I called for an appointment and was told that there was a $99.99 fee for service call which would be applied to the cost of labor if work was done.   I got an appointment for 2 days later and the technician arrived on time and went straight to work.  I expected the ice maker to be replaced and it was... after he had spent some minutes looking up the cost and giving me a total of the estimate.  I agreed and the work was done in another 10 minutes.  I paid with my credit card and was told the receipt would come to me via email.  The next morning I looked at my email, found the receipt and found tha the part was $185, the labor was $91 and the service call ws $99.99.  I called Royal and they informed me that that was correct, the actual labor cost was the total of the two.  I consider that about $99.00 more than the labor should be and I won't be using them again.

The dryer was taking too long to dry a load of clothes so I contacted several repair services.  Royal was the only service that did not use a recording to leave a message and was the first to set up an appointment.   They were very professional, calling to say they could arrive an hour earlier if that would work for us...Very pleasant surprise in this day of late arrivals or missed appointments with no notification.
The repairmen promptly and checked out the dryer and found everything in working order so he began checking the vents in the utility room, finding nothing. He then determined the vent on the roof was probably clogged. In no time, he removed the vent cover and cleaned out the clogged vent. A simple fix but one that I was not able to do myself.
If we have future issues with appliances, we will give Royal a call first.

Called on Monday morning 8 AM, got a recorded message saying they were closed and office hours were 8 AM - ( that is when I hung up). Finally got through a 8:19 to a person who kept sniffling in my ear telling me that the first available was Wednesday to fix my refrigerator

The repair man did the job nicely. In the first visit he evaluated that I was correct in describing the problem. He ordered the part and returned about a week later to replace the old tubing.

It was a warranty repair so I was only charged for the service call.

The seal on my Frigidaire dishwasher broke splashing bits of plastic on the dishes and leaking water on the floor. I called Lowe's and they set up a call to Royal Appliance Repair in Spring who does their maintenance.

The call to just look at it costs $75.00 and the work and seal anothr $75.00.

After the repairman left, it no longer leaked so I assumed it was fixed. However, it still threw bits of plastic on the dishes so I ran a cleaner through it several times. I received a questionaire from them about the service and filled it out to explain that the diswasher was not fixed.

On August 4th, I still hadn't heard from them and called to ask when they plan to come back. She said since they had not responded until now I would have to pay again. I suggested it wasn't my fault they had ignored me, and asked to speak to the service manager. He wasn't available.

Installer arrived at 9:45 (with in the appointment window).  Neat and polite. The service Invoice described the problem as a Maytag washer making a weird sound. Model # and serial # were  listed correctly.  Call source was listed as referral (I was never asked, and it was Angie's list not a referral)  Special Instructions : KS-75.00 Trip Plus tax Plus Labor and parts.  See above. (I was NOT told that)  The problem was not the belt but the Idler pulley which he replaced.  I mentioned that I had asked for an estimate (am currently unemployed so money is very important) and no mention of labor was made.  I paid him by check and told his that his service was outstanding but that the office staff clearly had problems.   Service man was apologized for errors made. He acknowledged that the error of washer instead of dryer was information he should have had.  An unmentioned labor charge which I paid. I told him I would complain to the office and Angie's list.  He was the point of contact but it was clearly not his fault.

Service guy was punctual and honest.  Cost of repars was going to be 80% of cost of a new ice maker.  He advised buyine a new one [they repair but don't sell the ice machine].  He also suggested a trusted brfand name.  He was very helpful and did not push a major repair bill.

Royal appliance did a great job. My oven had quit working and my dishwasher was leaking. I was able to get an appointment very quickly. The technician arrived on time, diagnosed the probems quickly and fixed them right away. I was very pleased and will use them again.

