Prior to the day that we agreed upon to get the job done, Jon called me to confirm that everything was on schedule. I talked with Jon about additional work on two other trees (one Oak and another Palm) and he graciously agreed to the work at a very (very) good price. On the day the work was to be done, Jon's crew showed up with all of the equipment (personnel, saws, shredder, etc.) that would be needed to do a quality and professional job. They got to work right away and took down those trees in what has to be record time. Two of the trees were within three feet of my home. None of the pieces of the trees or debris even so much as touched the house. That, all by itself, was amazing. The crew took down the three trees and did the additional work on the on the other two trees in a totally professional manner. The crew was friendly and very carefully picked up every shred of debris. When the job was completed, you could not tell that all of that work had been done. None of the other bushes (or a lamp post right under one of the Palm trees) was disturbed. Even the lawn did not show any signs that they had done all of this work. The bottom line is this: Alamo City Arbor Care did the BEST JOB at the BEST PRICE with a level of QUALITY and CUSTOMER SERVICE that you rarely find anymore. Everything occurred just as agreed to and the end result was WAY ABOVE my expectations. After the job, Jon called me to make sure that the job had met my expectations. One more thing: One of my Palm trees roots had grown into the plumbing of my lawn sprinkler system, so when the stump was being ground down a sprinkler line was damaged. Jon repaired the sprinkler line before the crew left for the day. I give Jon, his crew and this company my HIGHEST RECOMMENDATION for all of your tree care and landscaping needs. I will surely call him in the future anytime I need any tree and landscaping services. I'm in my 60's and remember the days when quality customer service was important to companies. I left Jon a message and within a couple of hours he returned my call. He was very nice and professional. He is also an arborist (and a Christian) so I knew I could trust him and depend on him to know what he was doing. He was able to stop by my house the same evening (Tuesday) and gave me an estimate of $2800 to work on 9 very large trees. I told him I wanted to get another estimate because I had never had the work done before by a professional and he said he could probably do the job within the week if I chose his company to do it. His competitor was able to give me an estimate on Thursday but came in at $3800 for the same job. I left another message with Jon on Thursday afternoon and he called me back the same evening and told me he could be out the next morning on Friday to do the job that the other competitor said he would need a day and a half to do. Four men arrived with Jon on Friday morning around 9:00 since they came from San Antonio and I live in New Braunfels. The crew did an outstanding job of removing suckers and dead wood from all trees and trimming up the canopies so that the trees did not hang over my new roof. They did not use any heavy machinery in my lawn and by the time they left you could hardly tell they had been there. My ground cover in two areas looked practically untouched which impressed me the most and I was worried about getting my new sprinkler system heads broken, but no problem since they do all of the work "man"-ually by climbing and using ropes and pulleys. They were done around 7:00 and they raked and cleaned until everything was spotless. They even raked and cleaned on the neighbor's side which made me happy since when my neighbor had the trees (butchered by slicing off the limbs on his side) in between our two homes done just a few weeks earlier, my side was left a mess and a yard decoration was broken and left on the ground! I highly recommend Jon Chalker and his crew for all of your tree care and landscaping needs. I will surely call him in the future when I need tree service again!

Mike came out right after I called and gave me a fair estimate, stating he could begin work the following week. The crew came in between the rains we had and worked over 4 hours on the tasks at hand. I am very pleased with the results and the professionalism shown by Alamo City Arbor Care, and they made sure I was happy with what they had done. Not only did they keep in line with the estimate but they actually removed a tree that was not part of the estimate they originally had given me. My yard was overrun with hackberry saplings and trees and they may have overlooked this one in the estimate (if you saw the "before" you could understand why) but they removed that tree anyway and did not charge extra for it. I will call them back next time without a doubt.

Called Jon and on same day his crew came out, ,cut down three diseased trees, cut up logs for firewood, shredded limbs and left the mulch I wanted and shaved the stumps to below ground level. Jon has done numerous jobs for me in the past and when I need tree work I always go to him. I thoroughly recommend Alamo City Arbor Care.

Every thing went just fine. They arrived as scheduled and got right to work. Took just over 4 hours to complete all the work. All they left with us was the mulch created from grinding out the tree stump. The Arizona Ash was quite large tree. Took a bobcat to remove the trunk parts that were too large to be shredded. They men even raked the area and smoothed out the ground. This is not the first time we have used Jon and his crew over the last 6 or 7 years.

Went great. Large crew. First-rate equipment. Excellent clean up.

I contacted Alamo through Angie's List at around 5:45 on a Monday evening expecting a response the next day. John called me not even 20 minutes later stating he was on his way home but would be able to come out and take a look at the tree within 15 minutes. He came out and gave me a quote and services were performed the next day. Between first contact and services completed it took a total of 15 hours, wow! Not to mention my tree looks 110% better than it did before! Overall John was extremely responsive, courteous and professional. I would recommend Alamo to any and everyone!

Excellent. Was able to come over sooner than expected - a cancellation/postphonement from another client, followed by a call to me to ask if it was ok to come over a few days earlier. The crew trimmed 6 or seven palm trees and a live oak, as well as cleaned up ALL brush debris.

When he finally phone back I explained the situation he ask to send some picture for him to look at he said he would look at them in the morning and phone me back. Also asked for the address that if the pictures weren't giving enough information they might stop by. This was the last contact made and have not heard anything since

Jon responded promptly to my first phone call, showed up later the same day to give us an estimate, and was back the next day by 9am to start the job, which his crew completed that same day. His crew was professional and courteous, and they did exactly what we had asked them to do. The trees look great, and we would recommend Alamo City Arbor Care to anyone.

