Purchased a $20.00 coupon for $100 worth of plumbing work. The company came out, but were very expensive hourly and tripcharge-wise, so we just had them do some simple quick plumbing things -- unclogging drains, or fixing commode.......

Service call went well. Took the opportunity to sign up for the preferred customer package that saved a couple of bucks. Bib was replaced and the plumber completed a brief survey of the hot water heater and other common issues at my request. Several months later, bib is still working as expected, no leaks.

I really never dealt with the man. I do know that he had to come back 2 times because of inspection rhythm but everything was fine. We did not have any problem dealing with them. It was just a good experience. They tried to get my husband to reply and fill out the form. We did not have anything we did not expect. We used the deal and he corrected everything. There was not any problem having them come out and fix everything. That was a good experience and I would probably refer him.

I had done this previously and didn't realize that this could only be done once per customer per service provider. Since I've used this company before, I've decided to use them again. They are giving me a $59.00 coupon to help with the cost. Everything is good.

I had a kitchen sink that was draining slowly. This happens from time to time because of my old cast iron sewage pipes and that branch of the house needs to be snaked out about every two years. There is a clean-out on the exterior wall right by the sink. This type of basic drain clearing from ground level would normally cost about $99 from any plumbing service any day of the week. We bought the coupon for "$20 for $100 worth of plumbing work" thinking that $100 should cover the snake job and we should be good to go. The plumber showed up within the scheduled time window. I told him what I needed done and he quoted me $240 to snake the clean-out. I told him that price was beyond ridiculous, told him to leave and said I wanted my $20 back. The plumber called his boss for direction. He then informed me that we could have our $20 back, but we would have to pay $49 for a trip charge since they came out and didn't do anything. I told him I wasn't going to pay him anything for wasting my time and to get out of my house, so he did. Luckily, Angie's list worked with me and I got a refund of the $20 coupon. I must say that the guy that showed up was very nice and apologetic. I could tell that he knew the price was high and felt bad, but his boss wouldn't back off the price. Companies like this try to get in the door and take advantage of people that don't know any better and should NOT be allowed on Angie's list !!! (Just an FYI to readers, if they have to clear a drain line through a clean-out on your roof, it will cost you more than $100)

Enrolled me in a year protection plan for no service call fee. All I paid was the $20 angieslist promo fee. Plumber was professional, thorough, explained everything. Thoroughly satisfied. Will use again.

He did a good job. An awesome job really. He did a really good job, nice clean job. The price is a little bit high. The quality is good really. The work is very nice. He did a good job on that. I like his work really. I like the guy.

Dustin showed up on time and was extremely professional in his work. I wish the prices were just a little lower but no complaints about the quality of service. We had a couple of faucets replaced and a flush system repaired. They also performed a full house plumbing inspection. I will definitely leverage their services again.

They did as promised and they responded quickly. I was surprised at the cost even after using the coupon. It was all good. They did what they said they were going to do. They didn't take a whole lot of time doing it. They cleaned up after themselves. I was satisfied with the work they did. I'm not sure I would use them again, I might try a different plumber to see if the price was more in line with what I thought the work was worth.

I had a leaking faucet, he came out within a day or two and installed a new one that I had already purchased. He also said the valves needed to be changed so he replaced those as well. The service turned out to be more expensive than I expected considering I had provided the faucet but they did a good job. The technician was professional, knowledgeable and cleaned up well.

We had a different plumber come out before calling Harvey West and they were not able to figure the issue out and just turned our water heater all the way up (terrible "fix"). I called Harvey West and they knew immediately what it was but still came out to test to be sure there were no other possible issues. I felt very confident in their knowledge and work. They replaced the leaking valve and fixures in the shower that were the culpret and we haven't had any issues since. If we need anything in the future, they will be the first place we call!

They were responsive. The installation went fine.

Plumber did a great job in talking through the situation with me. The $20 I spent on them was well worth it for his expertise. We haven't had the problem reoccur since I followed his suggestions!

