Description of Work: They showed up in less than an hour to repair our AC system. when it was determined that system should be replaced, they had a crew on site in less than an hour and had the new system installed quickly and efficiently. It was a holiday weekend and the first provider would not come out for 4 days.

Description of Work: Camera into sewer line. Sewer line had detached from main line. He kept saying "lady, you have a BIGproblem over and over, then tried to pressure me to sign a contract for over $12,000 right then and there. I was upset by his badgering, didn't sign. Next day, called another plumber who said to check with my townhome association. Turns out it was their responsibility and they paid another company $5000. To tunnel under the slab, replace all pipes, and fix the joint to the sewer. Ars would have ripped me off royally.

Description of Work: We had our whole heating and cooling system replaced. Contacted them originally on Saturday after hearing a radio commercial that they would come out and give a free estimate for system replacements. We'd already had ours serviced several times that week by 2 other companies who recommended replacing it but tried a temporary fix. Unfortunately that didn't hold. Before spending several thousand to replace the system I thought it would be prudent to get a second quote from a reputable company (The first company gave us incorrect information and I was not comfortable including their quote in my decision.) | |When I called the lady who made the appointment was very friendly and explained it would be a no charge visit for the estimate without my even having to ask. We were given a window of 2 to 6pm. I called at 6 and was told we were still scheduled but now there was no known ETA. The technician wasn't able to come out until after 8pm but ARS did call 30 minutes prior to his arrival as they promised. He reviewed the system in place and we discussed options. Their quote came in significantly higher than our previous ones (about double) but I did choose a higher SEER system with more options. Since they were able to come out first thing the next morning (On Sunday - Father's Day!) we pulled the trigger. | |Install took place over 2 days. The old unit was removed and new system was put into place quickly Sunday so we had cool air again. We were told they would come out Monday morning to complete some connections and add in the air scrubber I'd added onto the system. Technicians were polite and friendly both days. However when I was given the manuals on Monday I realized the A/C unit shown was not the upgraded one I'd paid for but was the basic model. I asked the technicians who referred me to speak with the supervisor who'd written up the order. Once I had him on the phone and explained the situation I sent him a couple photos of what was installed and he apologized profusely because they had indeed installed the wrong model. His crew came back immediately and the incorrect unit was removed and the correct one put into place as soon as it could be driven over from the warehouse. Since it was a rush job done on Sunday when the warehouse is generally not open I could see how the error was originally made and was satisfied with their speed in remedying the issue.

Both Juan and Greg are clean cut looking and polite. They arrived promptly and got to work quickly. They got the job done much quicker than I thought it would take. They left the attic and the hallway clean and hauled the old hot water heater away. They were polite at every turn and didn't even ask for cold water to drink when they ran out, though they were very grateful to get some cold water when I offered it. Can't say enough good things about them. This is my second go round with the plumbers in this area, last time I had to speak to six different companies before I found a competent one. What a relief to find some real professionals the first time!
Description of Work: Woke up on Thursday night to a waterfall in the bathroom. Ran outside to shut the water to the house off, valve rusted shut. Managed to shut off the water to the house, but it still trickled. Finally got the hot water heater shut off. Called American Home Shield. They sent out ARS Rescue Rooter of Houston South. Juan showed up within a half hour looked at the job and promised to return at noon and they were right on time. They found the water heater broken from inside. Juan (Bucio) and Greg put in a new water heater, new pan, replaced the galvenized pipe for six feet. They climbed on roof to fix the storm collar, and installed new 3/4"ball valve and copper fittings on the riser outside.

A water heater failed because of an electrical short in a heating element. Because it was under warranty we contacted the manufacturer who said that ARS handles their warranty problems. ARS quickly responded and replaced the the heater element. The work was good and professional but they charged us over $300 for the labor ( the element was covered by the warranty). While they were there, they suggested that we replace the anode which appeared corroded. They charge us another $200 for that. It took every bit of 15 minutes to replace the anode on the same trip while they were still there. When I asked for a breakdown of the cost of time and parts was told that they charge by the job. I guess by doing that they could charge a larger amount even though the time there for doing the anode replacement was brief. Overall they were there for probably less than a full hour. While we saved about $65 on the element because it was covered by the warranty, we probably spent two or $300 more than we would have with another company. We felt that the charges were much more than was justified. ARS was a very expensive way to go. Shortly thereafter we had to replace the wax ring the toilet. It required removal of the toilet placing, better anchors for the toilet and replacing the wax ring all of which was done by another plumbing company for only $250.

Steam function on our washer went out, basically because we never used it. Repair cost about 1/3 of the original price of the washer (washer was not at the low end of the brand line), so we will know next time when buying a washer not to get this function. ARS came out, solved the problem quickly, and advised of repair. The technician advised in most cases that 2 parts needed replaced, but in some cases they only had to replace on piece of equipment, so he said he would replace one and see if it worked before replacing the other. We did have to get both pieces replaced, but felt confident the technician did everything he could to keep the cost as low as possible. Very satisfied with their performance.

They gave me a really high price on the estimate, so I decided not to use them. Otherwise, I have used them for appliance repair and several other things and have been more than satisfied. They are courteous and come on time. The one guy that has checked my AC has been coming over for several years and is really nice.
Description of Work: I've used ARS for years. I get their home maintenance plan once a year when they come out. They also come twice a year. When it’s time for cold weather they check the furnace and when it’s getting warm they check the AC. I had them come out the other day to give me an estimate on some plumbing work. I was recently having granite put in my bathroom and I wanted to see how much it would cost, plumbing wise, for the pipes under the counter. I had them give me an estimate.

It was not a good experience. They didn't fix the problem. They made the whole situation worse. They told me I was having a faucet leak and that I needed to replace all my pipes so they gave me an estimate of 10,000 dollars. I didn't go with them.

They gave me a very good price. They were very good. I had an excellent experience with the piping.
Description of Work: They put a water heater in for me and re-piped my horizontal pipes. They replaced the water line from the house to the meter. They put in a whole house water filter for me.

Ethan was the plumber I dealt with. He used more caution than a lot of the other plumbers I dealt with. He took his time and explained everything to me as to what he was doing it. He worked by himself. He had to wait some time on the parts from the company. He had control over the prices, which was great. He gave me a set price instead of hourly.

As a 82 year old i felt that they were taking advantage of my gray hair. We paid for the service call.. WE SENT THE SALESMAN PACKING.
Description of Work: We paid $79.95 for a service call to our eight year old AC unit. ARS sent a salesman disguised as a technician. The salesman/tech insulted our intelligence by finding impossible faults with my unit and even suggested that a second air return be added. In effect we paid for a service call ; had no service; but paid for a commercial. Bott0m line; We will never,NEVER.NEVER, NEVER, EVER use ARS for any type service. We will use a small local contractor for this type work

I didn?t have a good experience with them. I smelt gas in my garage. I called them and the guy told me to go out and hold a match. He said that if I got a little problem, then there could be a leakage. I really didn?t appreciate that. I was shocked that he had suggested me to go in there with a match when there could have been a gas leak. I really didn?t care for figuring it out for myself. I called them and told them that their technician had given me the worst advice ever. I think the guy didn?t know anything. I would have appreciated if he had told me so. I wasn?t very happy with them because there was gas leak now and then. He was a nice young man and he was good about coming out, though. He didn?t give me a professional advice. I got the gas company and they checked everything thoroughly. They told me that it was residual gas that would smell from time to time. It was a sensible answer rather than what was offered by this company. They should have been honest with me. I will not use them again in the future. I don?t trust their judgment any more.
