This is the 3rd time I have used this company. I was so pleased with the job they did at my house I had them do the trees at another property. As has been my experience, this company arrived on time and completed the job in short order. The clean up was much better than I would have done. Excellent experience.

We were very impressed with Jon's knowledge of trees. Very easy to work with, arrived on time, no unpleasant surprises, everyone worked extremely hard and long to give our neglected trees the trimming and cleaning they deserved, and the cleanup was excellent. They even cut the wood into a fireplace appropriate size for us to use. A few days later I called to tell Jon that one of our fence slats had been broken. He sent his men out to put up a new slat. We will use this company year after year.

Alamo City Arbor Care responds quickly to call for estimate on tree trimming. This job had a lot of mature trees and some limbs were in the electrical lines. Alamo City Arbor Care did a great job pruning all trees and working with the owner. Thanks Jon - Great job

The job went very well. The actual price matched the estimate and Jon's team was prompt, professional and thorough, from take-down to clean-up. They were careful to avoid cable/phone posts on take-down and to preserve the existing turf. The only hitch was an unforeseen circumstance when their chipper had trouble starting. They were able to fix on-site, though the repair extended an estimated 1-hour job to about 1.5 hours. I definitely recommend this company.

I called Jon to give me an estimate regarding the trimming of the trees in my yard. The company had done work previously at my home. Last summer they removed a large oak tree that was leaning on the roof. The crew did an excellent job back then by cutting down the tree with no problems. The yard was cleaned up and wood stacked neatly. So I decided to call Jon again this time to trim the remaining trees. The results are wonderful. The trees were trimmed, moss balls removed, cuts were sealed, all debris was removed. I am very satisfied with the work.

I had used this company 2 years ago. They did a good job then, so my expectations were high. They did not disappoint. John and his crew of 3 showed up as agreed. They cleaned up the numerous live oaks in my backyard and trimmed limbs away from my roof line. The crew climbed through the trees carefully detailing and removing old dead limbs. They were careful with my patio and pool. All cut debris was removed immediately and eventually ground into mulch by a huge machine they brought behind their truck. Their attention to detail and clean up was very thorough. They even skimmed my pool collecting all the little leaves that had fallen in. The tree removal in the front yard was carefully done. The stump grinder machine was positioned and used so that my in-ground sprinkler system was not in jeopardy. Overall a wonderful job.

I began speaking with several Angie's List "A" Rated tree services in late October 2010. I received quotes from all parties. I considered having the tree cut down and calling the city for an out-of-cycle pick-up because it would save money. (I elected to not do this in the end .....) I narrowed my choices to two companies, told each company what I was doing and asked them back for their best possible price. I selected Alamo City Arbor Care not based on price alone (they were more expensive), but also considered all of the "value adds" he (John, the owner) promised would be done - the yard in the work area would be raked and cleaned after the job; the roof would be free of branches, twigs and sawdust; they would help me remove and replace a section of my wooden fence that I was removing to give them direct access to the street (tree was in backyard); all cuttings from the smallest branch to the trunk logs would be chipped and hauled away and the street and my driveway would be clean and debris free before they left. They had an amazing chipper that quickly chewed the LOGS into chips and all of their equipment, from the chainsaws to the chipper and truck, were good quality and worked well. I work in a service industry and I expect a job to be done as I would do it (if I could). The 3 man crew from Alamo City Arbor Care was VERY qualified, they worked hard and fast and the man that actually did the tree climbing and cutting was a real professional. Also, the tree climber/cutter had and used all of the correct safety gear to protect himself from falling and to help lower the cut limbs in a controlled manner. They had to drop this tree (piece by piece) in a small area to protect some small oak trees, to avoid crushing my fence and to protect my neighbor's home. All of the workers were courteous and they did a very good job. I would highly recommend Alamo City Arbor Care for any service that they perform.

Called Jon and he gave an estimate to remove the tree. The owner wanted to know if it could be saved. Jon went back and check it out again and decided that it needed to be removed before it fell down. He was friendly and once give the word to remove the tree did a great job. He cut the tree, hauled off all debris, and ground the stump. Really good job. Would highly recommend his services to anyone.

Got Alamo City's name from reviews on Angie's List. Jon came out to see what was needed. We had just moved into a new home and the backyard had 2 cedar trees we didn't want and one sad little oak tree that we hoped could be saved. Jon gave me an estimate and then came back about a week later and removed all the trees. He also removed a tree in the front yard that had died and some plants that also didn't survive. Alamo City did a thorough job of removing the trees and plants. Jon was very nice to work with. I would definitely use this company again.

Jon came out on a Friday to give me an estimate. He and his crew returned the following Tuesday to perform the work. He cut down a tree that we had in the front for at least 25 years. The tree was in pretty bad shape. He also trimmed several branches from a tree that were hanging over my roof. He also trimmed 2 trees on the side of the house that were very overgrown with the upper branches interfering with service lines over the carport. At my request, he took the mulch from those trees and filled in an area with bushes at the front of the house. He did everything he said he would do at the price quoted. He did an excellent job!

Jon is great! He is so personable and friendly. I've had several people trim my trees in the past, but Jon is the best and I will only use him now. The crew is professional and nice and they did a great clean up job when done. Jon outdoes himself for the price. No question...he is the best!

The crew showed up on time and began work immediately. It was amazing to watch them work. They got up high in the trees and got rid of quite a few dead branches. My husband and I are thrilled with the results. Our back yard looks larger with all the old oak trees trimmed and we finally have some much needed sunlight. I want to add that the clean up job was first class, All the wood was mulched on the spot and there was no evidence left behind. The workers were all very professional and answered all our questions. We contacted Alamo City Arbor Care on Saturday afternoon. On Sunday afternoon they came to give us an estimate. We agreed on the price and on Monday morning they arrived at the appointed time and started work. They performed the work exactly as they said they would. We were extremely pleased.

Project went fantastic! First, John Chalker came by personally to scope out the project and discuss what would be done. We walked the entire yard and he offered suggestions (I tend to get carried away when spending this kind of money, so want my money's worth). John was able to convince me that in certain cases we shouldn't take off more limbs than necessary (you can always cut more, but you can't put them back on .... good advice!). On the day of service, John had a family emergency, but called to tell me his crew and supervisor were on the way. They showed up ON TIME with all the equipment they needed. Scott, the crew supervisor, was extremely polite and conscientious. He accommodated all of my requests ... and, he worked as hard as the crew. These guys climb way up in the trees with chain saws hooked on their side. They definitely knew what they were doing. And, at my "seasoned" age, I'm no longer going to do what these guys were capable of doing. They worked hard and continuously (well, they took a small lunch break to reinvigorate ... no sense in anyone getting hurt). They brought along a stump grinder and a huge chipper, so all the limbs, brush, etc. were gobbled up and then trucked away at the end. I have no complaints ... my house and property looks significantly better thanks to John, Scott and the guys. Great job .... if you read this far in my comments, HIRE THEM ... you'll be glad you did!

Very responsive to estimate request, crew was very professional, plenty of men to do the work, cleanup was good. This large job was done quickly (about 4 hours).

With a lot of trees in San Antonio down due to a storm their response was quick and they removed the very large tree and hauled off all debris. Great job would recommend them anytime.

Excellent experience. Prompt phone response, same day estimate, service done a few days later. Workers were all professional and seemed quite experienced. They exceeded my expectations. Total cleanup of the trimmings and went the extra mile to clean up some existing dead brush on the side of the house. We will absolutely be using Alamo City Arbor Care again.
