Jason and his team did a wonderful job on our yard.  He and his team were very professional.  I called for an estimate and he came out within a few days and provided a quote a few days later.  The quote was very reasonable.  He then scheduled the work for 3 weeks out (busy time of year) and actually started according to schedule.  I found him very easy to work with and he was very flexible and accommodated some last minute changes we requested.  I would definitely call him again for any landscaping needs.

I called this company (Jason) on 4/2/12.  I wanted a quote to have a sprinkler system installed, the yard re-leveled, all new grass, and some shrubs replaced.  I asked if he could come by at his convenience and look at the yard and give me an estimate.  Tomorrow will be 4 weeks from this phone call, and I haven't heard a word.

He promptly returned my phone calls, got out here quick, communicated well, he wasn't here all the time but would check in and his crew would get the job done, the crew was excellent and they worked hard, there was excellent service and they are highly recommended, he did more than was called for in the quote.

The first controller they installed was defective but they were able to install a temporary one while they obtained a new one.
Their availability and responsiveness was good during the project  but I am having trouble getting them to return calls as of this writing.  I need some adjustments to sprinkler heads but they are not returning calls.  If they continue to ignore my calls I will not be happy with their service after the sale.  They also promised to provide a drawing of the sprinkler head  locations but have not delivered thus far.

I was most pleased with their work.  It was a really good price.  They quoted more, however when they completed the work, they charged $150 lesser than the original quote.  I have recommended them to everybody I talk with; I am that pleased.  The quality appears to be good but right now, I am not using the irrigation system to where I could really see if everything is functioning as it appears to be.  However, from the demonstration and sensory system and the control system, I think it is excellent quality work.  They were very good with their responsiveness.  I did have some problem in the beginning about an email that they had sent to me with information on the plan of work and I didn’t get it.  I have been having some problems getting email's on my computer, so it was not their problem.  They showed up on time and Jason, the owner did everything he said he would do.  He is a super professional person.  He has a degree in landscaping architecture from Texas Tech University in Lubbock.

same day I called he came out that evening for a bid.  Bid was in line with others.  job started when he said it would (about two weeks), we then had a delay (my demand to have a specific brand of mulch), once that was available he completed rest of project promptly.      Jason (owner) is a honest and straight forward person and a pleasure to do business with.  Highly recommend him.

Jayson Newsom and Crew did what was necessary, no surprises.

Jason's crew work 2 days and did everything they said they would do.  I will use them again and recommend them without hesitation. 

I was having problems with 2 irrigation systems.  I am new to the area so I researched companies on Angie's List.  I selected Newsom's Landscaping based on the reviews.  Newsom's arrived when scheduled, was knowledgeable, courteous and addressed each of my concerns.  The repairs/corrections were made to the irrigation systems.  The price charged was competitive and reasonable.  I will be using Newsom's in the future and would highly recommend this company.

UPDATE:  Newsom's provided an estimate for landscaping work.  I contacted them by email in early 2012 to begin the landscape project.  Newsom emailed back stating he would look up the estimate and get back to me.  I did not hear from him again.  I would not recommend any contractor that does not follow through.

We live in North Carolina half of the time and in Houston the other half, where we grandparent.  He was most considerate in working around my carpools and our being in and out of town.  He did exactly what he had bid, and did it very professionally. He is an outstanding young man who exhibits integrity in his work.

Mr. Newsome is a true professional!  He was timely, polite and very competent in his work.  He explained what we needed and did not try to up-sell me at any time.  His crew did a wonderful job and I have already referred a friend to him to have work done.  I would recommend him to anyone wanting great landscaping and/or irrigation work done!

Jason showed up on time, made very useful recommendations and sent us a detailed estimate via e-mail for what we wanted.  He was the lowest bid out of three companies, and only Newsom offered all the options we required.  He and his crew did exactly as we requested and even managed to incorporate some changes on the fly.  The quality of the work was excellent and though he was not here every day his crew worked, they performed in a professional manner.  Jason walked us through each step of the project and he was very responsive to our suggestions and requests.  The job was completed on time and for the quoted price, and they did a great job of cleaning up.  We will definitely use this company again and recommend them to all our friends and neighbors.

They did what they said they would do for the landscaping part but for the maintenance part the guys basically blew the leaves and pine needles to the back of the fence.  We hardly ever saw them take bags out which is what you would expect them to do when you have a yard full of trees.  The final straw was when we saw them blowing them down into the drain which in Houston is illegal.  They did a mediocre job.  I would have provided them the bags if that's what it took.  We tried to deal with it, but they had other clients so why did they need our business.

Great service at a reasonable price. Provided additional minor repairs at no cost. Very helpful on solving dranage problems not related to initial job. Highly recommend.

He was very good. He was very professional and he had the lowest bid, so I went forward with him. I would use his service in the future too.

I contacted Jason via email, and within a few days he was at my house doing the repairs. He was very flexible with my schedule, and arrived on time as promised. His prices were very good, and I was very pleased with the work he did. My sprinkler system had been installed the previous year by Robert from "Cut Above Landscaping and Sprinklers" (www.houstonsprinkler.net) and after he failed to show up twice in March 2011, I found Jason from Newsom Landscaping and Irrigation on Angies List. Robert from Cut Above Landscaping and Sprinklers had promised me when he installed my system 11 months ago that he'd return promptly in I had any problems or needed warranty work performed, and this proved to be not true. He has given me only excuses as to why he hasn't returned, and seems to only care about new customers. His phone quote for my current repairs were TWICE higher than other estimates! I will use Newsom Landscaping and Irrigation for here on! Jason is very professional, knowledgeable and fair with his prices.

I wasn't sure who to call for such a small job in the landscaping category. I chose Newsom from the reviews on Angie's List. I called mid afternoon on Friday and Jason was here on Monday. After pulling the pump, he said it would be a few days for the replacement. Four days later I called to get an estimate on the date to do the repair. I was told the pump was in and Jason would be here that afternoon. He was and the replacement pump was put in very quickly and the fountain is running properly again. Jason was very pleasant and professional. He installed the pump so that it is more easily accessable should any future repairs be needed, rearranged the rocks around the base of the fountain, made sure it was working properly, the reserve was full of water, and adjusted the water flow to my liking. He also offered tips on running my sprinkler system - how long and most benificial time of day. I would definitely call on Newsom again for any work I needed, small or large job.

I never hear fromn him after the initial consultation.

Newsom was the lowest bid by far, was punctual, did a great job, and came back the next day to address one issue (due to our having a difference of opinion on appearance) at no extra charge.
