Alamo City Arbor Care

Our 20 foot Pine in the front yard decided it couldn't hold on for another Texas summer so it was time for it to go. I called Alamo City Arbor Care on 8/10 and Jon personally did our estimate the same day. He told me that the tree was going to be a relatively easy job so he was going to charge me the minimum of $325 to take it down, grind the stump, and haul it off. While he was here I asked him about trimming our Oak in the back yard that had gotten close to the house and needed a lot of dead wood trimmed off. He said he could do both jobs for $400 and I agreed that sounded like a great price. Jon, Scott, and their team were able to do the job the very next day. They were professional and polite. They were also very mindful of the mess they made, working carefully to not drop anything in my neighbors yard. When they left the place was spotless like they had never been here, except of course I was missing a tree. Great job done by Alamo City Arbor Care!

This was the best tree trimming experience we have ever had! We have several very large trees in our yard. We got an estimate for grooming of the trees which really needed it. The estimate came within a few hours of our phone call and the service was done 3 days later! Very punctual and professional! The crew had the utmost respect for our lawn and left our property cleaner than it was before they came. They were very friendly and did an excellent job with the trees. They look amazing! We will definitely be calling them again for maintenance and upkeep. The price was very reasonable, great experience!

Everything went smoothly. I asked for an estimate on Friday, and they did the work the following Monday.

The work crew arrive on time at 9:00 AM. The job required two trucks, a wood shredder, a 16 ft trailer and a machine to dig up the tree roots. Each crew member began gathered the materials needed in beginning the job. The crew worked without any delay. They did not stop until noon, when they took a short lunch break. At all times they took care in handling the fallen tree limbs. At no time did I witness any carelessness. The crew was very professional and I could not have asked for a better job. I would use them again and recommend them highly to anyone needing tree removal.

I was pleased with my first experience with Alamo City and hired them to also remove 5 cedar trees. These particular trees were located in difficult areas -- 3 were leaning towards the house and a propane tank, 1 was next to and above a large playground set and the other was tightly wedged between a guest house and power lines -- and I did not feel comfortable tackling them alone. Jon's crew did a great job of bringing down these trees without causing any collateral damage. Several required rope work where the cutter climbed into the tree and starting severing limbs from the top down so the debris would fall straight down and not topple into the house, power lines, etc. Afterward, Jon also used a large piece of equipment to grind four cedar stumps (15" to 30" across) that were located in the yard. He took them down several inches below grade so that I'll be able to fill the holes with dirt and have grass grow across. I will call Jon / Alamo City for my future tree service needs.

I would definitely recommend getting a bid from this company to everyone I know! I really liked what I read about Alamo City Arbor Care on Angies List and decided to contact Jon Chalker about our 48 year old Ash tree that needed lots of TLC to keep her going for a few more years. He came over and told me what was necessary to make the old girl look good again. Removed 1 large limb that had a hole through it and extended over a 2nd story roof. Cut several medium size limbs hanging too low and every dead branch and ugly knob throughout the tree. I was very worried about our sprinkler system and yard lights but was delighted to know that everything with weight would be lowered with ropes and absolutely no damage would occur. To top it all off, every bit of debris was taken off the property by his special mulching machine, the yard was raked to remove even the littlest of twigs and would you believe that even the sidewalk and street were swept clean with a blower! If anyone had driven by after his marvelous men had left, you would have not even known they had been here except for some random sawdust at the base of the tree!! This will be my #1 tree company to call in the future because Mr. Chalker knows his business and did everything promised (and more). His wonderful, hard working crew were also knowledgable about what they were doing and I never had to worry about anything because of the total safety and professionalism they demonstrated on the job at all times. One more reason - THE PRICE WAS GREAT TOO!!!!

