We were extremely pleased. The personnel were friendly and competent. The crew arrived on time. The work was performed as contracted. The cleanup was excellent. I would highly recommend Alamo City Arbor Care to others. I will definitely use them in the future.

OUTSTANDING!!! My lawn has never looked better. Trees have never looked better. John, the owner, and his crew came on the day promised and worked steady to get the job done. The crew was friendly, professional and showed pride in their work. I had to wait a few days, seemed like a lot longer, for John to schedule the work I wanted done, but he was up-front and said he didn't want to over schedule his crews and make promises he couldn't keep. There are firms that promise to do it right now and those that promise to do it right. Alamo City Arbor Care does it right. I'll take right over right now every time after dealing with John and his crew.

Jon and his crew did a super job. They trimmed about 18 trees of various sizes and they left my property clean and free of all debris. Since I couldn’t be home when he did the job, he was flexible by taking my payment over the phone. Jon and crew, thank you. George C.

We are so pleased with the work done by Alamo City Arbor Care that we are contracting them to landscape, to native plants and lanscaping, our entire back yard. Our discussions with Jon Chalker to date show that he knows the proper way to plant trees and install the landscaping and will do all of his work by the proper procedures (very important when selecting and planting large Mountain Laurel for example). Based on the work that was done by the tree service side of the business we are very comfortable having them take on this larger task. This project will be evaluated and posted upon completion. We are confident that it will be another "happy customer" story.

John had his team on the job immediately pulling weeds, trimming bushes, and digging up tons of little hackberry trees. They finished the job in record time and the yard looks wonderful. His team was very professional, thorough and polite. I definitely recommend John and his team to everyone.

I called John on Tuesday morning for an estimate. Because we were located in Schertz, he was able to provide me an estimate within the hour. That same morning, we made the decision to use his company and he had his team on the job by 12:00 pm. His team finished the job within three hours. Excellent service, very professional, friendly, and thorough. I would highly recommend his company to everyone.

Jon sent his 3-man crew on the date promised. The guys got to work and did a really great job! One thng that made this company an easy call back: when done - this company REALLY cleans up. There is no trace that they have been here. I will use Alamo City Arbor Care again.

I was looking for a landscaper to make my back yard a beatiful retreat. We had our house built about 5 years ago and never landscaped. We have several acres but only landscaped inside the fence where the pool is. This is still a large area.. I met with Jon about a week before he started the job to get an estimate. He was prompt and professional. I have no idea about landscaping and plants but told him I wanted something that would stand up to heat and drought that would be easier to care for than the "jungle" we had in the back yard. Jon worked within my budget and came up with a plan for the back yard. Jon and his crew started on Monday the entire crew was professional and courteous. They cleaned up everyday before they left. It took 5 full days to complete the project.. (it was a large job) They worked in the heat ,cold and rain. Hardest workers I have seen in a long time. The project was finished yesterday and it is more beautiful than I imagined it would be. I Can't wait for the sunshine to come out so I can sit out in my back yard relax and just stare at the wonderful space they created. I called 3 other landscapers to get estimates. One came out the same day as Alamo City Arbor Care and I still have not heard back from them. The other one was too busy to come out for over 3 weeks. Oh well you snooze you lose. I did several weeks of research before deciding to call a landscaper and I feel that the work that was performed and price was excellent. I am am one very happy customer and would recommend Alamo City Arbor Care!

I got the call at 8:00 that the crew was on the way. They were here at 9:00 and left by 11:30. The two men went right to work and cleaned up after they finished and left the area better than when they arrived.

Their clean up was unbelievable. You could not tell I have had all the work or the trim on the tree once they were done, they just did not leave anything. I would use them again in the future.

We called Alamo City based on ratings given in Angie's List. The owner showed up on time and gave a fair estimate for trimming, shaping, and balancing 12 mature oaks and a 60 foot long, 15 foot high red-tip hedge, plus threw in the pulling up of some hedges that had died--at no extra charge. This was not the lowest bid, but I certainly got my money's worth. His crew showed up on time two days later; worked very effeciently, and did a great job--the whole job only took a 1 1/2 days (we've had other tree trimming crews take twice as long for just the oaks). They were polite, professional, and listened to my wife's concerns and accommodated her wishes. The entire lot was cleaned up after all the cutting and trimming was complete. The trees look great--this was money well spent.

