Houston Admiral Air Conditioning and Heating

They did fix the AC and it is working. However, we were severely overcharged for the privilege of their services. Do yourself a favor and NEVER call Admiral Services.

Terrible. I answered a telephone solicitation from them for an A/C heating checkup. Paid $50. After the check-up the technician told me I had a crack in my heat exchanger and recommended $4000 worth of work. I then had my heat exchanger checked by Absolute Comfort who I had used before with great satisfaction. Their technician inspected the unit and said there was no crack in the heat exchanger. When I reported this to Admiral, they sent two supervisors to inspect the unit....and they said again that there WAS a crack in the heat exchanger. Absolute Comfort again inspected it and said there was no crack. Without me giving him a name, Absolute Comfort asked if the company was Admiral. When I said yes, he said he had just serviced another customer, who was told they had a cracked heat exchanger that requires thousands of dollars to repair. When he inspected it, it was not cracked either. Admiral's president offered me a refund, and then withdrew the offer.

The technician informed me of all testing that was done, and why he felt an efficiency upgrade would help the system operate more smoothly. All of this took approximately two hours, and then he cleaned everything up. The upgrade turned out to be a good idea. I noticed the cool air coming out of the vents with more force. This helped keep my energy bills a little lower, because the system does not have to run as much.

I feel that they are a dishonest company. They tried to sell me stuff that I didn't need. I had it all installed & a little while later, I had a another guy come out from the same company trying to sell me a whole new air conditioner. I found out later that the problem was a gas leak. I did not need a whole new system. I think that they were just out to get my money.

Admiral Air Conditioning & Heating came out & looked at our air conditioner, which was leaking freon. They said it couldn't be fixed; he claimed he filled it up but later we found out he didn't because another company came out two weeks later & the air conditioner didn't have any freon in it. This guy said it wouldn't have leaked that much if he filled it two weeks ago. So Admiral tried to sell us an air conditioner & quoted us an awful price of $7,000 but we got another opinion. We believe this company tried to take advantage of us & they should not be allowed to do this to people. They had the nerve to call us six months later to tell us it was time for a check up. I told him never to call back & that we would never use them again.

The service people from Admiral Services are very punctual and efficient when doing the annual check up on the furnace. Recently, Admiral sent two men out to clean our furnace and to check things over to make sure everything was working properly. I was very pleased. The men were great to answer my questions, and the company is very good to follow up with you to see if you need anything. Admiral has been servicing my furnace for many years, and they are very trustworthy.

We pay an annual fee to have our air conditioning taken care of. Admiral comes out a few times a year to do diagnostics on the system & they do this well. The bad part is the high pressure sales tactics that are used in order to sell additions to what we already have. I do not believe they are honest when the sales pitch starts. I think I will no longer use them.

Admiral answered my message promptly and followed up readily with estimates and installation. They were a little high on their prices but were able to explain the specific selection of different units and the advantages with a lifetime warranty. The installation was scheduled as soon as an agreement was reached, and the installer was on time. He cleaned up any mess and checked for leaks.

Admiral Services did a really good job replacing glass in my broken window. They did all the work exactly the way I asked them to do without nagging or hassling. I think that they used the highest quality materials. I feel that they were very professional and polite.

GOOD MANNERS; THOROUGH CHECKS BUT GROSSLY OVERPRICED WORK.