One of the limbs had a large crack and could possibly fall onto the fence due to the expected high winds within a few days time. Their schedule was already full for the next day so Jon scheduled an emergency service for us and had his crew(of 4 men) at my house within 2 hours working overtime into the night just so no further damage or expense would occur, plus they cut a limb from another tree and several other dead branches. They finished all the work within 1 hour! Great price, great service, team working overtime -amazing! I've already let my neighbors know what a great job they did and even showed off their work. They were very impressed!

Alamo City Arbor Care did the job they said they would. John was personable and very interested in meeting the needs of the customer along with providing his professional recommendations. I am pleased with the finished product, especially how clean Alamo City Arbor Care left my property. Actually, they left it better than when they first arrived! I hate rating price because it's very subjective. You do get what you pay for, and I rate the value of the work performed and customer service very high.

The team showed up first thing in the morning and completed the work by early afternoon. Excellent work. They were courteous and professional.

John’s crew did an excellent job taking these trees down and grinding their stumps without so much as touching the fence or the storage room. They also did a good job hauling and cleaning up the debris.

From the start ; with the estimate they were polite and they handled themselves in a professional manner this continued throughout the whole job. There was good communication; It was explained how the job was going to be done in order for it to meet my requirements . The methods they used were of safety and caution when trimming the trees and lowering the branches down. I am pleased with the results, they did a very good job. I would use their services again, I would suggest their services to friends and family. Overall it was a good experience.

A great job by Alamo City Arbor Care. John was onsite within an hour, charged me his minimum price, and quickly and cleanly removed a fallen tree from one of my properties. He also went the extra mile (literally) by driving acros town to meet me afterward to receive payment and give me some free tree advice for another property. John seems like a genuinely nice guy, very professional, and I'll certainly use Alamo again in the future.

I used this company a year ago to trim the trees in my backyard. Recently, I had a large portion of a tree come down at night and cause minor damage to a neighboring fence. Spoke with Jon the next morning. He was very courteous and was at my house within an hour or so. He looked at the situation, gave the price and services provided and scheduled a crew. The crew arrived promptly, took care of the downed tree and an additional low hanging limb of another tree and cleaned the work areas afterwards. I was very satisfied again with Alamo City Arbor Care and will continue to recommend this company going forward.

Overall an excellent job. Mr. Chalker was very professional, courteous, and had his staff perform job as described above. Not only was there attention to detail, but excellent workmanship to include exceptional customer service. I would highly recommend to my friends and acquiantances.

John came and gave us a bid which was the lowest out of the three estimates we received. They were very prompt and did exactly what we asked. They even cleaned up after themselves. This was really an excellent job.

John and his Team from Alamo City did a great job on our yard. While we have small yard, we do have a lot of trees and bushes to care for. He evaluated each and every tree (recommended hand watering) and made the recommendations on what needed to be done. Based on those recommendations I decided to go with his team to complete the job. He really showed that he cared about maintaining a balance within the tree and also not to create stress on the trees. The team was out on time and I was impressed with the entire team. They seemed to take their time in making sure they are going after the right areas and not just cutting to cut. John made sure to followup with a phone call to make sure that I was pleased with the work. And only after I was pleased with the work did he secure the payment. Well needless to say the team did an excellent job and I highly recommend John and his Alamo City Arbor Care team.

Alamo City Arbor Care is a quality company with excellent customer service. The staff is both friendly and informative. And their speed is unmatched. I was astonished with how fast they worked. And yet, they do not not sacrifice quality for speed. They went above the call of duty. They were able to answer all my questions and make timely suggestions when warranted. Simply stated, my expectations were surpassed. If you appreciate a high level of professionalism and fast results, then Alamo City Arbor Care is the only way to go.

I recommend Alamo City Arbor Care to anyone needing tree service. I called Jon at ~2:00 PM and he was at my house for an estimate in < 45 minutes. They had time to do the job the same day and by 5:30 PM Jon and his crew had removed the offending tree limbs, cleaned up my backyard and were on their way to the next job! Jon even trimmed a Crepe Myrtle in my front yard for free. Talk about prompt, courteous service! You can't go wrong with this tree service.