Had the old washer and dryer picked up day before the new were to be installed. When the technician removed the hose for the hot water, the water would not shut off all the way. Started running hot water in the tub to try and empty the hot water heater. This helped with the leak (less pressure) but I didn't want to continue to run water. set up a drain hose to a large bucket and called my husband. He called about three different plumbers and no answers. I looked up Angie's List and saw this special. Called Harvey West - spoke with Brandon, told him I needed a plumber today if possible and he had one available between 12-2. I agreed, bought the special and Jeff showed up at noon. I showed him the leaking valve and he went to work. He had the work completed quickly and even cleaned up some of the water left on the floor. We talked about tankless water heaters (we've been thinking about going that route) Jess suggested a recycler - since we don't have a houseful of people and gave a quote to do the work. Jeff was in and out of here in about an hour. Very pleasant experience and reasonable with the coupon.

After I purchased the Big Deal, I spoke to one of their customer service representatives to book an appointment and asked about pricing. She said they don't charge an hourly rate, they use a flat rate system based on what the customer requests the plumber to do. This was my first mistake, not asking up front what they charge for a specific plumbing task. On the scheduled date, the plumber showed up on time. Like most plumbing companies in DFW, they charge a trip charge and theirs was $39. I walked him through the 3 routine items that I needed him to complete. The plumber then told me that they charge a flat price for each service. The flat rate was a fixed rate they quoted without even looking at the 3 items. The price for the faucet was $298.30, the price for the comode was $272.60 and the price for the valves was $304.40. They offered a $99 home plumbing agreement that resulted in a 10% reduction. However the total bill, including the $100 off and the 10% reduction, was almost $800. I asked him how long he thought it would take. I said these were fairly routine items and I thought it would take 2 - 3 hours to do all tasks. Since this was a rental house, I could not afford to pay the trip charge and then have to spend time more time away from work getting another plumber out there as the tenant needed these items fixed. The total time that the plumber spent on the 3 items was approximately 2 hours. The fixed price did include materials, which I would estimate cost $50 or so. Thus if you deduct the $50 in supplies and the $40 trip charge from the total bill of approximately $800, this ended being about $350 an hour. The plumber did a nice job, courteous and professional but I have used other plumbers that I have been very happy with. I inquired of one of those plumbers and their trip charge is $50 and they charge $160 for the first hour and then it is $40 for every quarter hour increment thereafter. So if you estimate that the other plumbing company would have spent 2.5 hours on the three items, that would equate to $400, and then you add in the $50 trip charge and $50 in supplies, you arrive at a $500 bill, $300 less than what I paid!! I tried to save some money by using an Angie's Big Deal, and I think it ended up costing me $200 - $300. I broke my own unwritten rule, if you have a good service provider stick with them because most times deals aren't really worth it!! Chalk it up as another life lesson!

He first tried to use a snake, then had to bring in a more substantial device to remove the clog. When done, he cleaned the bathroom and provided detailed information on the cause and how to avoid it in the future.

Dustin was very professional and courteous. he explained the overall things including gas lines, options for water filtration, cleaning the drains and fixing minor leaks. the company had no-paper policy and everything was over tablet.

They installed two heaters for us. Their service was great. We will use them for any plumbing needs in the future!

They replaced a section of pipe under the kitchen sink. I had installed a piece of the pipe upside down which was causing the issue. They replaced the strainer free of charge. The guy was honest and on time. He did not try to sell me anything I did not need. He also left me a coupon for a discount on my next service. Scheduling was very easy. I would recommend this company without hesitation.

They do quality work, but their pricing gets a little tricky. They sneak things in there that you didn't understand,or you don't ask for. Twice I have had to made a correction, and they have made the correction, but I don't like the idea to really watch the bill really carefully to make sure there are things in there that don't belong. I haven't had any problems with the water heater. I would advise them to be more upfront about all the little charges that they end up putting in your bill that you didn't know about. They are very responsive. They have been out 3 times.
