Harvey West Plumbing

Really bad experience... was told my company that it cost $60 to get an evaluation and quote for the repair. They arrived at my home, talked with my wife, had her sign a work order and now it's $300 to find out the real cause, plus they are now selling a service plan. We paid the $300, they found a broken sprinkler pipe and wanted another $300 to fix this. I asked them to stop work... I then fixed the sprinkler pipe and it still leaked. (believe, not sure they may have damaged the sprinkler pipe while digging). Anyway, it appears they missed the "real" source of the leak.

The company does not service my area. They are very restrictive on where they cover in Dallas.

My appointment was scheduled between 2 and 4 pm, but the plumber did not arrive until 5 pm due to some unexpected staff illness. Kathy, the dispatcher, apologized several times, but I told her it was no problem. Dustin arrived about 5 pm. He was very pleasant wore shoe coverings to keep our floor clean and went right to work. Almost immediately he discovered a crack in our food waste disposer. He explained my options: two different disposers he had on his truck. I chose the same size we had before. Before long he installed it and took away the old one. He covered the floor with a thick cloth to keep our floor clean. I also purchased a bacterial treatment to keep our new equipment and our drains more free of bacterial growth. I was very happy with all aspects of Dustin's work and intend to do all my plumbing business with West Plumbing in the future. So, I also purchased a plumbing service agreement, which resulted in a 10% discount.

The plumbers showed up on time and ready to work. We had them replace three toilets with units we had previously purchased. Since the new ones were one-piece, we preferred that a professional handle the job. One toilet had a problem with the flange, but was rectified without replacement, even though it meant a trip to the hardware store for them. This saved us quite a bit of money. We also had them replace some old water shut off valves (kitchen sink and dishwasher). They were mindful of how much time the water main was shut off, and limited it by coordinating the various tasks. They removed all trash and debris and cleaned up the spaces that they had been in. We were very pleased with the job that was performed and would have no qualms about using their services again.

Very well. The new stove top was a higher end model and came with a large regulator. The technicians, Dustin and Chase, worked diligently to make sure it not only worked properly, but fit snugly in place - even with the over-sized (but required) regulator. It took a few twists and turns but they did a great job, were pleasant to work with and explained every detail. Last point - I purchased an AL deal to use this company and feel that the price I paid was well worth the value!

Everything went great. Jack was very responsive and punctual. The work was completed in about an hour and a half. He even gave me some tips about the best place to shutoff the water in our new house to avoid any leaks due to the age of the home.

They were very responsive. They did not fix the problem but they realized it's more than what we thought it was. They've been back numerous times and I don't blame them. I think it has something to do with our plumbing. They really have tried hard and been very responsive. They took a lot of time in our house than they have anticipated. I wasn't here when they came but my wife was here and she said they were very courteous and always responded. They've been back numerous times but did not charge us.

Bought the $20 for $100 worth of service deal. Found out there was no issues with my sink disposer or the leak under the vanity. They made sure everything is in order and offered me some discounts to be used in the future.

They did a good job. There was a problem with the installation of my plumbing when my house was built, but he very effectively worked around it.

A routine shower valve cartridge replacement (performed by me) got ugly when a pipe in the wall cracked. I called Harvey West, and they dispatched their after-hours team. The plumbers arrived promptly. They opened a large hole in the tiled wall to access the pipes, remove the old valve body, and cap off the copper pipe. The work was performed well. My only hesitation about recommending this company is the price. I understand the $130 charge for an after-hours call, but have a really hard time justifying the remaining $370 for 45 minutes of work make a hole and cap off two copper pipes. Furthermore, their quote to replace the valve body was a whopping $830 assuming I provided the new parts. This did not include any repairs to the wall or the tiles, just the plumbing inside. Needless to say I did not take advantage of that offer, instead taking two hours to install it myself. I appreciate their promptness and the work they did on the one visit, but I will probably not be using them again.

He gave us an estimate, up front, accurate. Service man was professional and fixed the problem. The scheduling process was super easy and responsive to our needs. They offered earlier service but instead met our specific schedule needs! A good job. Pricey, probably in line with industry we just have no real no comparison. Bottom line: job done, professional and competent.

It was good. My wife was there when they did it and she said they were very helpful.

