Scheduling this was fine and professional, and the guy showed up on time.
However, my wife texted me that this was going to be close to $1000! The breakdown follows (approximates) -
$350 to "rebuild" a leaking faucet (usually, a washer or two don't cost hundreds of dollars!)
$450 to replace the disposal (the leak was from the drain, not the actual unit, and a disposal is about $100 anyway)
The balance was some extended service agreement.
Needless to say we paid the service call - money down the 'drain' - and sent him on his way.
VERY disappointing to be gouged by an Angie's List provider.

"This review is from service 5 years ago, and while the homeowner states Berkeys was the service provider, we have no record of going to this home since 2008. So, it is difficult to provide much additional feedback, but clearly this is not how Berkeys provides service....we would never make a recommendation to replace a water heater that simply was not switched on.....we have tried to contact this homeowner, but again, with this being 5 years old and no record of service at this time, there is not much we can do. WE certainly would appreciate the opportunity to be of service and provide this homeowner with our customary, outstanding service."

Berkeys never charges for estimates for new HVAC equipment, so if we stated that to you, it was in error, and for that we are very sorry. We have left a message with you and if you are still interested, we would be happy to provide you with a no-cost estimate. "We attempted to satisfy this homeowner and we sent a manager out to meet with them after they complained about our pricing. All of the work that we completed for these 17 year old systems was necessary, and we did recommend replacing the units due to age, instead of continuing to invest in repairs. We gave multiple pricing options, but ultimately, this customer believed our pricing was too high for them. We refunded their membership fee prior to this review being submitted. We hope that we can be of service to them in the future, but we also recognize that there are lower cost options available from other companies with different structures, levels of service, warranties, etc."

"Berkeys was purchased by a new owner in 1996 and we are not aware of your problem with the plumbing in your home that was done by the owner in 1985. However, we do apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you. Berkeys has not done new construction since 1996. You called us for service on 7/21/14 to repair a water line to the refrigerator. At 11:15 on 7/21/14 you called us back to cancel the call as you discovered your problem was with the refrigerator and not the water line. We are not sure if you had another company in April of this year take care of your problem, but we have not serviced your home. Please contact us if you have any questions or concerns."
