Alamo City Arbor Care

Alamo City Arbor Care did an excellent job. They were very professional and coureous. We agreed on a date for service, and when I came home from work that evening everything was done and looked terrific. I was extremely pleased with the results and thought the price was very good considering the amount of work that had to be done. I would definitely recommend Alamo City Arbor Care!

We were very pleased with Alamo City Arbor Care's work. We got estimates from two providers with strong reviews, and the two were within $20 of each other. Given that, we went with Jon's company mostly because his business is in our neighborhood. Jon is no nonsense -- he used his years of experience and record of performance for the "sell" versus trying to convince us with technical terminology and high gloss paperwork. The work done is top-notch to our eyes. Two things were particularly impressive -- they took the canopy of a very large and twisted live oak up one level to where it needs to be and succeeded in keeping it looking natural and balanced, and they transformed two ligustrums that looked like awkward hedges into neat little trees. He made the recommendation, and we definitely agree with his eye. The more mundance work looks good too. The crew restored proper clearance over our street, and all the trees were cleaned up/trimmed well. It's very likely we will use Alamo City Arbor Care again when we need tree work done.

They arrived on time, were very professional, and cleaned up after themselves. The only issue was that I had to supervise a bit more intently to make sure the job was done the way that I wanted. In the end, it was done to my specifications.

It went very well. John was quick to respond and was able to give me an estimate the same day. The work he did on the Oak tree looks great and the Weesatch tree is completely transformed and looks great! They hauled everything away and the cleanup was so thorough you would never know they were there.

Jon, the owner, was the only tree service that returned my phone call when I was trying to find someone to pick up some brush. He told me he would not be able to pick it up for another week but would come by and take a look at what I had. Jon came by the very next day and gave me a price which I accepted. He called me in less than a week and said he had a crew in my area. He sent a three man crew by and they went straight to work. They were able to take care of all of the brush and trees in around an hour and did a good job of cleaning up afterward. i would definitely use them again!

John came by and gave us an estimate. He was on time, friendly and professional. We wanted to add grass to the front yard. We moved into this house and the front was completely crabgrass and dirt. A quote was given and we accepted. They showed up first thing on the morning we scheduled and were done by the end of the day. The yard looked great. Edges were clean and to the shape we requested. I really loved the work they did and would highly recommend them.

Excellent customer service and quality of work; they trimmed numerous large trees to beauty and removed three semi-large trees with stump coring/drilling/removal. Quality of work excellent as well as clean up. I plan to call them back for more work. Reasonable cost for amount and quality of work.

John was very professional and timely in returning our calls and getting us on the schedule to get the work done. He walked us through the entire process, listening to what we wanted to have done. The estimate was higher than what we had initially expected to spend, but definitely in line with the amount of work that they ended up doing. He didn't try to talk us into any extra work, but he did make several recommendations for things that needed to be done to get our trees and shrubs back under control. The work done and the cost for the services were exactly as estimated. When we need to have more work done in the future, I will contact Alamo City Arbor Care again.

My property is totally covered with trees. I'd guess 25 or so. House has been here since 1987 and only minimal tree trimming had ever been done. I called Jon for an estimate and he came out right away and walked around the property with me and quickly provided me with an estimate. He let me know they were pretty busy but that he could have a crew out within 2 weeks. Two days later, he had a cancellation and they were here working on my trees. It is unbelievable how quickly and efficiently his team gets the job done. I had requested some firewood and I got even more than I asked for. That pretty much sums up the entire experience with Jon, Mike and Alamo City Arbor Care - More than I asked for! You cannot possibly go wrong. He has a large, hard working crew. They get the job done right and they get it done fast...and they clean up their mess. My driveways and sidewalk looked better when they left than before they got here.And the trees? OMG! They look spectacular! And no more worries about all the dead branches hanging over my roof waiting to fall. Call them.I guarantee you won't be sorry.

Mr. Chalker came out and gave me an estimate. Approximately one week later his crew showed up and trimmed a large live oak, and a red maple in addition to several crepe myrtles. They were very careful to trim the trees to my specifications. They had a chipper on site to dispose of the branches.

