Very smoothly exceeding my expectations

The project went perfectly. Jim reviewed our landscape design plan and provided expert feedback. He and his crew completed the work exactly as expected and on time. Our front yard is fairly large, and the crew removed half of the grass, installed landscaping fabric with mulch over it, and placed metal edging around the mulch beds. They also removed 6 ft. of grass along the front curb and the driveway, put down river rock, and planted two small trees. They completed the work in 2 1/2 days, and we could not be happier with the results. We have had many compliments on the landscaping. A few months later we hired them to replace our 6 ft. wood privacy fence, and again the work was excellent. Highly recommend!

The job was outstanding. From our first phone call to set a meeting for an estimate,to completion of the job in one day, my yard is 1500 sq. ft., they were true professionals. Jim asked what I wanted,gave me his expert opinion, and delivered in spades. Of course, Jim was punctual and courteous, but went well beyond that. It turns out some harmful insects were discovered while the job was in process. Jim showed me what they looked like and what they were. He said he would take of the problem at no additional cost! The estimate he gave was the exact amount I paid, and it was completely reasonable and satisfactory. Also, when the crew finished, my property was totally clean and perfect. Outstanding job by Jim and his crew at Down to Earth Landscaping. The project included a small flagstone patio with two steps, landscaping around the foundation to remedy erosion and improve drainage, and a wooden fence repair. On the initial visit, Jim listened patiently and answered our questions about different options. He and his crew were punctual, courteous, hard-working and consistently cleaned-up. Jim's experience and craftsmanship had a transformative effect on our yard. We are especially pleased with the result. Will definitely use Jim again.

We had an outstanding experience with Jim Hall and his crew at Down to Earth Landscaping. Our project included replacing the six-foot wooden fence around our backyard, adding an additional gate, installing a rock border within the rear fence line and around a tree, installing river rock and greenery, rocking-in an area along one side of our house (to control drainage and remedy erosion issues), adding two flagstone extensions to our existing patio, adding rock borders around a front shrub bed and tree, and adding a flagstone walkway along the length of our driveway. From the beginning, we found Jim personable, attentive, and flexible. Going in we only had a rough idea of what we wanted to do in terms of overall design, and we had no consensus about plant selections. At our initial meeting, Jim patiently listened and offered some suggestions. He returned a few days later with a couple of design alternatives mapped out on paper. He gave us options to choose from for the plant selections and he helped us weigh the pros and cons of different choices. He was patient answering questions and he was clearly focused on making sure we would be satisfied with the results. Jim has a professional and focused team who worked diligently for the nine days they were onsite. The overall quality of the finished work is excellent. The fence is well-constructed. It is completely put together with screws (zero nails) and the materials are excellent quality. Jim did an outstanding job matching the color of the rock and stone selections with the stonework on our house, and we are pleased with his recommendations on the plant selections. The overall aesthetic of the entire job is outstanding. We are exceptionally pleased with the results.

The entire repair process went exceptionally well with Jim and his crew,\; from the interview and subsequent bid, to starting the project as scheduled, to finishing the project quickly and professionally. Throughout the process the communications were very good. The repairs were very well done. If you need patio or walkway work done, I highly recommend Down to Earth.

Jim was very responsive to my initial contact and came out within the same week to understand what I wanted and to prepare a quote. He was on time for the consultation and it was clear that he listened to what I wanted and was able to provide very good options on how to get the job done. He was also really open to changes that I made last minute. Once the quote (very reasonable compared to other quotes received) was accepted, work was started within the next week. All the work was done according to plan and he regularly checked that the work that was being done was up to my expectations. During the scheduled time, it was a bit rainy and rather than just stain the fence he said he'd come back later after a week of dry weather to get the best results on the stain. Once the work was done, he went over all of it with me and gave me ideas on how often to best maintain the work.

Excellent. Jim and his crew were professional, highly skilled, and personable. When I first met Jim, I knew he was the right man for the job. He listened attentively to my ideas and then went to his truck to complete a sketch of the plan. The next day I watched them take this plan from paper to reality. They diligently worked to its' completion and my satisfaction. Once they were finished, they clean the area not leaving a trace. I am planning on using Down to Earth Landscaping for my next project and highly recommended them to those who want quality landscaping.

No one ever contacted me about doing any work

Jim was great. I only had a general idea of what I wanted to do. He offered suggestions on plants and layout and made a rough drawing to show me his ideas. He and his staff showed up every morning ready to work. They were polite and completely professional. They cleaned up at the end of each day and finished within the quoted time. I asked for help with repairing my fence and he did that as well for a truly great price. I am thoroughly satisfied with his work and would highly recommend him.

We had an exceptionally good experience with Down to Earth landscaping, and recommend them enthusiastically. At the outset, Jim Hall listened carefully to what we wanted, which is a trait we found refreshing. He was punctual for every meeting, and on-site every day. He has his own crew, and does not use subcontractors. They showed up on time, worked hard, and cleaned up at the end of each day. The 3.5 day project was completed precisely as we had anticipated, and Jim walked through everything with us to make sure we were satisfied, also giving us advice on how to ensure the new plants would be well established. This is a first-rate landscaping firm that we will definitely use again.

Guy's did a great job repairing a poor job done by The Texas Fence Co (Daniel Romero). After being ghosted by Daniel, I decided to use Angie's List to find a real professional. Down to Earth answered my call, got me an estimate, and completed the job within 4 days. Highly Recommend!

Jim and his crew showed up on time, worked all day and completed the job. He was up front and apologetic that due to weather conditions we had to move the project date, but I understood that the weather was something uncontrollable. Both Jim and his crew were personable and hard working. He did exactly as he had outlined and the finished product was better than anticipated. Jim spent some extra time with me to make sure I knew what maintenance was needed. I would not hesitate to hire him again if the chance arises.

James and his crew did an excellent job xeriscaping my front yard and cleaning up my backyard. They were always on time and cleaned up at the end of each day. He offered several ideas of his own in the design of my front yard. Several neighbors have come by and told me how nice it looks. I will definitely hire him each year to work on my yard.

It took me almost 3 months to finally settle on this project. I was evaluating decking, pavers, artificial turf, etc. Jim patiently worked with me on my many revisions of the project. I went with a flagstone patio and it is beautiful. I also had some decorative fencing installed and again, Jim worked with me to achieve the look I was going for. He was on the job every day all day. He works to achieve customer satisfaction and he and his crew are very professional. I would definitely recommend him.

Jim and his crew were great to work with. They were punctual, professional, and did an excellent job in all phases of the project. Kept me notified of any problems that arose during the construction, and offered good solutions to the problems. The crew left the jobsite clean and organized every day when they were finished, and always asked permission to store items in the yard or patio overnight, which was much appreciated and noticed by me. They did such a good job that not only would I recommend them to anyone needing quality work, I am working with them again on a landscaping project for my yard.

Started on day promised. Jim and crew worked hard and were friendly and helpful despite bad weather. Very pleased with finished project and source of pride.

Jim listened carefully to my wishes offering helpful, sensible guidance for the best results. He and his crew were prompt and courteous and were particularly sensitive to our needs during construction due to having dogs. I could not be more happy with the outcome. I am already planning to use Down to Earth for additional outdoor improvements.

We have owned this house for 3 years now and have had Jim and his crew here each year. Each year Jim and his crew have wowed me. The job I asked for this year was beyond what I was expecting. I would say “attention to detail “ was the action of the day. I had acorns growing in my ground cover and they took the time to remove each one of them, not just trimming the tops off. The day was a wet and cool day but the carried on as if the sun was out. Jim and his crew were very polite and respectful. I would definitely recommend them and plan to use them again.
