Andrew was able to come by a couple hours after our call and looked over the carport and garage roof. I also had him cut an access hole into our carport ceiling so we could check inside the carport roof. When he checked it, there were no visible signs of a leak and everything looked dry. He identified several spots where sealing the flashing would be a good idea and also said he knew someone who could fix any roofing problems should we discover an actual leak during a later heavy rain as well as someone who could handle some gutter problems we have. Very happy with his prompt response, helpfulness and price. We will definitely keep Affordable Home Repair and Remodeling in mind for any future problems we might encounter.

First, if you want quality workmanship, creative solutions and conscientious neat workers, Andrew Bernal and his team are the ones to hire! His prices are reasonable.  I have a lot of history owning homes, both my own and rental property.  My father was a handyman himself and we have always been very particular with home repairs and construction.  As my father aged, I needed to find someone that cared about repairs, remodels as much as us.  I couldn't believe it when I found Andrew! He offers creative, functional, unique, affordable ideas to tough challenges that will last. "Band-Aid" solutions are not his style.  The best part is the work really is perfect!  Every time when he finished I would inspect and I couldn't find imperfections.  As problems arise, as when you tear a wall down and find water damage, etc, he is quick to point out the problems and offers solutions.  I trust him and his judgment to do the right thing and point out problems as they arise. I have used him for the last 2 years now and have found the quality is consistent.  He does take his time to do the work right.  If you are about getting the job done right, and not rushing through it, I highly recommend Affordable Home Repair and Remodel.

Excellent work.  The only knock is that they were late getting to the house both days they were here.  However, they never stopped working after they got here.  They took 1 break and that was to wait for the drywall texture to dry before they could do anything else.
The first day they came and hung the drywall and taped and floated the seams.  When he left, I put a fan in the room to help dry it faster.  The second day, he brought a helper.  While he was texturing the ceiling and wall areas where the repair was, his helper started painting.  They worked late until it was finished.  After inspection, there was nothing they had to correct.  I can't tell where the wall and ceiling were repaired.  Everything blended in exceptionally well.  The man might not be the fastest, but his work is impeccable.  I will definitely use him in the future.
The price he quoted for all the work was reasonable and in line with other estimates.
I gave him a "B" on the overall score because I believe there is always room for improvement.  I never give an "A".

Andrew and his team were fully knowledgeable in what needed to be done and offered us advice and direction. We had a unique situation with the roots in the yard and he offered resolution to complete the task without harming the trees.  They were pleasant to work with and patient with our requests and wants.  Very punctual and stayed if necessary.  We will be hiring him again on the next step of our project.

Andrew and his crew showed up every morning when they said they would and they cleaned up the worksite at the end of every day. They were professional, courteous, and worked quickly. Andrew took time every evening when he left to offer us advice and help with other tasks. We are tackling most of the remodel on our own, so we were so fortunate to have Andrew around. He was more than willing to answer questions and offer suggestions.

Andy and his son did a patio extension for us and it was amazing! 7x14 ft bumped up to an existing 7 yr old patio with a very thin separation. We have a sloped yard and he had to bring 2 trucks of dirt to backfill and level the area, kept the grass they'd moved to relocate (and told us how to water it to salvage it!) we have already contacted him for more work!!!

Andrew was fantastic.  We have an unusual situation and needed to have a doggy door installed through a wall in our home - a wall with a brick exterior.  Andrew and his son completed the job in two visits- allowing time for the cement to set before completing the framing of the door. Andrew was careful to explain each step of the job to me, called me in to show me what was being done and asked me anytime he had a question.  He explained any potential problems he saw with the project and offered multiple solutions.  The only possible complaint would be that he was running late the first day, but that happens sometimes.  He apologized for being behind schedule and was professional and got the job done.  His work is beautiful and sound and it looks as though the door has always been there.  I would not hesitate to call on Andrew again for any home improvement needs.

All of the work done by Andrew and his team did an excellent job on every task requested. Andrew and his team were always on time or he let me know what time he would arrive.  They worked long hours and Andrew was quite detail-oriented on every part of the job, no matter what was added along the way.  I wholeheartedly recommend Andrew Bernal as everyone's handyman...I KNOW I will be calling on him for whatever I need.

All in all I was VERY pleased with his work. He was prompt and on time every day of the job. He worked fast and diligently to get the job done right, and he had excellent control of his crew when he needed them (for the heavier foundation jobs). He went above and beyond what I would consider to be great workmanship.

Throughout the job I continually asked him to replace new things and repair new things that we hadn't previously discussed. He was very compassionate and understanding when I asked him to add a new job to the work order. He never complained once about my ever increasing list of jobs I wanted to have done, "Yes ma'am" was the only thing out of his mouth!!! I would also like to mention he was very professional when the new jobs were added. He kept all the receipts for any and every new item or material he needed to purchase from Home Depot or Lowes, explained to me in simple terms why he needed those materials and gave me the options as to which materials I wanted to purchase and have installed. I felt very much in control of the entire process and was never left in the dark about what was being done. He also maintained his work at very low price!

I HIGHLY recommend Andrew Bernal and crew for any home repairs, construction, flooring, painting, trimming, plumbing, and insulation work needed to be done at your house or place of business. Again he was very professional and the HUGE amount of work I had done on my home, he made seem quick and painless.