John came within 2 days and gave us an estimate and explained everything he would do. His crew came 2 days later and did the work as contracted and did a beautiful job. They checked with us to see if we wanted anything else done and did everything we wanted. They cleaned up all the branches and debris . We were extremely pleased with their work and highly recommend them and plan to have them do some future landscaping.

Jon Chalker came promptly and gave a thorough estimate, answering all questions clearly. The estimate was fair for the work to be done. His crew arrived at the appointed time and did their work completely, with excellent clean up. The crew checked with me to come and see their work and clean up before they left. I was very plaesed with all aspects of this company.

After the visit for estimate, work was scheduled within a week. Owner was professional and took time to discuss the project. I was very happy with the results, an excellent job. Even the couple of minor requests for a couple changes/or finishing touches were addressed quickly, about the next day. Outstanding job; would definitely use them again in future.

Outstanding. Jon and his team, from design to the finishing touches exceeded expecations. Our backyard is beautiful, and we can hardly believe it is ours. Jon did more than he said he would - - he wanted us to be pleased with the work his company performed, and we are. The work was done in a very timely fashion. Tremendous INTEGRITY. We will call Alamo Arbor Care again when we need lanscaping services and tree pruning. We called several companies to bid on the work we wanted done. Many didn't show up. Many didn't follow up and submit a bid. Jon and Tim were here when they said they would be, followed up, and provided a competitive bid. We had never spent this much money on this type of work. They were willing to work with us on the plan to get the cost to a point that we felt comfortable.

They are an excellent tree trimming service. I called them, they responded quickly, setting an appointment and giving me an estimate. Once I decided on using them, they gave me a date and time they would come out. They were punctual and professional. They did a great job. They cleaned up so well. They trimmed the trees really well. I was afraid of over-trimming but they a great job. I am definitely going to use them again.

they arrived while i was at work, when i returned home the work was done. i left the plantings up to them, i just wanted something simple, low maintenance. it looked fantastic. they did some extras they didn't charge me for: having river rock edging around one flower bed. however within a week's time, one of the plantings looked unhealthy and i noticed there wasn't very much mulch, also within two weeks, both beds and area around tree full of weeds/grass. when i called them with concerns, asked if they could take a look at the planting i was concerned about and questioned how the bed was prepped, felt like i was being given the brush off. they never came back like they said they would. i called again, same gentleman answered and indicated having family health issues and he would call back when he had time. never heard from them again. i thought for the price they did a great job and would have liked to have them do more work, but i still don't know if it was health issues that kept them from following up or integrity issues. i still think the work they did looks great and have no regrets about the money spent, i just have to stay on top of the weeds. the one planting that looked sickly never has taken off but is still surviving.

I watched this tree service while they trimmed our neighbor's trees a few weeks ago and it was nice to see a well trained crew working efficiently. I had a tree that needed to be trimmed and called them and left a message for John who returned my call 2 days later. He had a crew available and came right over. We were able to agree on a price and that's when the saw dust started to fly. They completed the job in less than 2 hours including cleaning up the mess. If you need a tree trimmed they are the people to call.

Previously, I had all the trees in my yard thinned and trimmed by Alamo City Arbor Care, and I was very impressed by their high quality of work. When I needed the sod in my backyard replaced, I first turned to John Chalker, the owner of Alamo City Arbor Care to perform this work. His bid was very fair and reasonable and I immediately accepted his offer. The job took two days and was started and completed right as scheduled. All the old sod was removed and a four-way mix was added as a new top soil layer. The new sod was then installed to fit perfectly within the multi-curved boundaries of my yard. My wife and I were watching the workers during the entire install and were thoroughly impressed with their outstanding attention to every detail - and I mean each and every detail. The newly installed sod was then rolled and after that everything at the job site was cleaned up. John then walked me through a very complete and thorough inspection of all the work that had been performed. I was impressed and totally satisfied with the entire process - from start to finish. Everything was done in a very courteous and respectful manner and the result exceeded all our expectations. Our backyard now boasts a beautiful landscape of new, vibrant sod thanks to the outstanding work of Alamo City Arbor Care. John and his outstanding company have earned my highest recommendation.

