This is an excellent company. The work entailed removal of a fallen tree caused by a storm. It was estimated to be 180 to 200 years old. When I opened the door, then first words I heard were "I'm sorry for your loss." spoken by the owner. Workers arrived the next day on schedule and spent about four hours cutting and removing the tree and clean up..

Jon, the owner estimater, returned my call promptly and gave us a well informed and adequate estimate. He knew that we need the work done qucikly and accomdated us on the same day. The workers were very kind and did whatever we needed. They worked constantly and expertly. Jon called afterwards to make sure we were satisfied. We were. We would use them again and again. Great company!

I recently moved into a new house discovered that the previous owner had neglecting the massive pecan tree in the back yard. The foliage was interfering with the power lines, and after one rainy day, the tree dropped several branches, including one in the neighbor's yard. Alamo City Arbor Care had someone out at the house a few hours after I called. Jon called me back with a quote, and we arranged to have the work done that day. The crew arrived punctually and got right to work. They swiftly removed several large branches and many smaller branches. When they were done, they ground up the branches and blew out all the leaves, twigs, and debris from the yard. Overall, they did a good job in a timely matter at a competitive price.

We'll definitely have Tim and Jon back for the front. Our neighbors are incredibly pleased (and a bit envious) of our new back yard. It's a lovely place to entertain or just lounge and suits our lifestyle perfectly! Thanks Tim, Jon, Mike, Dustin and the rest of the guys. You are truly artists!

We were replacing two small trees in the front of our yard and needed to have the existing trees removed. John came out the week before to give us an estimate and said he could do the work the following week but didn?t commit to a date. We needed to have it done by end of day Wednesday because the new trees were schedultd to be planted on Thursday. I called John on Tuesday to see whether or not I would need to reschedule the installation of the new trees. He said that he would be able to come by the next day and he did. Not only did they cut down the old trees, dying red tips, but they also dug out the stumps to make it easier for the new trees to be planted. They were very professional. I look forward to having John and his crew come back when it is time to trim the oaks in our yard.

They did a great job and the tree has a beautiful canopy. I wanted to be sure the tree limbs did not get in the way of my neighbor's home. They cleaned up everything and hauled it away.

John and his crew did a truly amazing job. They worked a very long, full day, and the result was nothing short of perfect. All of the crew were consummate professionals. I would hire them again in an instant.

John and his crew did a great job. We gave him the "rough sketch" we had in our minds, and he ran with it. They definitely gave our front yard a lot of great color and a nice variety of "shrubberies". I would recommend and use again in the future.

John and his guys did a magnificent job pulling out three dead palms in my backyard. While there was an initial misunderstanding regarding scheduling, John was very attentive, and really helped me. He even calling me when he was out of town on vacation to arrange the service visit. He had three guys come out to initially cut down the palms, and then another gentleman come a few days later to grind out the stumps. A small ramp was required to grind out the final stump, and John purchased the ramp without raising the price on me. I think most contractors would have tried to stick it to me with an "unanticipated expense," but John didn't. I would use them again in a heartbeat, and I recommend them unequivocally.

What they designed turned out to be beautiful. It has allowed us to turn off about half the sprinkler system, will certainly redirect the water runoff, and maintenance looks to be minimal.We wanted the price to come in at about $10 - $11,000. However, when we saw their design, we understood why the cost was higher than we expected. All in all, we are satisfied with the price of the job. It was just a surprise when we first got the estimate. As for puntuality and responsiveness, they we here exactly when they said they would be here and stayed into the evening working. The days they were here the weather was in the 100s but they never stopped. They finished on time.I can't say enough about Jon and Mark. They were very professional and personal. If we had a question, they were right there with the answer. If we had a change we wanted, it was no problem. It was a pleasure to work with them. I would certainly go back to them for any more work we needed done.

Owner of company came and gave me an estimate. He suggested taking one of the trees out because it was too large for the space intended and had served its purpose. I chose to have both of the trees pruned and the really large tree taken out at year's end because it provides shade in our current extreme temperatures. At the end of the year when the largest tree is taken out, Alamo City Arbor Care will plant another tree with projected growth sized for the narrow front yard when we can find and agree on a suitable variety for this area. I might add that these two trees have been pruned by other professionals yearly but dropped limbs frequently so it is time to replace with another variety for shade. The crew was professional, hard working and completed the job in a timely manner.