They came out and fixed my refrigerator and then it turned out that the part that they fixed was out of warranty and they did not have documentation of the repair reflected other than the one they performed. When another somebody come out and they figured it out and fixed it under warranty. The documentation was such that I could not get reimbursed because their documentation reflected that they had performed a service other than the one that they had done. They did exactly what I wanted them to do and then documented it in a way that it could have been a win-win. I would have used them again. Their paper work was held up and that bugs me. I would consider them and I am not sure if I would use them. They were fairly priced.

Everything went well with the repair when it was finally determined what was wrong with the washer but my complaint is that the company insisted upon charging me two diagnostic fees. One the first time they came out even though they never found a problem and a second fee the second visit when they did identify the problem with our assistance (if we had not described what happened it would have been another "I don't know" diagnosis). The technician didn't want to charge us and said he'd check with the owner before charging it to us but if the owner said he had to then we could pay it when the repair was done. It irritated me that I was paying twice for basically one diagnosis that should have been deduced on the first visit. I had no problem with the repairs though or the charges involved with the actual repair. It would have been nice though to have been given a break on the diagnosis fee since they had seen the washer just a few weeks before.

They were not able to come as soon as we hoped but gave us a 2 hour window, were there well within that time, John was a super guy that diagnosed it as a simple fix almost immediately (a relay had gone out) replaced it, pointed out some things about our Maytag appliance(s) that we could do ourselves. The misunderstanding may hve arisen over his replacing the relay that had gone out with another that he had on him and but wrote it up as something else. He seemed like a really super guy. Then, a few minutes after he left, the refrigerator seemed to have gone out again, so I hurriedly called Royal and asked them to contact John and have him give me a call, which he promptly did. He said he believed it must have cycled into its defrost mode and it had. That made sense and was very reassuring Some months later, we learned that our refrigerator was the subject of a class action for that reparir, faulty relays. Having previously submitted a glowing report to Angie's List, I was pretty surprised. We were told to submit the invoice and payment and we would be reimbursed. The receipt was vague and when the vendor was contacted, their records reflected a complete fabrication other than the reason for the service call and service, so the claim was denied. Their records reflected something like dirty coils rather than the fact that the relay had been replaced or claimed that it had been. I am extremely displeased about that situation. The documentation is spotty. John may have been doing me a solid by sticking that relay and charging me just a lesser trip charge. Yes, they fixed the appliance, but their records reflect they did not fix what they represented they fixed, and, it cut me off from receiving a refund. I feel schizophrenic about the report because I went from extremely pleased to extrememly frustrated over something that has the possibility of reflecting on their integrity. I may have played a part in that but I feel like I had to pay for something that only later did I discover I either should not have had to pay for, or else should have been reimbursed for. I would not put them on the POH and am undecided if I would use them again.

I always use this company for any appliances that are or are not under warranty. They are very efficient and knowledgeable about them. As soon as the part came in they were right there to put it in.

We never did end up using them, because it was going to be very expensive to fix the oven and we were not financially able at the time. I didn't use the oven for six months, knowing we would eventually get it fixed. After about 6 months, I called them back and told them I was ready to have them fix my oven. They told me they would have to come out and do another estimate and charge me another $100, even though they still had my last estimate on file. I explained to them, that I had not even used it, since the last estimate was given, but they would not agree. The lady on the phone said that they didn't know if I had damaged it further and they still had to charge me another $100. I can understand them wanting to take another look to be sure of this before they agree to honor their last estimate, but I don't understand why they want to charge me again. They are very unprofessional in my opinion. I refused to have them out after that.

PLEASANTLY SURPRISED! NOT USED TO SUCH GOOD SERVICE FROM A REPAIR COMPANY. AS PROMISED I WAS CALLED IN THE MORNING AND GIVEN A 2 HOUR WINDOW FOR ARRIVAL TIME. THE TECHNICIAN ARRIVED A BIT EARLY, QUICKLY DIAGNOSED AND FIXED THE PROBLEM. ANY FUTURE PROBLEMS WITH ANY APPLIANCE-- I WOULD DEFINITELY CALL THIS COMPANY.
