From my perspective, I went from getting a $1,000 discount to getting a $350 discount (while paying significantly more in the final bill), whereas he went from getting paid $1,499 to now receiving $3,204, more than double. In light of this, I asked to have another $100 taken off my final bill which would have been in line with other bids I have gotten, bringing my total bill to $3,100. At first Greg agreed to this verbally, but once he sent me the revised contract he went back to the $3,204 and stated this was his final price.
If I was not happy with this I was welcome to cancel (which I have). He has a perfect right to grant or not grant a discount. My issue, reflected in my rating, was more with reneging on a verbal agreement.

After meeting in person with roughly 7 companies that I found through Angie's List I had it narrowed down to 2...an exhausting task.
At the last minute a friend that redesigns homes asked if Ringer was in the running and I said that I'd not heard of them and that I didn't want to complicate things anymore. Don't know how I missed them on Angie's. He convinced me to at least give them a ring. I obliged and ended up speaking directly to Greg Ringer...the owner of the company. I told him I was doing a friend a favor by contacting him and that I had my choice narrowed, and finally that unless he could come out the very next day...I was going to make my choice. Greg was extremely friendly and understanding and personally drove out to our home the following day.
Beyond being friendly, he shared his story with us (quite remarkable) and provided us with ideas and options that no one else had considered...I must say that I knew at the end of our meeting that barring a ridiculously high or low price point, he was our guy.
His price came in at a very competitive rate compared to the 2 other options in the running. We accepted the estimate and he immediately set our expectations on what would happen next. A visit from Jake the contractor that was going to be overseeing the install came out and he was every bit as friendly as Greg...we were even more sure we'd made the right decision by the time he left.
From there came the actual install. Again...they set our expectations and in one day 12 windows were replaced, everything was cleaned up, and we had stunning sliding windows throughout our home. Greg followed up with us the following week to make sure we were pleased...we were thrilled.
This happened in June. It's now October. I wanted to wait several months before posting this review to ensure we still felt the same way. This was easily one of the most challenging decisions to make as a new home owner and we couldn't be happier. Now that the weather is cooling off...it's really amazing to be able to get a great crosswind of fresh air throughout the house.
Other little surprises to note aside from a much improved energy bill from original 1954 single pane windows:
1. Quiet! These things all but eliminate neighborhood sounds as long as they're closed. It's really quite impressive and unexpected.
2. Screens! They're awesome....almost invisible and pretty much undetectable from the street. Aesthetically this is huge.
3. Locally made. Ringer Windows are not a contract company that puts in windows from another manufacuturer. They manufacture their own windows from there own central Texas factory. Pretty special.
4. Super solid yet minimalist look to the horizontal slider retains the original 1950's design. Lot's of homes around here made bizarre decisions that really distract the eye from the original intent of the design. These compliment (IMHO).

The windows were installed in 3 days by a 3-4 man crew. They were pleasant to have in my home, they left every day with everything totally picked up and removed from the yard and did an awesome job. The windows are super! We've already noticed such a huge difference inside with keeping the heat out on hot days and keeping us warmer when the temps have dropped. Another pleasant surprise is how these windows have cut down on the noise!
We love our new Ringer Windows and would highly recommend this company!

The installers were quick, professional, and left all my windows in great shape. There were a couple of existing wood trim pieces that needed a very small amount of touch-up paint.
All the new windows are double-pane and replaced original construction grade single pane windows. We are extremely happy with our windows. They eliminated a great deal of outside noise and definitely improved our overall comfort.
I would definitely use Ringer Windows again, but I won't have any windows to replace for a while.

The work crew was excellent. They accommodated my schedule by coming in on a Saturday and were done and ready by early afternoon. The quality of the work was outstanding and the windows make a HUGE difference, especially when it's hot!

Ringer was not the lowest bid, but very competitive.
Jake and the crew arrived on time and began working methodically. I texted my wife that these guys seemed to know what they were doing. All of the crew were friendly and professional. Jake had estimated that the job would take a day to a day and a half. Work including clean up was done in about 7 hrs. Everything was done as well as I could have hoped with windows installed to our satisfaction and excellent clean up.
We had some windows done by WW previously and noted that the "lip" to pull up the sash on the WW windows was at the bottom of the sash with thin plastic, which might be a problem down the road. The Ringer Windows have a "lip" with thicker plastic at the top of the sash. One thing that I do like better about the WW windows is that on slider windows there is an outside track for the screen to move on so that if you wish to clean the sash, you just slide the screen out of the way. On Ringer sliders you must take sash off the track to clean which can be a pain and possible 2 person job if you have large sliders as I do.
In conclusion, I would recommend Ringer to anyone. I believe that having their own factory to manufacture the windows saves on costs and it is good policy to buy local.