Jon provided an assessment of the issue and gave expert advice as to what species to keep and what to discard. He accurately described the work to be done in detail and how the house would be framed once the work was completed. His team was very professional and quickly trimmed or removed the trees and bushes. The result was incredible, better than we had hoped for and pleasing to the eye. You pay a little more for their service, but the final result is worth it. One of the few companies in the San Antonio area that responds to phone calls (even when on vacation) and keeps in touch with you until the job is complete. We will definitely be using them again.

We would highly recommend this company. A storm knocked a large hickory tree down during last night's storm. We called Alamo City Arbor Care at 8:30 this morning and the owner, Jon Chalker, was at our home within the hour. By 1:00 this afternoon the tree was completely gone. The workers were extremely polite, courteous, helpful, competent, FAST and professional. They had the proper tools and we were very comfortable that they worked in a very safe manner. Get the iced tea brewed while you're waiting for them to arrive! They work very hard and will appreciate it greatly :)They were also very helpful about helping us understand our rights with our homeowner's insurance and offered to speak to the insurance company on our behalf if needed. We felt that the work was done at a fair price considering the size of the job. Only wish we could hire them to repair the damage to the fence and house! We will definitely be calling them again for future tree care.

Crew arrived on site as scheduled and performed the work just as we had requested. All debris was hauled away and cleanup was immaculate.

Everything was completed as required and I was totally satisfied.

I called John of Alamo City. He picked up the phone right away and I requested an estimate for pruning, trimming, weeding and cleaning leaf debris from my landscaped yard of appoximately 3/4 acre. John indicated he would stop out as soon as it stopped raining. A full day after it quit raining, and after I'd received no phone call back, I had to call him back myself to find out if he was still coming, but he was able to make it that night. I was disappointed though that he then gave me an astronomical estimate of over $1200.00 to do a job that two other landscapers estimated in the 500s to do, so either he is either WAY better than anybody else, way overpriced, or he just didn't want this particular job. In any case, I didn't feel I could pay him twice over to trim trees and weed, so I had to go with someone else.

This is the second time that Alamo City Arbor Care has worked on our trees. They are professional, on time , fair in pricing and do excellent work! I would recommend them to anyone an ytime!

Amazing service! Came on time to give an estimate and we live pretty far out of town. Called and showed up the date agreed upon with a full crew including special equipment he had to rent. The crew was polite and considerate. The job was completed quickly and efficiently.

I called Jon Chalker on Tuesday to set up a time when he could come give me an estimate. He was able to meet me the next day which worked out perfect. We walked the yard front and back as I told him exactly what I wanted. The quote was a little higher than I had hoped but I decided not to waste my time calling other companies out for quotes. Jon is an honest guy and I trusted him, not a feeling you always get after just meeting someone. He said he could have his crew out the next day but I asked if he could come on friday because I had the day off and preferred to be there while the work was being done. Unfortunately, he already had a job for friday so they came on wednesday while I was at work. When I got home from work I was so happy. I could actually see the house behind all of the trees. The bushes and trim they removed made my backyard look three times as big. Unfortunately, they accidentally knocked down my gate post. It was already very loose and I am sure it didn't take much for it to fall. Joh called me to tell me what happened and assured me he would be back to fix it. I was surprised by this. I thought that he would tell me that it wasn't his responsibility because it was not in good condition in the first place. Needless to say, I was impressed. He came back twice to make sure it was fixed and now I have a gate that is stronger than it was before. Thank you so much Jon.

We called Alamo City Arbor Care because we had had good results using them previously. Jon Chalker responded within hours and gave me a fair estimate for doing the work. Later that day he had a crew on site. They removed both trees, ground up the stumps, and left the areas completely cleaned up of all debris. I would definitely use this business again for tree removal. They know what they are doing, work quickly and efficiently, and clean up after themselves.

My husband and I had spoken to Jon Chalker in February 2012 and got an estimate for tree removal. I e-mailed Mr. Chalker in June 2012 to let him know we were ready to have the 4 trees removed (after all the critters had moved out) and they were here the next day! We had 4 trees removed, stumps ground – 1 tree planted – the mulch was left for us to use, and this was all done in 1 DAY!! They arrived right on time, they were professional, courteous, cautious and careful of other trees and plants and, thouroughly cleaned up behind themselves. I will hire them again! Get ready Jon, and your Alamo City Arbor Care crew, my next project is almost ready for you!
