Jon, the owner, came out to our house last week. He is a very friendly guy. He quoted me a very reasonable price for having all 10 of our trees trimmed and also to plant a 45 gallon Red Oak for us in our front yard. Jon said he would be here at 9 this morning, and he was right on time. The crewof 3 he brought went straight to work. Then, after lunch, a few more guys showed up to help the others trim the tree and help plant the new tree. Every member of his crew worked hard and all day. When they finished, they cleaned up everything, and I mean everything. I honestly could not find one twig or leaf on the ground. They were incredibly thorough and professional. It is hard to find companies like Alamo City Arbor Care these days, so when you do, you appreciate them even more. Jon, his crew, his prices and professionalism are the best I've seen in a long time. Not just in a landscaping company, but in any company in general. Thank you Jon and your crew for an amazing job! Please, if you're needing any landscaping done, call Jon right away! You won't be disappointed.

It went very smoothly. The stump along with roots was much bigger than expected based on the picture I had sent for a quote. The provider was very careful about removing the rocks around the stump and completed the job very quickly and efficiently. He was polite and very professional. He held to the original quote which was very much appreciated.

Have 1.5 acres of land and had it cleared of brush and trees trimmed.  We had a lot of trees and John and his crew did a very nice job.  Having our landscaping done through his company and we are looking forward to the end result. 

We had a tough time finding someone that would come on short notice to remove some trees to prepare site for a building.  We called about 4 companies and Alamo City Arbor Care, Jon Chalker, immediately called us back and although they were busy with other jobs they were able to come and give a very fair price for all the work we needed done and was able to get the job done within a few days.   The men who completed the work were punctual, polite, knowledgeable and raked up all the debris and even took out an extra stump for us at no charge.  When they left, you never knew we had any work done - the place was all cleaned up.  Jon called and checked in with us a couple of times during the process.  Fantastic customer service and very knowledgeable.  If you need some tree work done, you need to call Alamo City Arbor Care - Jon will take care of you.  He will be our first call the next time we need some work done.

Jon came out and gave me an estimate on Tuesday, Aug 5th.  I told him I needed the trees trimmed by the weekend.  He quoted me and told me they would be out on Friday to do the work.  Just as he said, he was there early on Friday and did the job for exactly what he quoted.   My wife commented that she was amazed at how the crew had cleaned up the limbs and twigs.  They put pruning paint on every limb they cut off of my oak trees.   Very professional company and very ethical.  This is the second time I have used them.  I will use them again and highly recommend them to anyone looking to have tree work done.

Called Alamo City Arbor Care in the morning and they were able to come out in the early afternoon of the same day.  It took them approximately three hours to complete the job.  They never stopped working until the job was completed.  I was very pleased with the pride they took in their work.  They cleaned the entire work site so that it was hard to tell they were even there.  I am very pleased with the work they did and would definitely recommend them to my friends and family.

I called and left a message. The owner did call back and set something up for the next day. The next came and went he never showed up so I called again and he did apologize that he got too busy and would come the next day. He said he could be there around 5:30 and when I called he was in traffic but on the way. I explained to him I would be next door if he could call me when he arrived, he said he would but never did. I called and checked outside and he came and went said he had a church function to attend. I was right next door. It would of been a 10 second call. He left me a price. I called him the next day to see when he could take care of the job but he said he would call me back because he was very busy. He never did. About a week and half later someone is calling me saying they are on the way to cut my trees. Well it was one of his employees and I explained to him not too because the owner never called me back to set something else. I ended up with a different company.

We were very pleased with the work and the cleanup thereafter.

I contacted the owner late Thursday (7/31/14) afternoon.  He called me within 30 minutes and set up a time to give me a bid the next day.  I was on a time crunch due to an upcoming city inspection and he went out of his way to make sure services were complete before the deadline.  We scheduled the job for 8/5/14 at 9:00 am.  A crew of 3 arrived early, about 8:40 am and began work almost immediately.  In less than 3 hours all of my trees and some shrubs were trimmed, dead branches cut out and 5 stumps were removed.  I will pass the city inspection with flying colors and I am very pleased to have the trees trimmed and cleaned up, PLUS removal of the ugly stumps left by the previous owner.  The crew was very professional, efficient and did a very good job on the trees and clean-up.   The owner stopped by during the job and then called to follow-up and make sure I was happy.  I was very pleased with this company and will hire them again for any future tree-trimming needs.

Jon and his crew did a great job. He came and a gave me an estimate and was able to do the job three days later. They finished the job within about an hour. They removed all 5 shrubs and grinded the root ball on the larger ones that needed it. They left absolutely nothing at all behind. Jon was very professional and punctual. I would definitely recommend him to anyone for any kind of lawn care.

It went very well. Prompt, courteous, professional. They showed up when they said they would, got the whole job done in a few hours, and followed up to make sure all was as it should be.

They did an excellent job trimming an oak tree in my yard that needed some maintenance.  John is a friendly guy who set up the date and time and the workers were prompt and professional.  I've used them for several years and will continue to call on them.

