I hired Ken Payne for painting and replacing outdoor trim and to construct an arch out of hardiplank for a large outdoor window. He not only did what I wanted but he fixed our broken flag pole. He not only replace the wooden trim, he opted to use material that will last a long time because the wood trim was located on the ground. He touched up areas that changed the front of my house and it looks new again. We were so pleased with his work that we hired him on the spot to replace our back deck. One week later we had a beautiful multilevel 850 square foot deck. You won't go wrong hiring Ken Payne he has added a whole new level to the term handyman.

He was worth the money. He is a very nice gentleman to come in your home especially for single ladies. You don’t have to worry about him, he is very polite, professional and he explains everything he is going to do so you don’t get any surprise.

Great quality timely work. Paid attention to what we wanted and did an excellent job. Not the lowest price, but not the highest by far. High quality for the work completed and the price charged. We love the new look he provided to our rooms. The colors are great, refreshing and just what we wanted.

We received a detailed email estimate of each job, which listed materials and labor separately.  Mr. Payne was able to begin the work a few days after I agreed to his estimates.  By sending me an email the day before he was to come, he always acknowledged the approximate time he would arrive, and he was prompt.  After paying for each job after it was completed, he sent us an email invoice for our records.
He used one helper to do the concrete work and two helpers to stain the cedar parts of the deck.  He did the other three jobs himself.  His price was based on an estimate of the time it would take to complete the work and an hourly charge of $50.  He underestimated the time to pressure wash the cedar parts of the deck (it took 4.5 hours instead of 3 hours) and the time to stain all of the cedar parts (he billed us for 14 hours instead of 10 hours).  In fact, the staining actually took about 9 hours, but he also had to pay two helpers; therefore, we agreed to pay the additional $200.
Except for some drops of stain on the deck flooring, and some spaces between tiles in the shower, which did not receive new grout, the quality of the work ranged from very good to excellent (B+ to A), and we were very satisfied with his work.  We plan to hire Mr. Payne again if we need repairs around the house.

What I love about Payne's Home Services is that he's professional, affordable, & always on time, which is rare these days!  He came out and fixed our roof and ended up charging us less than his original quote because it didn't take as long.  He does great quality work and thankful we've found him!

Ken helped me with where to put the bars in each area.  He has installed a lot of these and knew the right places to put the various bars.  Our main concern, or course, is that the bars are installed securely so that if someone does need to grab on they will hold secure.  Ken spoke knowledgeably about the installation process and really made us feel comfortable.  He is very professional.  We will definitely use him again for some other projects -- in fact we have already booked him for another one.  Also, I called him with very little notice to get these installed and he got to me the same day since my elderly mother-in-law is coming and we needed these installed.  Really helpful!

I called them and left a message and later that day Ken returned my call to schedule an appointment. He came out within a two days to give an estimate. Later that night I received an estimate by email and agreed to the price and scheduled the date and time. They were on time and performed all the work without any issues or problems. They were polite and friendly. The job went as planned. The estimate was good and final price was what was quoted. I will definitely hire Payne's Home Services again. I' already have more things around the house for them to do.

One of our neighbors pointed out that after a recent storm their tree was the only thing holding up a large portion of our fence.  We got a referral for Ken Payne's Home Services and decided to call since the previous handyman service we used in the past wasn't responding at all.  Ken returned our call within a couple of hours and was out to our home the next day to review the damage to our fence.  We liked him immediately - he is prompt, personable and very courteous.  We then decided to tack on a few maintenance items around our home along with the fence repair.  That same evening we had a written estimate with a clear scope of work.  His pricing was reasonable so we asked him to place us on his schedule.  Within a week of first contacting him the fence as well as all the items we tacked on were completed.  We are very happy with his service and have already started on a second list of items for him to address in the near future...and would definitely consider him for a larger home improvement project we're considering.  We wouldn't hesitate to recommend him to anyone who needs work around their home!
