of that so he applied that towards for the year, so actually for that $20, I got offered a year. I was all for that.