Fantastic!  Jon and his crew did a wonderful job and we could not be more pleased with the results.  Our trees were in bad shape -- someone had literally butchered them.  Jon's crew came in and the transformation was amazing.   It really opened up our yard and made the space so much cleaner and neat-looking.   Their clean up was so good that, except for our beautiful trees, you could not even tell they had been here.  Now that the trees are trimmed, we have landscaping that we now wish to do and are looking forward to working with Jon on that project as well.

It went well.  I didn't think they could get backyard but they were able to.  They did a good job.  About 99% of the stump was cleaned up.  It looks real good and I can't tell that there was a stump there.  The price was excellent. 

We got A LOT of quotes from 5 different companies that wanted to charge us almost $9,000 to do less work. We went with Alamo City Arbor Care because they not only gave us the best price but worked with us on how to get the most out of our budget. We had only $6,000 to spend and we couldn't budge from that number. Eric Gonzales was our point of contact. He quickly drew up a design that worked perfectly with our backyard but there was no skimping on the materials or the quality of work. This whole process was very stressful and were about to throw in the towel until they came to give us our quote. They told us they could do it for our budget so we went with them. Here is a brief summary of that was done:
-Removal of all vegetation from premises
-Removal of concrete slab
-Removal of old flagstone
-Steel edging for the whole yard
-River rock for nearly entire border of yard
-Decomposed granite patio in back of yard
-Decomposed patio where concrete slab was with large flagstone
-3 Pallets of El Toro Zoysia.

It went great!!  The tree was about 10 feet from the house and 12 feet from a fence right next to a sprinkler head - they made sure nothing was damaged.  Also I have Zoysia grass and they brought in special pads to protect the grass.  The tree is gone and you can hardly tell they were there!  Because the tree was so close to both the house and the fence they could not just cut in down and let it fall.  TIMBER!!   They had to climb high into the tree and take off the limbs individually and then cut the trunk into pieces and lower them to the ground.  The tree was hollow and their chainsaw hit some rocks inside it and broke  They simply replaced the chains and went right back to work.   They had to take the machine that grinds up the stump in to get some parts replaced and Mike was back  exactly when he said he would and completed the job. 

I received quotes from six companies and Alamo City was the best by far. They were 50% less expensive than one quote!. 

Mike and his crew were very professional and courteous. They were here on time, went right to work and cleaned up afterwards.  I also got a $75 Angie's List discount!  If I ever need another tree removed I won't even bother getting quotes --I will just call Alamo City Arbor Care!!

I call on Monday and left a message and Jon called back within a couple of hours and said he was in the area and could give me a quote that day. I have the quote email to me in less than an hour and he said if I wanted they could do the job that day since he had a crew in the area. I agreed and a three man crew was there on time at 4pm. They did a great job of raising the canopy and cleaning up the dead branches. The tree looks great and they did a great job of cleaning up. I plan on using this company in the future.

They asked and responded to requests, and gave good advice.  The trees ended up with a decent canopy but shaped well.  They cleaned up all debris, and left us some cut logs for firewood

Prior to the day that we agreed upon to get the job done, Jon called me to confirm that everything was on schedule.   I talked with Jon about additional work on two other trees (one Oak and another Palm) and he graciously agreed to the work at a very (very) good price.  On the day the work was to be done, Jon's crew showed up with all of the equipment (personnel, saws, shredder, etc.) that would be needed to do a quality and professional job.  They got to work right away and took down those trees in what has to be record time.   Two of the trees were within three feet of my home.   None of the pieces of the trees or debris even so much as touched the house.  That, all by itself, was amazing.   The crew took down the three trees and did the additional work on the on the other two trees in a totally professional manner.  The crew was friendly and very carefully picked up every shred of debris.  When the job was completed, you could not tell that all of that work had been done.  None of the other bushes (or a lamp post right under one of the Palm trees) was disturbed.  Even the lawn did not show any signs that they had done all of this work.  The bottom line is this:  Alamo City Arbor Care did the BEST JOB at the BEST PRICE with a level of QUALITY and CUSTOMER SERVICE that you rarely find anymore.     Everything occurred just as agreed to and the end result was WAY ABOVE my expectations.  After the job, Jon called me to make sure that the job had met my expectations.   One more thing:  One of my Palm trees roots had grown into the plumbing of my lawn sprinkler system, so when the stump was being ground down a sprinkler line was damaged.  Jon repaired the sprinkler line before the crew left for the day.  I give Jon, his crew and this company my HIGHEST RECOMMENDATION for all of your tree care and landscaping needs.  I will surely call him in the future anytime I need any tree and landscaping services.     I'm in my 60's and remember the days when quality customer service was important to companies.  Alamo City Arbor Care PROVIDES the kind of HIGH QUALITY WORK and CUSTOMER SERVICE that us 'old timers' remember.  Now THAT is  RARE!  Call Jon.  He's a very genuine and fine person who will go out of his way to make sure that your tree and landscaping needs are met.
