Alamo City Arbor Care

We've lived here 17 years and over the years I've had several different tree services. This is by far the best work we've ever had. He receives my very highest recommendation. There is not a single thing about the entire process that I would think needs improvement. He takes special care with Angie's List members, and honors the discount. A++++++.

They were excellent. They were thorough and responsive. They scheduled me fairly quickly and came on time. They did a good job of explaining what they were going to do and what they did when they finished. They did a good job of cleaning.

This was one of 2 contractors I called to get an estimate from. I talked to the owner and he said he would call me back and set up an appointment. A week later he called me back and asked if his guy Manuel ever called me back. I told him that I never heard from any one and that I just figured that they had all the work they could handle so I gave the work to another contractor. When he found out that I used Angie's list to find him he wanted to cut the other contractors bid in half just so I wouldn't write about my lousy experience with his company. Competition is a good thing, the cream rises to the top and the bad ones sink. I would never call Alamo City Arbor for anything.

The crew was always on time and work throughout the 3 days the project took to complete. They removed all the branches they cut from our trees and raked the yard of all the minor twigs and leaves that fell during their work. They also cut and stacked the trunks of the trees we had removed into fireplace size firewood. They were very respectful of our property and we are very pleased with the work crew.

They did a very good job. They were out in a hurry and took care of the problem. They cleaned up everything very well. They did honor the estimated price that they had given us.

I called and John came out the same day. He gave me an estimate and the crew was there the next day. It took them 3 days to do everything. They cleaned up and put bird feeders and patio furniture back in place. Done professionally and efficiently.

They were excellent. They showed up when they were supposed to and they did everything they said they were going to do. They are very professional and cleaned up when they left. They even did a little extra. I was very satisfied.

After reviewing pricing, I called them back on Thursday to let them know I wanted to go ahead and have the tree cut down and the stump removed. They came on Friday morning and proceeded to cut down the tree and grind down the stump in about an hour. They removed all tree limbs, stump, and debris and also swept the street and sidewalk. I paid and they were on their way!

Jon came and gave me an estimate, and I called and made an appointment. Three men came, cut the limbs and branches, and cut down the small tree. They then hauled all the limbs to their truck, chopped them up, and took them away. They swept my patio, and the street where their truck was parked. The job was done well, and the cleanup was excellent.

Jon came out July 15th, surveyed the property and gave me a written estimate. I faxed the authorization back to him on the 16th to start the job on the 29th. He called the 27th to see if they could start the next morning (I was also having a bit of landscaping done) so they could get ahead of the landscapers and I agreed. In the course of their work, they discovered one of my huge cedar trees was split down the middle and recommended its removal. We agreed on the additional price and they proceeded. They re-hung the bird feeders and bird houses, completely and thoroughly cleaned up the debris and finished the job in 2 1/2 days.

This was the first time we had used their services. They had the lowest quote, were very quiet, nice and efficient. They came exactly on time and did a wonderful job. They cleaned up everything so well. I would recommend them to anyone.

I left a message with Jon. He called back shortly & made an appointment for giving a bid. A few hours later I accepted the bid & his crew came out & finished, all in the same day. They also did a fine job of cleaning up, the parking lot was left cleaner than they found it.

John's crew of 4 arrived right on time and accomplished their job in a little more than an hour, one fellow sawing and the others dragging the limbs to the driveway. Limb removal was accomplished without any damage to my neighbor's grass or plantings. John's crew brought along a chipper/shredder and decimated the many big limbs in her driveway, again very neatly. They did their job to my complete satisfaction.

WOW! 10:00 Monday morning I decided it was time to give up the three year battle to save a sick magnolia tree. I checked Angie's List and found Alamo City Arbor Care. When I called to get someone to come give me a price John said he was in the area and would come by soon. By 11:00 we were standing in my front yard looking at the tree. Since his crew was working down the street John said he could fell the tree that afternoon and return in a few days to remove the stump. By 2:30 the tree was down and all debris was removed from my yard. At noon Saturday I received a call to see if it was a good time to remove the stump. By 1:00 the stump was history, the yard was raked and I had received instructions on how to proceed to encourage grass to cover the patch.