Mike from Alamo City came and gave a very reasonalbe estimate to trim and clean up two (2) large oak trees in our yard that had not been trimmed in a very long time or perhaps never. I called to let him know that we were interested in them doing the work and mentioning I had an Angie's List coupon, which they ageed to take after the estimate was given. The estimates we had received to date from other companies ranged from 850 for both trees to 1,400 for each. Mike did not show up on the date/time agreed upon. I contacted him, he did not contact me, and he asked if he could come the following Monday as the job he was working on was running late. He did show up on the second agreed upon date. Only two (2) people came to do this job, which I thought was a little light considering the time frame he stated the job would take. Overall, they did a very good job for the price, but I did have to keep pointing out dead branches that needed to be removed. Mike and the man that was trimming the trees did not seem to appreciate that I was pointing out additional work that needed to be done, but they did it, especially after I picked up the tools and started to pull down dead branches myself. A number of dead branches remain on our trees, so I think they could have done a slightly better job. Some of the cuts were not sprayed which does make me slightly nervous about oak wil but for the price, they did a good job and I would recommend them to others, especially for the price charged.

Jon, the owner, came out the next day after I called him to go over what needed to be done and to give me an estimate. He gave me an estimate on the spot and we set a time and day for the job to be done. His crew showed up on the day and time that we agreed on. They got right to work. They had all the tools and equipment they needed to do the job right They were very careful to make sure they did not damage or butcher the trees. They ground up everything that was cut out of the trees. When they were finished, they did the most extensive clean up job that I have ever seen. They thoroughly raked the yard, blew the sawdust off the roof, blew out the gutters, and then blew the driveway, sidewalks, and street. You would never know that I had such an extensive job done. In this day and time, it is hard to find companies that give good customer service. When Jon gave me the estimate, he said I would be happy with his work. I am more than happy with the job they did. They far exceeded my expectations. I am really impressed with Alamo City Arbor. It is great to find a company that does what they say they will do and do such a great job doing it. I plan to have them back to do some landscaping and will use them again for any future tree trimming.

The trees were trimmed about a month ago. The job was completed to my satisfaction quickly and efficiently. They took away all the branches, etc. and left the yard clean. The second larger job was done this past week. They again completed the job quickly and efficiently. John helped me to come up with a plan that was esthetically pleasing and helped to solve the problems of water run-off and devising walk-ways where needed at a reasonable cost. The job took 3 days. I asked for adjustments to be made as the work progressed and always got exactly what I wanted without complaint. The final result is amazing. My yard has been transformed and I couldn't be happier with the result!

I now understand why Alamo City Arbor Care has received such high ratings. My experience with them has shown me that they definitely are a standout company. John Chalker, the owner, came to my house at my request to scope out my project and give me a quote. Within the first minute of our conversation, I was thoroughly convinced that John knew what he was talking about and that I was dealing with someone I could trust. His suggestions were spot on and I thought his quote was very reasonable for the amount of work that had to be done. We agreed on the work date and on that day and at the agreed upon time, John showed up with his crew of four and thoroughly explained to them everything that needed to be done. The four workers immediately started trimming and thinning the three large trees in my front yard, taking great care not to damage my lawn, sprinkler heads and flower beds. The workers then moved to my backyard and removed one large tree and began trimming and thinning two large trees and one smaller one. Two stumps were then removed. All the while, fallen limbs and branches were being gathered up and brought to a collection point where they were run through a large mulcher. When all the work was completed and inspected, the workers did a thorough clean up of my whole yard - heads and shoulders above any clean up I'd ever seen before. I was totally impressed and more than satisfied with the quality of their work They were courteous, professional and very skilled at their profession. John was very easy to work with and true to his word. I was so impressed with this company, that I've also hired them to re-sod my back yard that has languished for the last two years from the drought and over-shading . I'll provide a report on that project too as soon as it is completed.
