The job started right on time. They started off by preparing the area for work. Everything was covered with plastic and every attempt was made to keep dust out of the surrounding areas. Plastic runner was put down on the carpet leading to the room so things were kept clean. Then it was demo time. A jackhammer, sledge hammers, and a lot of muscle broke up all the tile on the floor, took out the shower walls and the tub surround. The toilet was taken out, sinks taken out and the tile countertops removed. The only real oops in the demo process was that one glass block got broken. I didn't worry though. To tell the truth I figured that if they couldn't fix it...selfish little old me said..."that's not on my dime." :) But, they did a great job of fixing it, even with the block being in the worst place to get to. After the demo the first thing done was rebuilding the damaged walls, putting up the wallboard around the tub and removing the step leading up to the tub. Then it was time for the plumbing. We put in a new shower valve that was a 3-way valve. Plumbing done it was on to tiling. The floor got done first. We had it laid on a 45 degree angle and used 20 inch tile. The floor moved quite fast with it being just a couple of days until the entire thing was done including the closets. The shower is what took most of the time. Using their water-tight system the shower was prepared, new floor, shower pan, etc. Then the tile was installed. I will have to admit that the tilers that worked on our bathroom were SO precise. I was quite impressed with their attention to detail. The windows and the bench in the shower required many precise cuts. I was very pleased with their attention to detail. After the shower was done the tile was run around the wall to the tub surround. While the tiling was going on the new countertops came in. We had new granite countertops and undermount sinks installed as well as granite in the window sills above the tub. The bathroom was finished off with new paint and cleaning of the glass block. It looks great and I am very pleased with it.

It did not go well. Jim did our kitchen and I gave him a stellar report in October 2007, but it was the complete opposite a year later on this job. We had to call the project leader every day to find out what was happening that day. We were promised workmen and were lied to about their arrival. They paid no attention to ordering requests (doors, supply lines). The cabinets were not the quality we expected. The plumber left us without hot water for two nights and we went out and bought a water heater thinking that was the problem, the plumber also nicked our A/C and the company had to call out an A/C company to make sure the whole system wasn't compromised. The sink & faucets were a puzzle to the plumber so we installed them ourselves. When we complained to Jim by both email and with phone messages there was no response. When we finally spoke to him he refused to acknowledge our concerns. Don't know what happened, but the two jobs were like night and day. We reduced the overall payment to compensate for the number of errors/half finished work that was done.

It was a joy to work with Jim and his crew. They were on time and on budget. The crew did exemplary work, cleaned up after themselves and did whatever was asked of them. Jim checked on the work of his team on a daily basis and was interested in our ideas and our satisfaction with the work being done. It took four weeks from start to finish - just as Jim promised it would. We were very impressed.

Beautifully laid floors; attention to detail; no detail was left unfinished. They came back to replace on small piece of quarter round when it wasn't a complete match.

The remodeling work took about 2 weeks and it went smoothly. The work was done as per estimate and it turned out great. The employees kept us up to date on what was going on and there were no problems. We are very happy with the new bathroom