On our hunt for a good reseasonably priced tree removal company (through the Better Business Bureau), we questioned several companies that were poorly represented and gave extremely high quotes. The best company by far we called was Alamo City Arbor Care. One day service! Excellent employees, responsible owner! Discount included. These folks know their business and provide top notch customer service, hands down. My yard looked great afterwards, they cleared up leaves that was not even a part of the job, too! We highly recommend this company to our neighbors and this web site.

I originally contacted John to get an estimate on installing a root barrier because my LOVELY neighbor planted bamboo and it is encroaching in our back yard. He arrived for the estimate right at the appointed time within a day or two of my call. We were very surprised when John suggested that we DON'T have a root barrier installed because the problem had progressed past a barrier being effective and would be extremely expensive. It's amazing to me that someone was so ethical as to turn down a job and tell me why I shouldn't get it done. He then proceeded to instruct us as to the best way to take care of the problem. I then showed him to another neighbor's hackberry tree that had grown so much as to overhang our yard. We asked if he would completely remove the part that was overhanging. AGAIN, John suggested that we not do that, and offered to properly trim the tree so that it would look better, remain healthy, and still offer shade to our yard without being a nuisance. He could have charged us MUCH more for a complete removal, but convinced us that a pruning would be better. The back yard now looks soooo much better; the hackberry branches are now well over our heads and no longer lean on our fence. He also trimmed another tree of ours to make it healthier. I was very impressed by John's business ethics and would highly recommend him to anyone wanting service of this type. He will also be providing some estimates for cleaning up our 10-acre plot in Natalia. He said he usually offers his customers a daily rate as they can afford it.

They were careful not to make a mess in my neighbor's yard and did not damage any of the new plantings under the trees. They cleaned up the yard. They did a great job!

It went great! John came out the same day I called to give me an estimate and told me everything his crew would do. I was at work when the tree trimming was done. When I came home, everything John said they would do had been done. It looked great and I was very pleased.

Early on the day the work was to be done they appeared and stayed the day until the work was finished, cleaned up, swept and blown. It looks beautiful. I was very satisfied.

They did an excellent job. Even our yard guy commented that the trees looked really good, and that whoever did them did a better job that the last company. I told him it was the same company...ha! I think the reason they look better this time is because we actually had some branches removed and some directional pruning done. Will definitely call Alamo City Arbor Care when it's time to have them trimmed again.

The crew came in early in the morning and were finished with everything by around 3:00. Very efficient workers and the work was immaculate.

I called on a Saturday and John came by within the hour to give me an estimate. He said that they were running a little behind, but that a crew would be able to do the job in a week or so. They came a little over a week later and made short work of a big job. They did an excellent job. Everything looks great.

Service was great. The owner came out to look at the job and provided me with a reasonable estimate. The workers came out on time and VERY professional. They showed up on time and they did the job very well. I felt that the crew was very responsible and did everything I asked, no questions asked. The owner followed up with me upon completion of the job. I am very satisfied.

We were very pleased with the service from the initial call until the job was accomplished. I called four of Angie's top rated tree trimming services. Only two were licensed and insured. Of those two, only Alamo City came to give the estimate the next day. Two days later three trimmers arrived at the appointed time after a courtesy call from the boss to say that they were on their way. They set to work, and their experience was evinced in their efficiency and teamwork in expertly felling the branches then the trunks. They also did a good job of removing the stumps, leaving the mulch behind for us. They stacked the debris neatly on the curb for bulk trash day and raked up all the limbs. It took them about 7 hours, including a short lunch break to complete the job. The boss came by twice during the day to make sure all was going well. My husband is very hard to please when he can't do it himself, and he was completely satisfied with the work. :-)