I highly recommend Alamo City Arbor Care Tree Service to anyone who needs tree service. When I came home this evening, the entire tree was gone including the stump and some roots that were exposed. They did an excellent clean up job too! Jon also met with me on a Saturday morning to give me an estimate. This was extremely helpful because I work during the week. It is great to see a company that exhibits excellence in all they do (from the initial point of contact to job completion).

I called Alamo City Arbor Care early on a Monday morning to request an estimate. I gave a general description of the work I needed and asked if it would be possible to complete the project within two weeks before renovation of the house began. I didn't want to waste their time getting an estimate if they couldn't do the work before then. Jon assured me that the work could be done and he came out and gave me the estimate a couple hours after I called. The price was very reasonable considering the amount of work required, so I accepted the estimate. Jon told me he would have a crew out first thing Tuesday morning to begin the work. A couple hours later, right before noon, he called back and asked if they could start the work that afternoon as he unexpectedly had a crew available then. So the work actually began a day earlier than I had anticipated. Given my time constraints that worked out to my advantage. They had the three mesquite trees down by the end of Monday. Tuesday morning a crew that was very experienced in large tree removal came to complete the work. In addition to being very large (and dying) it was located between the main house and an outbuilding with little room to spare and over hung the utility lines. The crew did a superb job getting the tree down with out the slightest damage to anything surrounding it. By the end of the work day Tuesday, all the trees were down, trimmed and the stumps were ground. Wednesday morning they completed the job in about an hour with a grapple truck to lift, load and haul off the the very large pieces of tree trunks. Since the house is going to have a complete exterior (and interior renovation, I wasn't concerned about having a complete yard cleanup, but when Alamo City Arbor Care completed the project, they did such a thorough cleanup, other than the mulch that remained as fill where the trees were removed, it was impossible to tell that major tree work had been done. I am completely satisfied with Alamo City Arbor Care's work and am looking forward to having them do landscaping work when the renovation construction is complete late this fall.

The job went very well. They showed up promptly, and performed all the trimming and landscaping quickly.

He came out on a Saturday and gave me an estimate, I told him to start as soon as he could. His team came out on Wednesday removed the tree and root; filled in the hole left behind by the roots. This is the 2nd time I use Alamo city Arbor Care; I have been pleased with their work and professionalism. I will use them in the future.

John came out to give me an estimate on the next available day for me after I called. I needed oak braches removed above the pool and the house, and I did not feel confident that I be able to successfullly remove those on my own without risk to life or property. John suggested that I purchase the whole crew by the hour instead of buying just the ala carte services. I agreed to do this, and becuase the crew worked so quickly on my priority needs, then had plenty of time left for bonus pruning. The crew of 4 came with all the right equipment, including a truck-towed hi-capacity chipper/shredder (so that I could keep the mulch), Stihl chainsaws and wood-handled pole saws. Two of the guys were skilled climbers high into the trees with ropes to get to the higher pruning area, while the other 2 managed the cleanup on the ground. They worked well with each other and were very productive. The trees look much bettter now, and allow more light into some of our darker rooms. They were very careful to avoid damaging continuing items like the pool fence, the house and other trees. I feel like I got a lot of work done for the money and that the work was well done. We are very pleased with the result.

The yard looks great with the trees trimmed and shaped. Exceeded expectations.

Came to give estimate same day as called. Heard what my desires were and gave suggestions to better the outcome, most of which we accepted. The estimate was less than we had paid for similar work about three to four years ago. Scheduled work for following week. Arrived on time with crew of about five in two trucks, one a shredder. Explained work to them in my presence and got them started. They were joined by another crew member later. They completed the job in about four hours. Last guy out was the one who joined them later and he trimmed a few more limbs that I mentioned with out a sigh or squawk. Clea up was great, job was great, and price was great. Choose this firm for your work!