They were great. One of the best companies I have ever had the pleasure of working with. From the first moment I spoke with Jon everything went smooth and Jon did a phenominal job with customer service and attention to detail. It was worth every penny. Every night Jon called to give us an update on how things went today and what he anticpated getting done the next day. In fact, 30 days later I just got a call from Jon just checking in to make sure all is still good. His estimate was spot on. Even if it wasnt i get the sense that he wouldnt have charged us more unless he had to. That is something I can appreciate and respect. Jon picked up the ball and ran with it and we got everything we wanted plus more. Quality of work was great as well. The rockwall has had some serious rainstorms to fight with over the last 4 weeks. It has not budged one inch and it looks great. Our neighbors wall fell 3 times over the last 2 years after rainstorms, so of course we had some concerns. Jon did a great job our wall is solid, especially after the down pours we have had. One very cool thing to note, to keep on schedule, on the first day a heavy rain started around 1pm. The guy working on the rockwall stayed and worked for 4 hours thru the heaviest rain San Antonio has had in 2011. It was awesome. I would use Jon in a heartbeat! Jons excellent customer service and follow thru reassured me that i will never let my membership with Angies list go. If i get that kind of level of service thru Angies list it would be insane for me to give up my membership. In fact, we are planning more work done in the back yard this summer and Alamo City is the only place I plan to call.

Jon's crew did an excellent job. They scraped area to be treated, placed paver walk attractively and functionally, laid 3 pallets of grass, and hauled off rocky trash dirt. They worked hard, in the rain or drizzle, for 2 days, and I am quite pleased. I hired them on the basis of previous good work in trimming trees.

Excellent, start to finish. Jon is incredibly responsive, unlike many other providers in this industry. An email or call never went for more than a few hours without being returned. John and his crew were top-notch--intense focus on quality and my satisfication. Cleaned up everything, did such a great job that 3 neighbors have already commented on how great the work looks and one is considering hiring Jon's team.

We contacted the Company mid morning on Monday, John came out to give us an estimate later in the day. He was courteous and knowledgeable, listened to what we wanted and made suggestions (that were 'healthier' for the oak tree) . We rang him back Tuesday morning to say we wanted him to do the job and he said he would ring later to give us a time schedule. He rang back to tell us he would be starting the job on Wednesday about lunch time. The guys were here about noon, they worked really well, were very courteous, careful, efficient and cleaned up as they went. They were finished by the end of business on Wednesday, We were very happy with the job they did and would certainly recommend the company and would certainly have them back in the future. Alamo City was easy to work with from the beginning to end. Estimate was done in a speedy manner with project completed without any problems. Jon and his crew were professional in their interactions with us and explained how to care for the new tree and shrubs and encouraged us to call them if we had any questions or concerns. Area clean up was perfect. They did a great job and we recommend them!

They were very easy to work with and gave us price estimates a la carte so that we knew what we were spending for what. Even the helpers were both knowledgeable and friendly. When we had a minor issue with the work it was promptly addressed the very next day.

I found Alamo City Arbor Care on Angie's list and was impressed with the number of glowing reports from past customers. I called Jon and he agreed to come by in a few hours, look over the situation, and give me an estimate. He was right on time, quickly sized up the complicated situation and gave me his estimate, which included removing a large pile of brush stacked in the back yard. He told me it would be a "delicate operation", but he felt his crew was competent enough to get the tree down without interrupting our utilities. We agreed he would start the job the next morning. Jon and his crew were right on time the next day. He pointed out the complexities of the situation and told them how he wanted them to proceed to avoid bringing down any of the cables. In three hours, the job was done. Jon had looked around and pointed out to me that we had a smaller dead tree in the yard that ought to be removed and that there was also a large tree branch putting stress on our fence; he offered to remove the two at no additional cost. To sum things up, Jon knows what he is doing, hires competent people, charges reasonable prices, and in my case delivered exactly what he promised! When they finished, all debris had been removed and the work area was raked out and left looking very neat. I still can't believe they removed the tree without bringing down any of those lines, and will be calling them the next time I need any kind of tree service.

They were punctual, and the trees look great. They cleaned up and it left our yard nice and neat. I would call them again to continue caring for our trees.

I called Alamo City Arbor Care on 27 Jan 2012. I spoke to Jon about a very small job to cut back branches for the installation of a new HD satellite dish that required access to 3 satellites instead of the one required for our current dish. He was able to fit me in the same day for a quote. Jon came out, looked at all my trees (28 oakes & cedar elms), discussed what had to be done for the dish and made an tenative appointment for the next day if his crew was able to finnish their scheduled jobs by 3pm (on a Saturday). The next day at 2:30pm his crew leader called to ask if it was ok to come by and take care of our tree. At 2:45 Jon called to say his crew was finished with the scheduled jobs and would contact me. I let him know they already had and were on the way. The crew came, took care of the tree and some other branches over the pool and around the yard. They cleaned up all of the branches and leaves in the back and the front sidewalk and street. I highly recommend Alamo City Arbor Care for their responsiveness, punctuality and professionalism. Jon is friendly and helpful and his crew is professional and tidy.

My husband contacted and Jon responded immediately. Jon understood our needs and listened to what we wanted. His team came as expected and did a great job. Jon checked in the evening to make sure everything was OK.
