John was a pleasure to work with. His initial bid was $800.00 which I could not afford. I counter-offered and he accepted with the stipulation the job would not be as detailed. I don't know if it was detailed or not, I only know he did a great job and I am very pleased with the work he (they) performed. They cleaned up after themselves. I would definately hire them again and would highly recommend them to anyone.

They gave me a competitive price and did a fabulous job! The equipment they used to remove the stump was top notch, so it was able to mulch the stump as far as 18" under the ground. It was a worry-free experience, as the crew was professional, focused and careful. I would highly recommend them.

I was pleased with the work done by Alamo City Arbor Care. He came and provided an estimate the same day I called. He gave me an estimate for my original request (trim trees back from the roofline), but also recommended some additional work that needed to be done [we just purchased the home and the trees has been pretty negleted by the previous owner]. Since this was not done in a pushy way, I appreciated the recommendation. His recommendation was the same as the other company I called for an estimate, so I did not think it was out of line. Both companies provided good advice and seemed very knowledgable, but Alamo City came in a few hundred dollars lower on the price, so I went with them. The work was done carefully and looks good. Overall I was pleased with the service I received.

Both of these jobs were handled by Jon Calker. He came out right away and gave me a bid on the work. Both jobs were done on a Saturday ahead of the projected time and did not require me taking off my job to be present. His workers were polite and did every thing I asked them to do. Real Professionals. Many of the large limbs were over my roof and they never came close to dropping one on the roof. Some of the trees and limbs were up to 2 feet in diameter and 40 to 60 feet tall. He put three crews (12 ) men on the tree project in the back yard and removed the stumps. They started at 9:00am and finished by 6:00pm On the trim job on 9/14/2013, they he called me at noon and and said they had completed another job early and asked if they could come over at 2:30pm and do the job he had originally scheduled for late the following week. They arrived on time and completed the work and cleanup by 6:00pm. We probably will not have to trim again for two to three years and we don't have to worry about the city and low hanging limbs over the street. I run a Plumbing Manufacturers Representative Firm and warehousing operation in San Antonio and having to take off on a weekday cost me a lot of valuable time and money. I have recommended him to several of my neighbors and we would not trust any one else to do our work. The neighbor across the street had another service do the trimming over his pool and patio last year and is still trying to settle damages to his tile and pool furniture with them. Jon was NOT the low bidder...but you get what you pay for! And he is licensed and bonded.

Called Jon out for an estimate and he met me the same day. His quote was fair and better than 3 other companies I called for an estimate. We scheduled the job for the following week. They started on time and finished on time. I have about 60 oak trees on my property so this was no simply job as we recently purchased the home (a week ago) and it seemed as though the trees had not been pruned in quite some time. Jon's team was fast and did an excellent job and produced the result I had envisioned when we discussed what I needed and wanted. I was most impressed with the clean up the crew did as there was not a single tree limb left behind. They even cleaned up my roof from prior debris accumulation. The trees look great and we couldn't be happier. On a side note ...we even had an issue with getting our Direct TV installed because the tree coverage was interferring with the satelites ability to get a signal. The installer couldn't do it and need to comeback after the trees were cleared...well this was Friday (move in day) and I didn't have Jon coming out until the following Wednesday. I called Jon to see if he could help and he made it happen and met the DirectTV guy at our second scheduled appointment time on that Monday so the installer could point out what limbs needed to go and Jon's crew took care of it. It was just nice of him to make the extra effort and go out of his way on our behalf and do what he could do to make it workout for us. Thanks to Jon and his crew for a job well done.

Jon's bid beat another crew that was onsite and working on the neighbors house. He couldn't do it the same day but the money savings was worth it. His crew came within 48 hours and finished the job while I was not home, but he had called me to confirm all details. Met all expectations. I wanted to preserve as much shade as possible... in the end Jon accomplished everything he said he would, but I wish I had asked him to cut back more.

Came out one day for free estimate and came out in couple days later for the service. The crew came out and cleaned the tree in about 3 hours. Raked the area clean of any derbies. The tree never looked nicer.

Crew was great, fast, and tidy. You couldn't even tell I had 2 trees removed. They couldn't come to remove the trees for a couple of weeks but kept me informed on the date they could. I did ask Eric for a landscaping estimate and he failed to supply me one.

This should say it all: John Chalker of Alamo City Arbor Care gave us the very best job of trimming trees that we have ever had. The clean-up was thorough and good. We called on him again to cut and remove a laurel tree after a high wind. Again, he was punctual, thorough and totally professional.

I've only been here a couple of months but one of the reasons I fell in love with my home was because the lot has so many beautiful trees. Over 5 or more are very old, mature specimens. It was clear they hadn't been pruned or cared for in a number of years. There were several dead and/or dying trees on the property as well. Over a two-day period these guys came out and transformed my already beautiful trees into works of art and uplifted the look the of the property as well. Even my friends who didn't know I had the trees serviced commented on how beautiful the property looked. The quote was reasonable and the service was excellent. I'm definitely using this company again.