Jon's crew showed up after a couple reschedules due to them being super busy, checked in and went right to work. Pruned up 2 large live oaks, couple other smaller trees, and a few bushes. The trees look a lot better now after being pruned. Now we can enjoy our back yard again. Everyone is very hardworking and Jon answered any and all questions I had. I will do business with them in the future.

I called the company from Afghanistan and they immediately set up an appointment for services. They even went out the same day of the call to view the work and give an estimate. Within 2 days all the branches were cut back like I wanted. They didn't even want payment until the services were performed. Because of the time difference, they did not hassle my tenant and received payment from me the following morning as was previously agreed upon. I couldn't be happier with their service and plan to use them again for landscaping my home!! You will not be disappointed with their service, courtesy or professionalism.

Jon Chalker was very responsive and provided the best estimate around. His crew was very professional and courteous. They also trimmed a few branches from a tree that was hitting my house at no additional cost. I have a pool and they cleaned all the large debris from it. The yard was also free from debris and they were very careful with all the furniture and yard ornaments ensuring nothing was damaged. This is my second time using this company and I highly recommend them for all your tree servicing needs especially for palm tree care. My palms look beautiful! What a great experience! They were prompt, responsive and creative. Their work is beautiful and is an excellent value for dollars spent. I would certainly recommend them to friends and neighbors, and will use them again myself as the need arises

I contacted Alamo City Arbor Care for some tree work and was provided an estimate. Having used their service's before I knew they would do great work so I moved forward with the very well priced estimate. On Monday the crew came out and did the work that was agreed upon and went beyond the scope of work by removing a couple of problem limbs that were quickly approaching the side of the house. The crew did a great job on the trees, cleaned up my yard of all debris, the job was done quickly and done right. Highly recommend them for your arbor needs.

They were here because we had an ice storm I used them because they were a USAA vendor. I had very good results from them but they were supposed to have their information posted on my area. They never showed up. So I was never able to post a favorable review for them. I had very good dealings with them and my only problem was that they never showed up on Angie's List in my area and I talked to one guy who is actually the guy who handles his account out there and his stuff never showed up in my area, which I thought was a disservice to him and people who would want to deal with a decent guy. It would have been good for the people in this area to have access to reputable tree guys. It cost a thousand dollars. They did everything that they said they were going to do. They worked safely as well. They did not do anything wild or crazy, when they dropped trees there were no broken ropes. There was no damage to my property. You just tell them what you want done and they would give you the cost. They tend to charge for half a day or a full day. For tree guys they are pretty nice guys. The price is good because it would cost three hundred dollars to cut one tree down around here and they cut down a lot of trees for me.

John is very easy to work with, extremely responsive and very reasonable. Quality work.

Jon Chalker is a class act!! I've had them do work for me previously and I've referred them to several friends & neighbors. A man of his word, Jon does a fabulous job and has always been fair with me. When they come, they're professional, careful and efficient.. But the best part comes at the end, because when they're "done" there's not a speck left ... they drive away and you would never know they had come in the first place. Amazing!! For my money, I would never use another company because I know exactly what Jon will do and what the final result will be. Simply fabulous! They did a great job. 5 man crew with top-notch equipment and skills. They got an extraordinary amount of work done in a day and the quality was excellent. Very, very pleased.

We needed 80 psi to operate the new system. Our water pressure here is 60psi. After the new sprinler system was installed, Mr. Eric Gonzales of ACAC informed me that it was my responsibility to make sure SAWS upped my pressure and that we also needed to purchase a pressure release valve. SAWS has informed me that 60psi is what we have and that a pressure release valve ONLY is used to reduce pressure. Mr. Eric Gonzales is not returning my phone call to discuss this issue. Also, he bought plants and installed them my knowing what he was selecting. We now have some full sun plants in a primarily shady area in a focal area of our front yard.

Very prompt, very professional, very clean. A. four man crew took about three hours of careful work, removing trees from a city back yard. They did an excellent and careful job and cleaned up every scrap. I would definitely use their services again!

Mike is a professional! He immediately responded to our request for an estimate of work we wanted accomplished. He pruned all trees in our yard and removed all debris. We were a bit nervous about the tree that needed to be trimmed by our pool. However, everything was perfectly done. His service is outstanding! We are so thankful that he was recommended by a friend, and had received high reviews on Angie's List! We will definitely use Alamo City Arbor Care for all future needs!

They came Saturday morning and promptly started to work. They did a complete and thorough job, one man cutting and two men removing limbs, They only stopped for lunch and the job was completed by early afternoon. They cleaned the yard of all debris. It was hard to tell that they had even been there. My neighbor was so impressed with their work that he hired them to come back and do some work for him. Very professional and outstanding job. I would recommend them to anyone. Jon has his on chipper so there was no limbs left on the curb for the city to pick up.

We contacted Jon because his company did an excellent job trimming our trees in 2008. We needed one large dying cedar removed in our front yard as well as several dead trees on the back fence line and several in our side yard. We have 2+ acres of land filled with cedar and oak trees. Jon came on Thursday to give us an estimate with the work date set for the next Tuesday. He said they might be able to start the job on Saturday if they completed a current one. He called at 8:30 Saturday morning to say they'd be there in approximately one hour. Jon had his two-man crew start the job so he could finish another one. They broke for lunch at noon but were back at work by 1:00 and finished the job by 3:30. Jon ground down all the stumps and made sure everything was back in place. Jon and his crew were prompt, accommodating and very pleasant. The finished price was exactly what he'd quoted and we'll definitely call him again when it's time to do the "big tree trim"!
