Scheduled an appointment through their website on August 5th. Received an automated email response, so I know it went through. Appointment day - August 6th came and I didn’t receive confirmation like the automated email said, so I called them. Guess what? No record of my address having an appointment. Really!!? He said we can put you on the schedule for Saturday (today) at 3:00 pm. Here we are after 5:30 pm and I have not heard from anyone. So one star for the automated email. 😂 Good luck! 🍀

Their service is okay but they cane be quite annoying because they call and call even if its not time or maintenance. I've even asked them to stop and they won't. We have a warranty with them if not we wouldn't use them. The technicians are nice but so try to up sell. I give the technicians an A but not the office staff.

The only beef that I had with them is they just called me all the time. They do a good job when they would come out and everything. They would just call too much just trying to give specials and "have you had it done yet?", you know, and just bugging you. It was $69 for two units. They do a good job. I mean, I didn't have a problem with their service. It was just they wouldn't quit calling me. I told them that I didn't want to do it again in the Spring because I had just had it done in the fall and I would tell them, "no, I don't want to do another one". They would call me every week, I would block the call and then they would call from another number. They would call the house phone and they would call my cell phone. It just really got to be a nuisance. When I would tell them no I am not interested this time, I'm fine, don't call again, they would still call. It was just a annoying. That's their office people. As far as their actual service, it was fine. The price was good. For responsiveness, they get a B because my needs were for them to quit calling me and they wouldn't.

This company is not to be believed! Almost every time they have done their inspection (every 6 months) they have found something that has cost on average of $300-$500 and they have said it needs to be taken care of right then or it will nullify the lifetime warranty if it breaks down due to the "problem." This time someone came in and checked the system and told us that it was rusted out (in the attic) and would not last long and our only option would be to get a new system. There was also the problem that we had the older Freon in the system and they would have to replace the system upstairs for the newer type because of that. However we would also need to get a new outside unit because the 2 would no longer be compatible (we found out otherwise later). This would cost a sum total of approximately $18000-$21000. This technician had left the cover off the filter box after inspecting the unit upstairs. As a result there was a lot of dust and dirt being distributed in the house adding to our allergies. At an earlier date I had purchased an ADCO UV filtration system (this was a good one) and needless to say that thing was working overtime and not able to keep up. Also, the filter that they had been replacing every 6 months was not the right size or brand for the filter box so more allergens were getting distributed within the house. They were holding us "hostage" by the "lifetime warranty" (that wasn't a lifetime warranty). I would suggest unless they change their ways please do not think about using them.

He pointed out several items, drain pipe getting plugged, condensing unit, outside was drawing 101 amps and he recommended an add on device, relay switch pitted recommended replacement, and unit needed Freon. Would not just replace Freon because he said it was more than 20% low and he would have to evacuate unite and replace ALL the Freon. wanted apx. $300 to replace relay switch, 350 to add part to reduce starting load on pump. wanted to replace switch on drain pan with one in drain line, didn't get price. Told me the furnace was not variable speed, but upon further checking it Wanted to replace condensing coil in furnace even though he told me he detected NO oil on coil. Gave me an estimate on replacing defective materials including new AC unit of $10,035, guess I have better check around a little first.

They gave me a price going in but I trusted them and I did not receive another bid. They are a crooked outfit and I would not recommend their services to anyone. So far the work is all right but they used the bottom of the line equipment. I researched it and tt was the lowest grade you could get. They say they have a lifetime warranty. However, I do not believe it. From what I heard, I am quite sure the labor would be so high that it would be cheaper to use another provider. They have a very poor reputation.

I will not even accept their calls or use them again. I showed the people who came later what admiral had told me and they told me that the system did not have any of those problems. They provided service immediately but honestly I don?t think 90% of what they did needed to be done. They offered to do the right job later, but I could not trust them again.
Description of Work: I used Admiral last time to check the heating system and claimed that we had over $4000 repairs to be done. We had two other independent people come and check who told that there was absolutely nothing wrong with the heating system. We reported about them to Better Business Bureau.

Response from Houston Admiral Air Conditioning and Heating
I believe that this is a case of mistaken identity and that this customer is posting a report for another company. We did not do this job.as far as I know and would ask that this report be suspended until the customer that wrote the report can be contacted and produce an invoice with our name on it. As far as I know we have never worked for this customer.