I initially bought this deal because I had a slow draining sink in the bathroom. Before the technician arrived I had fixed the sink by pulling a wire and removing junk from the sink. When the technician arrived, the sink was draining normal, so he didn't performed any plumbing service. I was in a hurry to get back to work, so I assumed that the plumbing work can be done in the near future should I suddenly encounter more problems with plumbing. Well, I just learned today that Harvey West won't do any plumbing work under the deal I bought from Angie's list because the technician last month came in to my house, so that's still a service charge. So the Big Deal from them has already been used. What upsets me the most is that when the technician arrived, he didn't said straightforward that they will have me sign up for a Service Agreement . I wasn't asked, "would you like to sign up for the Service Agreement?" I thought that when I told him that at the moment I'm not interested that he did not go forward for the service agreement. There was a miscommunication issue. If you buy a Big deal from this service provider, PLEASE BE AWARE that they will deceptively sign you up for a service agreement Personally, I don't like to do service agreements. Should I have mechanical breakdowns in the near future, I'll make use of other companies that I feel more comfortable with.

Immediately it seemed like they were trying to sell me more to regain the price of the deal. I didn't like the way they advertised. They completed the work and did a fine job. I just don't really like that approach. I would prefer a plumber that shows up and does the job. He was a competent plumber.

Good, and everything works well. But I felt like I paid too much.

I purchased a coupon for $100 in services. I needed a toilet reset and had received other estimates in the $150 range. When Harvey West called the first thing they said is there would be a $39 service charge, then they said it would cost about $250 to reset the toilet. So I was looking at $20 to Angies List plus $290 to Harvey West minus $100 for the coupon for a net of $210. Definitely not a good deal! From a service perspective they were very responsive, professional and courteous. Just too expensive.

It was excellent and everything went wonderfully. They came out the same day that I called them and they got to the job quickly. They also set up the appointment with the city to have them come out and check the water heater and they followed through with everything. They were very helpful and they did a great job.

The service turned out really well. They replaced a faucet and I also purchased a package for them to check all the other sinks and a water heater check. The technicians were efficient, friendly and knowledgeable. Scheduling was very easy.

I am sorry I dont remember the exact dates of the service or the details of the money I had to shell out. The reason I have not posted this review for a long time is because I wanted to make sure I had some experience with plumbing work. I got some work done from another company and the experience was much more pleasant. I feel the deal that is being offered is not worth the money. The plumbing company charges $35 dollars as service fee. So essentially we had a credit of $64 dollars to work with. I had got the deal to get an outside faucet repaired. The guy who came gave me a quote of around 300 + dollars to get that done. I could not afford that. (Later : I checked around and I got another company to do it for 60% of that value.) I did not want to waste the money I had already spent so I asked him if he can take a look at some of my faucets that were having issues with water flow. The guy said he can only do that if we buy the annual service contract. I had to spend some money to get that though I dont plan to use them in the future. To be fair, the service guy did go around checking my faucets and removed some of the debris in two faucet. But even the walk around seemed like a task in selling me other services. The service guy kept insisting that I had accumulation in my heater which was showing up in the bath tub though I had told him repeatedly that it was mud that my dog had got into the bath tub. I am hoping it was just a lack of judgement. I have not seen any signs of debris in the heater in the 4 months that have passed.

When they come out they are always really nice and fix the problems. They're not just trying to make as much money as possible. They're just honest

The technician was clean, efficient, very courteous and punctual. I had received a notice call that his arrival would be within 5 minutes of the stated time of the call. I explained what I 'thought' was the problem and what I wanted done. He told me that it would be no problem to do the work I wanted; but he said I would make the final decision after the results of his diagnostic review. He explained that a diagnostic overview would tell him where I had problems or not and he could do that for far less than for the work I wanted done. (Saving ME money!) His evaluation proved that something was wrong with the reverse-osmosis drinking system and not my plumbing. He explained the $99. service agreement that West Plumbing has and that if in the future I needed work; this would save the service call and maybe more. I told I would consider it. He was very friendly, but kept to his job throughout his stay. I would HIGHLY recommend this plumbing company in the future. I will definitely be calling them back...if the need arises. Hopefully not!

I had them come out and take a look at my plumbing needs. They gave me an estimate that was really high. They wanted to charge me $360 to replace a faucet. They were professional and they had great responsive; he was on time, but I did have an issue with their pricing.

He was personable and kind. He did have to come back to fix the internal parts of the toilet, it was putting out a lot of noise. After that, it worked fair.

It went pretty well overall. We didn't have any issues and the plumber understood what we were saying quickly. He did an overall excellent job. we will use this plumbing service again- price was also fair.
