Alamo City Arbor Care

They brought in soil that has 4 different components and St. Augustine sod for our backyard which is more than 2200 sf. Jon's team weeded, raked and then spread the soil and laid the sod. They hauled away the leaves, weeds, ect. The process in the backyard took about 5 or 6 hours for a team of about 3. The backyard was $2100 with the Angie's List discount they offered. We had priced several people before choosing them and the prices were all about the same.We were so pleased with the backyard that we asked for a quote on the front yard which they came to do a few days later. Jon's team was quick, responsive and helpful with information about sod/grass. We recommend them.

They were very organized, professional, and quick. They took down the tree very quickly and did a thorough job of cleaning up all of the debris.

They got busy and couldn't come at first when they planned to, and ended up coming on a Saturday. Arrived promptly at 9:00 a.m. with a full crew, went to work, kept the driveway clear for neighbors, worked hard in the heat all day. The trees look fantastic and they did a wonderful job of cleaning it all up (removing ball moss makes an incredible mess!). We would use them again in a minute - they even found an earring my wife had lost in the back yard!

The evening prior a car left the roadway and plowed through my yard hitting a 25 yr.old oak tree. A large portion of the tree had all of the bark removed as a result. I called Alamo Arbor Care, who has done tree pruning for me in the past, and asked if someone could come out that day and treat my tree. Before the end of the day the tree was treated and all the loose bark removed from the area. I never know how to grade someone on price because I don't have this type of work done often, but their quick response to my problem was well worth whatever they charged.

Very well... The price was really good compared to the other company's which provided estimates.

I was called to let me know they were on their way to the house. Before I arrived they had already started. They were quick and efficent. The branches were chipped into a truck. After the larger branches had been chipped the men used rakes to rake up all the smaller twigs. They left the yard the way they found it. Very professional. I would use Alamo City Arbor Care again. I would also recommend this business to everyone.

Alamo City Arbor Care did some major pruning on our large trees just like we wanted them to. They moved a large amount of items from our back patio (patio set, BBQ grill and container garden). We are very pleased with their care of our trees and property. They got us a price quickly, came out the next day and left the yard clean and neat. We were concerned that a large tree, close to the house could be a danger to our foundation but the owner assured us that based on the type of tree that we didn't need to remove the tree. I'm not sure who was happier about that - me or him! A less honest company could have said it had to be removed which would have cost a lot of money and would have robbed of us the wonderful shade in our back yard. This is the third time we have used Alamo City Arbor Care and will continue to use them in the future. We used other providers in the past but were never as satisfied with work performed and professionalism as we are with Alamo. I definitely recommend this company.

Hired Alamo City Arbor Care to trim up the oak trees on property and they did fantastic job. Very pleased with their services. The trees never been professionally done, they trimmed and shaped them really nice. Completely cleaned up after themselves, yard was spotless, and took all the debris with them. Very happy with them.

There was a delay in getting a proposal, but considering we requested it in such a busy time of year, not surprising. They did good work and finished promptly once they started.

I called to get an estimate on three occasions and got voicemail each time. Twice I left my contact info and requested a call back, and I never heard from them.

Jon came the day after I called. At the first meeting I immediately trusted him and believed he would perform the job to my satisfaction. Jon exceeded my expectation by locating trees that were larger than my budget allowed and also included three small trees that were not in my budget. He was basically able to give me everything that I wanted and more within my budget- that rarely happens!!! Jon delivered the trees and had his crew place them in my desired locations allowing me to change locations until it was perfect. I am somewhat of a perfectionist and have a tendency to irritate most contractors, but Jon was always very professional and accommodated my many requests with a smile. My experience with Jon was very pleasant and he is very easy to work with. He does what he says within the quoted timeframe and I will call him for all my future landscaping needs.