Jon came out the morning I called him. A large limb had fallen and I needed it removed quickly. I wanted him to look at the tree as well because we had been hearing it groan and the large limbs threatened our home and patio cover if they were to fall. Jon recommended removal and clearly demonstrated why. We agreed to the work and Jon was able to return in a few days and get it taken care of very professionally. His crew was quick, careful and safe. Our sprinkler system wires were cut but Jon had warned us before hand and we had contacted our irrigation contractor before hand and already had set an appointment. This tree had caused lots of issues with wiring and pipes and I was pleased that the damage was less than expected. After the project, Jon called us back because we had paid the price before our Angie's list discount. He arranged to get the checks swapped out. I was pleased with the responsiveness, price and professionalism. I would definitely use Jon again and recommend him to friends.

Eric and the crew were punctual an professional the entire time. They made my home look like a different place. I appreciate when you find a company that not only does what they say but go beyond expectations. They did a great job and I recommend them highly!

Things could not have gone easier. I believe I called Jon on a Friday, he came out the very next morning (he even arrived early!), provided an estimate I was happy with, and completed the work on Monday. Job DONE. I called Jon Chalker and he came promptly and gave me a quote for the task I wanted performed. Two weeks later Mike and Harrison arrived and promptly went to work, removing 500 sq. feet of turf and replacing with mulch and river rock. Both gentlemen were friendly and fast. They also mulched the front and side beds, and capped 4 sprinkler heads. Jon followed up shortly after the work was done to confirm I was pleased with the job -- I was! I highly recommend them for the quality of work and price. Job well done!

It went wonderful. This is the 2nd time using Jon and I would highly recommend them to anyone. Jon and crew are extremely trustworthy and go out of the way to show high levels of customer service. I had contacted Alamo City to provide me with a price to trim, raise and clean out my tree. I had to call back twice, but he did get me a price. They were suppose to come out the first of the week to perform the service, but did not get out until Thursday of that week. I wasn't there when they trimmed the tree, therefore they did not want to cut too much. When I returned, I saw the job they did and thought they did a good job, but didn't trim as much as I wanted. I called Jon, and he was very prompt in coming out at my convenience to make sure I was completely satisfied. He was very knowledgeable, professional and made sure i was completely satisfied before he left.

This was the second visit for Alamo City Arbor Care. They had done such a wonderful job on their first visit that I did not hesitate to call l them again when I needed another tree trimmed. Just like their first visit they got straight to work. After the limbs were removed they cleaned up after the job leaving everything just as they found it. I will call them again if I need any more trees trimmed. I would recommend this business to anyone needing any type of tree care.

Called the phone number but did not get a voice message prompt. Was surprised when Jon called back apologizing for missing my call. We set up an appointment two days later when it was convenient for me. They cam ethe next day and trimmed the trees. They did exactly what I needed and left my yard in good shape.

I made initial contact on Angie's List email then made an appoinement for July 15, 2013 for them to coem to my house for an estimate for front yard lanscaping. About an hr past the appointment time, they called to appologize about being late due to the storm that day and asked for me to call or text them to reschedule. I sent them a text either that day or the next and never heard back nor did they follow up. I feel the business should follow up with the customer, not the customer to track down and find the business. They were very responsive to set up an appointment though.

Jon met with me to provide a quote to perform the work and I found him to be very professional, knowledgeable and possessing a friendly customer service oriented attitude. I had what I had deemed to be a tricky job as I requested the removal of several large (16" diameter) limbs from a 35' tall oak that hung over our pool. Jon assured me that his crew would handle it with ease, and made suggestions on how I could clean up the remainder of the canopy to improve the overall light penetration without endangering the health of the tree. He arrived today with his crew and commenced work on time. The results were beyond what I had anticipated. The entire space was impacted visually by Jon's work -opened up with light and the area above the pool cleared - it was an completely different backyard. Although the tree had several major limbs removed you could not tell by looking at it that so much had been done; it just looked "right" or natural and more majestic than before. The yard was left spotless - they did an outstanding job cleaning up after themselves. I was motivated to write a good review because great work deserves to be recognized, and I feel Jon and his crew did a great job. Highly recommended.

They came on a Friday, which is the day we requested. It was a great deal of work, there were a substantial amount of dead limbs as well as live ones that were just out of control. They did a GREAT job! Other than the tree looking awesome you couldn't even tell they had been there. There were no branches on the ground, everything was cleaned up! I was very impressed with the entire process. Alamo City Arbor Care will be our landscaping team for life. If you want a great job done professionally and not to mention affordably, then you need to call John.