I received a cold call from Admiral Air Conditioning several weeks ago offering a complete inspection of my A/C system for $59.95. I usually avoid accepting these offers, preferring to pick the companies myself, but was very busy at the time so agreed to accept the offer. I found it a little odd that the person who called me to arrange for the service had to call a supervisor over to confirm all the details of what we had agreed to (much like a call bank). It wasn't until the day they arrived that I got around to looking them up on the BBB website and found them to be rated D- for unresolved customer complaints. Two guys showed up for the inspection and began to find things wrong immediately: The coil was rusty and leaking, needed a new flow switch, the A/C units were not level, needed to replace the condenser, and needed to replace the fan motor. The coil alone would be $3350, and they suggested that we run a dye test on it where they inject dye into the system to see where it's leaking freon. That way we could determine whether it could be repaired rather than replaced. Sounded like a good idea, so asked them what it would cost. The answer: $850! with, of course, no guarantee that they wouldn't have to replace the coil anyway for $3350. This was all sounding very suspicious to me, so told them I would need a second opinion before proceeding with any work (they were not happy to hear this). I paid my $60 and sent them on their way. I then looked up a well-rated A/C service on Angie's List (just became a member a few weeks ago) and they inspected the whole system today (about a week after Admiral). The result? The system was in good shape (technician rated it a B+), the coils were clean and needed no repair, there was no indication of a leak, no problem with the condenser, and no problem with the fan motor. Only issue is that the drain lines needed some cleaning. Total cost of the second inspection: $69.95. I believe Admiral was trying to scam me.
Description of Work: Performed an inspection of my A/C system, and recommended repairs.

We had checked out 15 service providers in the Houston area. These people came before the cold front came through. Everybody else had called us only after it. It was unusually cold and they were a godsend. They went up to see if we had any mice or any critters and if everything was okay. They came right when they said they would. They were terrific and there was hardly any inconvenience. One of the gentlemen even came on crutches. They were right on time and surprisingly good. They man who actually did the work went outside after he was finished. It was the gentleman in the crutches who took care of the paperwork. They were here for about 15 minutes and everything worked out well.

I'll be contacting the company about their price gouging and my damaged ceiling. DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE!!
Description of Work: I called Admiral to get a second opinion on my heating unit. Admiral confirmed my first inspection, that I needed a new circuit board. But instead of the $500 I was quoted by the first company, they quoted $900. They charged me $100 to just ring my doorbell and then $140 for 1 hour of labor (?). They spent 15 minutes and during that time managed to crack my ceiling sheetrock! I will NEVER use this company again. I just wished I had checked Angie's List before I called them. STAY AWAY FROM THESE RIPOFF ARTISTS!!

Poorly. I complained to company but to no avail.
Description of Work: Service personal did advertised routine spring check-up for $69/per unit. Technician advised that units were leaking freon and needed servicing. I told them that I had a home warranaty insurance plan that covered HVAC. One pound of freon/per unit was included with the service call - they asked if I wanted them to add the freon. I questioned because the units were leaking. They said no problem with adding the freon at this time. I said okay and they proceeded to add 18.95 pounds of freon at a cost of $79.50 per pound, I only meant for them to add the free 1 pound/unit of freon but now I know that no freon should have been added until the leaks were repaired. I was told by the company that did the warranty work that the HVAC technician should have know never to add freon to leaking units unless it is an emergency situation. I feel they added the freon in order to make a profit, since they knew home warranty would be doing the repair work.

I think I got royally taken. I don't think I needed all of those things done in the first place. We did not end up purchasing the new unit.
Description of Work: Last summer on a very hot day the air conditioner was not working. They came out the next morning. They checked it out. They kept trying different things and none of them were working. By the time they left, I had spent $6,000 on their service. They came out in six months and told me our heater was bad, and we needed to replace it.

They did fix the AC and it is working. However, we were severely overcharged for the privilege of their services. Do yourself a favor and NEVER call Admiral Services.
Description of Work: My AC stopped working late on a Friday. I called the one reputable company that I knew first thing Saturday, but they had no appointments available for several days. Did a quick search for nearby HVAC on-line and called Admiral Services. They promised to show in about an hour. 2 hours later they showed up. They gave what seemed to be a high estimate, but I had just moved into this house and did not know any history on the AC equipment. When I googled the part numbers they replaced, I found they charged me $800 for parts that cost less than $10. I proceeded to google "Admiral Services" and found that I am not the first person they have done this to.

Terrible. I answered a telephone solicitation from them for an A/C heating checkup. Paid $50. After the check-up the technician told me I had a crack in my heat exchanger and recommended $4000 worth of work. I then had my heat exchanger checked by Absolute Comfort who I had used before with great satisfaction. Their technician inspected the unit and said there was no crack in the heat exchanger. When I reported this to Admiral, they sent two supervisors to inspect the unit....and they said again that there WAS a crack in the heat exchanger. Absolute Comfort again inspected it and said there was no crack. Without me giving him a name, Absolute Comfort asked if the company was Admiral. When I said yes, he said he had just serviced another customer, who was told they had a cracked heat exchanger that requires thousands of dollars to repair. When he inspected it, it was not cracked either. Admiral's president offered me a refund, and then withdrew the offer.

The technician informed me of all testing that was done, and why he felt an efficiency upgrade would help the system operate more smoothly. All of this took approximately two hours, and then he cleaned everything up. The upgrade turned out to be a good idea. I noticed the cool air coming out of the vents with more force. This helped keep my energy bills a little lower, because the system does not have to run as much.
Description of Work: Admiral Air Conditioning and Heating did a complete diagnostic test on the air conditioning system and an efficiency upgrade.