I found Alamo Arbor Care on Angie's list. I spoke to Jon Chalker on the phone shortly before Thanksgiving and explained what I wanted done. He came by the house that same day on his way home and left a written proposal. He called me to make sure that I had found the proposal and to see if I had any questions. I was going to be putting up Christmas decorations so I thought it best to wait until after the holidays before doing anything. By the time I got back to Jon, they were already getting pretty busy. It took him a little longer than he expected to get to the job, but nothing significant. He let me know when he was ready to come out and confirmed the details of the work that was to be done. All the work was done in a single day while I was at work. The quality of the work was excellent. The trees are beautifully shaped, the back yard (the location of 5 of of the large oak trees) is now much brighter. It appears that all wounds on the oak trees were properly painted. I believe that they left my yard cleaner than they found it. Dealing with this company was a very satisfying experience and I enthusiastically recommend them for their tree services.

Excellent experience with Alamo City Arbor Care! My backyard was not level and consisted of nothing more than dirt and and overgrown trees. John and his crew dominated the trees, leveled my yard, installed sprinklers, a flagstone patio, grass and landscaping. John was responsive to all our requests and aimed to please in all that he did. He and his crew are all very capable; they worked efficiently on our project, cleaned up after themselves, and gave us a high quality product at an excellent price. I strongly recommend John and Alamo City Arbor Care.

Great experience w/ these guys. They were able to come out w/in the week to trim back some trees that were growing too close to my house. Excellent job--They got back to me quick and provided me quality work at a great price point. I will definitely use again

Crew showed up on time and worked continuously while cleaning the area as they worked. Straightforward proposal, work and cleanup. Crew utilized safety gear and were professional in every way. Jon was knowledgeable and easy to work with in regards to the worked we wanted done.

Eric came out to give us an estimate on the work and emailed it to us that night. He gave us ideas of how to build a pathway to the front door from the driveway as well. The estimate came a little over what we budgeted(by $200) but for the work we had done, it was worth it. We were also able to take advantage of the Angie's List coupon they offered. They also put mulch in another bed that wasn't originally on the estimate. They came on their scheduled day, on time, and finished in one day. They were professional the entire time. We are so pleased with the change in our front yard! It's updated the look tremendously. We'll definitely use them when it's time to do the backyard and trim our trees.

They arrived at the agreed upon time and completed the work in one day. They removed the trees and cut them into firewood sized pieces and the stumps were removed to eliminate problems mowing the lot later. The crew was professional and did everything I requested. They cleaned up after themselves and left my property in better shape than when they arrived. I recommend this company to anyone looking to have landscaping or tree services performed on their land. I'll be calling a couple neighbors who need tree service and suggest STRONGLY that they hire Alamo City Arbor Care for their jobs.

Overall this was a wonderful experience! Jon is very professional and wonderful to work with - he even gave me the Angie's List discount when he asked how I had heard about him. The crew did an amazing job. All of the trees were trimmed properly and look great! The cleanup afterwards was more than I expected - I couldn't even tell they had been in my yard other than the trees looking so much better. Thank you so much! An overall wonderful experience. Mr John Chalker always answers his phone promptly, he is super flexible,punctual, and professional. I highly recommend him for anyone that needs any kind of tree work done, he really went above and beyond what I expected.

They came out on time. Finished the job in 1 day. They had been out previously for an estimate. Job came in at estimated price and they did a little extra without extra charges. The price was extremely reasonable. I live in a rural subdivision. Most places wnated a surcharge just to travel out to my house. Alamo City Arbor came out within 24 hours of my initial call, provided a thorough estimate and then completed the job they were hired to do on time. My trees and flower beds look 100% better. Knowledgeable of the plants and tree types. Hauled away all the debris without any issues. I would recommend them to anyone looking for lawn and tree care.

I called a several companies and bid. Although they were not the cheapest bid, after discussing the project with each of the companies, I thought they were the most professional and that there was less risk. I was very impressed with all the options they gave me and their knowledge. The work was done exactly as described and efficiently. They cleaned up after the work. I was very satisfied with the work and John's knowledge of trees and the crew. I would definitely use them again.

Overall, went great. Scheduling was a little challenging, but once that was done the company was prompt and the service was great. They cleaned the yard very thoroughly prior to leaving.
